Amazon France has revealed what appear to be the official European box arts for the recently revealed Ratchet & Clank Future, Resistance and Uncharted dual packs.
"If you are new to the PlayStation 3 scene and are looking to catch up on a lot of the systems best offerings from years past, or you somehow managed to avoid the best games on the system, Sony's got you covered. Three of the console's biggest franchises, Resistance, Uncharted, and Ratchet & Clank, are now getting their very own box sets."
"We at GameZone are fond of chatting with the brightest minds behind video game music. These are the unsung heroes of a game, often carrying all of the emotional weight and drive through their music. Michael Bross is no different. Having composed for the Oddworld franchise, he’s now working on Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One. Bross can make anyone with even a passing interest in game music want to listen."
Insomniac Games, the developer behind the popular Resistance and Ratchet & Clank series, provides a vague status update to one of their future titles.
This week Best Buy is offering 2 for $50 several of Playstation 3 most popular games in 2 for $50 sale. Games include Grand Theft Auto IV, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and several more.
Over the past decade, Sony has been quite active at creating new franchises for their Playstation platforms. Their stable of new intellectual properties are diverse and, more importantly, top notch in quality.
"The gaming industry has gotten bigger and better with each passing year, but sometimes they just don’t do things right. Whether it’s game play, story, pricing, or business practice, sometimes the industry needs a little friendly fire from the gamers to keep it in line."
"Discussed on the latest recording of the Full Moon Show, Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time will be getting the dual demo treatment. Insomniac explained that the demo they originally planned was too big, so they had to split it in to two separate demos. One will be a level featuring some Ratchet gameplay, while the other will be a level centered around Clank. Insomniac Games community manager James Stevenson later commented on NeoGAF that the demo would hit prior to the release of t..."
"6:00 AM – Slice and dice, bub.
They start out with a pretty decent title, one of those cases where the game is better than the movie. X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
10:00 AM – If only Jack Ryan had his wings.
Out of all the clues, this is the only one that has me slightly confused. So I checked where all bargain gamers like myself would go, Cheap Ass Gamer. Most users are saying it is Tom Clancy’s HAWX, so I’m going to agree for now.
Another guess is Bioshock (based on “Jack Ryan” being in..."
The second wave of PS3 Greatest Hits and Platinum titles have just been released today. These games which are unique in having sold large amounts of copies in a limited time frame are sold for a low price of just $30, combining quality and a good price. Some examples include MGS4 and DMC4 among others, and just about all of these are both the worth the money at their price. The full list is below.
The extra content for LittleBigPlanet is still coming thick and strong, with no sign of letting up. Many games have made cameo's in the cooperative platformer, Playstation exclusive and not, and Ratchet and Clank appears to be next in line. The sources suggest it is substantial content, likely in line with the very well received Metal Gear Solid expansion pack.
"It looks as if we are in for a treat with upcoming Home Spaces from Insomniac Games. This time from the popular franchises of both Ratchet & Clank and Resistance."
Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time will like its predecessor rely heavily on its fanbase to make sure the game is what the people want. Similar to how in Tools of Destruction gamers got to choose what animal the transmorpher would turn enemies into, Insomniac have this time around started a Ratchet and Clank weapon contest, charging you with designing a weapon for the upcoming game. The winner naturally gets their weapon put in the game, as well as win a trip to San Diego for the inte...
Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time was only announced yesterday, but already a teaser trailer has been released by Insomniac. This trailer shows little in the way of info for the most part, though it reinforces time is going to be a big factor in the game. The real gold is at the end however, when we see the speaker is... a Lombax! Does this mean the race has returned from their exile? Is this one related to Ratchet? Will he be friend or foe? Only time (no pun intended) will tell.
The sequel's announcement was rumoured just hours ago, and would you believe it, the sequel has been confirmed and given a name. Coming this autumn to the stores (yes it's disk-based from what can be interpreted from the article) is the next R&C Game: Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time. See the full press release below.
"The recent Ratchet and Clank Future Weapon Design Contest “CQMBRHRCFWDCSG” adds much more validity to the rumor. Especially this comment made by James Stevenson on PlayStation.Blog last week:"
According to these rumors there is a ton of things that *may* be happening at GDC. The 40GB PS3 is getting it's price cut down to $299 where as the 80GB is retaining it's $399 price with the inclusion of two games and the PSP is also getting one - it's going to sell for $120, a new Siphon Filter game is supposedly underway and using the Killzone 2 engine (OMG HAX), Shadow of the Colossus Online will be announced, and Insomniac Games may be moving AWAY from R&C as well as Resistance to create ...
"Insomniac Games, the developer behind the popular Ratchet and Clank and Resistance franchises, is teasing some big news for tomorrow, according to their official Twitter account. "Preparing to reveal some news tomorrow about Insomniac...shhh!", their latest update reads. Could it be the highly anticipated announcement of the next Ratchet and Clank game? Perhaps a downloadable episode of Resistance, similar to what they did with Quest for Booty? Or maybe even just some company related news?"

