"After finishing the campaign, there really isn’t that much to do. Even a few weeks after its release, very few people were playing the standard multiplayer modes such as Free For All and Team Deathmatch. Besides for the format of the multiplayer, the lack of a cohesive community entirely ruins the longevity of the game, making what could have been a potentially great experience into one that doesn’t exist."
"Despite what you may have heard before now, Quantum Theory is in no manner a bad game. It is neither an excellent nor remarkable game, but it is certainly not a bad game. It is a third person shooter that is strikingly similar to another popular TPS franchise, but you’ve heard all that already.
What you haven’t heard is that this game presents a premise, story and ambiance that are unlike any shooter on the market. It’s got a better story than most shooters I would gamble. In understanding..."

As usual Andy delivers this week's news in gaming and we make up for the light gaming week with some substantial casual discussion."
"There have been a lot of ‘Gears of War clones’ around lately, but none more-so than Quantum Theory; Team Tachyon’s new Sci-fi third-person shooter. But hey, if you going to copy, you might as well do it from the best right?"

"Tecmo's Quantum Theory is an upcoming game for the PS3 and Xbox 360 may remind you of a certain other war game that is heavy with gears but it has its own unique storyline. Tecmo has sent out a collection of new screenshots for the game due out on November 16."

After being delayed to "improve quality", Koei Tecmo has announced that Quantum Theory will be released this summer, although no specific launch date was announced.
Forget their Dead or Alive series...and their Ninja Gaiden Sigma II breast jiggle feature... and their scantily-clad booth babes. Hell, forget Fatal Frame IV's jiggly breast and ass physics too.
According to Tecmo, they have been making games that appeal to women for the last three to four years.
"We're Tecmo – we're good at female characters!"
Indeed.
"Every so often I hear people talk about how they miss the days when Japan ran the game industry. I don't think they so much miss the days when Japanese developers were on top of the world as much as they miss the days when Japanese developers/publishers actually worked in large to promote creativity rather than just follow trends. Those days have faded. While many great games still come out of Japan, thanks mostly to their always shrinking console market and a lack of knowledge on how to revi..."
"Following the release of new screenshots and concept art in recent months, Tecmo Koei Europe has today revealed the box art design for the forthcoming Quantum Theory. Set to arrive in Spring 2010, Quantum Theory has regularly been suggested to offer a Japanese perspective of the phenomenally popular Gears of War series."
"Quantum Theory should be on every gamer’s watch since it will be on both the 360 and PS3. And after all, it could very well be the closest thing to Gears of War on the PS3. But let’s not forget, that Quantum has never been a game with all the hype surrounding it, and from the looks of it, Quantum can very well be a sleeper title this year."
"Japanese Quantum Theory enthusiasts will get the game on March 25, but Tecmo Koei America is still withholding the exact date for those of us in America. Expect it not too closely to Final Fantasy XIII and God of War III, also releasing in March."
"The last world war inflicted catastrophic damage on the human race, leaving only a few survivors. Many years have since passed, and in their new community, Cocoon, life is now threatened by a black material called Erosion. Surviving humans recruit a militia to conquer the Erosion and set out to take down the evil Living Tower. Arriving at the scene is the stalwart warrior Syd, whose only intentions are to destroy the Tower. Along the way he meets the beautiful and mysterious Filena as they bo..."
"Following the announcement that the forthcoming Quantum Theory would no longer arrive as a PlayStation 3 exclusive yesterday, Tecmo Koei Europe have released a whole new series of concept art images showing-off a number of the detailed environments set to appear in the game. Now due to launch on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in early 2010, Quantum Theory is likely to build a significant and eager following in the next few months."
"Players take on the role of the massive, gun-wielding warrior Syd and will battle through intense action sequences in an unpredictable, shape-shifting battlefield, aided by the mysterious acrobatic Filena. Syd and Filena can perform actions as a pair - in some instances, these moves are the only way to overcome hurdles; strategically performing combos for a more powerful, fierce attack against colossal enemies. In addition to single-player campaign, Quantum Theory also supports four modes of ..."
Tecmo's previously named 'Quantum Theory' game (now just 'Quantum'), appears to take a lot from Western and Japanese developing styles, mixing 200 lb. muscley men and guns bigger than you with a lot of fantasy elements and character designs typical to the region.
With that in mind, 17 new screenshots are here for your perusal, of which we've included five of the most interesting.
"The event began with a presentation highlighting the completion of the merger and the official opening of Tecmo Koei Europe. With KOEI boss Kenji Matsubara in attendance, the new publisher was described as a “new force in games publishing” that plans for “new and vigorous growth in Europe”. The first title to be published by the new company will of course be Ninja Gaiden Σ II."
Quantum, previously known as Quantum Theory, has often been compared to Gears of War. But according to Tecmo, the games will be nothing alike. They plan on making Quantum a "third-person shooter that only Tecmo can make".
The PS3 exclusive Quantum Theory, made by the talented people at Tecmo has debuted its first gameplay trailer today at E3, showcasing gameplay, cinematics and more. The game definitely seems to have a Gears of War vibe, in fact the camera system seems exactly identical. Two seperate characters seem playable so far, one appearing to be light and have a blade, while the other heavier and more long ranged weapons. Go to the source to witness it.
At TGS, a trailer was shown for Tecmo's new upcoming Playstation 3 exclusive title "Quantum Theory". The game is said to have a Gears of War-esque feel, though this doesn't seem to really be the case outside of the main character's general appearance. The game appears to be set in a fantasy world with magic and such, where our main character wields a sort of energy gun.
The screenshots are quite rough, and it clearly needs work, but Tecmo has released some fairly visually-polished games, s...
Tecmo-made Quantum Theory is a Third Person Shooter coming to the PS3. Following scans and rumors on the title, a trailer was shown at TGS. It certainly gives us something to be exicted about.
The game gives me a strange Gears of War vibe, but decide for yourself.
Many know of Quantum Theory as a subject taught at university, however you'd be far off with this upcoming Playstation 3 title that has been revealed by Tecmo in the latest Famitsu magazine. From the article, this appears to be a third-person shooter set for a 2009 release in Japan. The game is being helmed by Fatal Frame creator, Keisuke Kikuchi.
Take a look at the scans below.