"Insomniac is an incredible developer. They have 2 teams constantly working on seperate projects, and so far have managed to produce 3 full retail games and 1 PSN game in just 2 years for the PS3. And because of their development cycle and their work attitude, we have known a new Ratchet title will hit during 2009.
But while it's been known for quite some time that a new Ratchet game would be coming in 2009, details are still scarce on the title. Rumors have surfaced recently though that..."
"Spoiler alert! A new Ratchet & Clank game is coming next year. Upon completing Quest for Booty -- the downloadable Ratchet & Clank episode due on PSN next week -- 1UP was rewarded with ... more Ratchet & Clank; at least, the reassurance that there'll be a ninth installment in the franchise. The teaser (pictured above) supposedly appears after the credits roll and all but confirms Insomniac's intent to keep churning out sequels every other fall (the series is turning just "six" in November!), ..."

With a successful Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, Sony have announced that Ratchet and Clank will both be returning on on the console, however this time as a downloadable title from the Playstation Store. A few weeks ago a document was discovered which was apparently a schedule for PSN content. This list included such items as Warhawk: Operation Broken Mirror (already released), a update for Lair, a Resistance 2 trailer and a mystery item titled Ratchet: Quest for Booty. Due to some digging several of these items have been confirmed and as such the rest of list can be somewhat trusted.
IGN takes the concept of Super Smash Brothers and makes a list of the top characters for a PlayStation version of a multi franchise cross-over. While this is supposed to be a bit of a parody, the "Sony Skills" actually sound like they would work if a game like this was ever made. If they went the extra mile to get specific with each character's moves, it would make a perfectly legitimate rip off.
Recruiting workers in the game industry isn't that hard to do, as for many it's a dream job, however if by chance you've created a company and need some help that you can't seem to find, well then turn to Insomniac since as well as making games, they seem to know how to recruit... watch and see how working at Insomniac is like, and let me tell you, I sure would love to work there.
"Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has this week rolled the covers off what appears (at first glance) to be a rather tempting Pick N Mix retail deal that will see UK consumers able to snaffle the PlayStation 3 and two games for a total price of £349.99 GBP. Image credit: MNgilen."
"Several prominent industry figures have recently been quoted in a Games Radar report as claiming that after a year of the PS3s life cycle videogame developers are finally growing more accustomed to channelling the considerable capabilities hidden beneath its ominously rumbling hood."
"The critical popularity of flagship titles, mixed with continued fan attraction to established franchises and the introduction of valuable new IPs (intellectual properties), has also led to considerable commercial success. Software sales are on the rise to the tune of around $10.5 billion (through October) in the United States, while the UK gaming market has taken a total of around £1.52 billion during 2007."
"In the below video interview with two developers from Insomniac Games talk about creating Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. In the interview they are asked about things they had to cut from the game, which gives some interesting hints at Ratchet & Clank Future 2 about 2:30 minutes in.
To quote the answer: There were certain things in the story, characters that I wanted to address more in this part of the story arch that were not going to address until a later part of the stor..."
Every week Insomniac puts up the 'Full Moon Show Podcast'. Where they talk about various game news. In this weeks Full Moon Show the team talks about all the reviews for Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. They state that out of the 21 scores, only 4 are below 90% with 3 perfect scores.
But they talked about one specific review. The gamespot review. There respond to this review was:

GameSpot has just put up there Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools Of Destruction review, and to many peoples surprise, the game got a 7.5. This is the lowest score this game has gotten so far. Whats good about the game is it has fun shooting and platforming gameplay, lots of weapons and beautiful visuals. But what's bad about the game is the story isn't interesting, it has different and unnecessary gameplay mechanics and the game is overall too easy.
One of the first reviews for the highly anticipated Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools Of Destruction. The game is getting a lot of praise and the score reflects that. From the sound of the review, there are no technical problems in the game which is good.
Final Score=9/10
Good:
Reliably awesome gameplay
Minigames are actually fun
Next-gen isn't brown anymore
Bad:
Sticks a little too close to formula
No multiplayer
Space combat is kind of flat

Playstation Magazine has already written a brief review on the Playstation 3 game, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. They've given it a hefty 93/100, saying that overall, it is "intense, beautiful, and accessible. A return to the series roots and a stellar game indeed,".
The anticipated PS3 Ratchet & Clank is getting more closer to release as each seconds passes by and today Insomniac decided to reveal it's game's specifications. The game's size is at a very large 22 gigabytes from a 25GB Blu-Ray disc and runs very smoothly on 60 frames per second. The title will also support 720p and 1080i display settings on your hi-definition screens. The company also says that even with localizations, the game couldn't fit on a DVD9.
Fans of the Ratchet and Clank series have become fond of the weapon upgrades. But in Future: Tools of destruction, it will be a little different. It will a mixture of deadlocked and the previous games. Over use the weapons upgrade, but you can also add parts to your weapons just like in deadlocked. Also adding parts to your gun will unlock the ability to get another, very similar to the final fantasy XII system.
"One of the most anticipated demos PS3 owners have been waiting for, a Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction demo will be hitting the Playstation Store on October 4th. The demo will give gamers a taste of the opening level. Those who arent sure whether to pick the game up or not next month will soon be able to give it a free try in just a few weeks."

A Hands on impression for Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. He says its very similar to the past few games but with better graphics. The did change some of the game play elements so you can see how amazing the planet is. For example once you use a jump pad, the camera zooms out to show how big the world really is.
Some of the weapons that were in the demo were the disco ball wich makes your enemies dance and morhping gun that turns them into penguins.
We have for you, not one, but two new boxshots for two upcoming games. First of the boxshot we have is for Lair, a game that has been shrouded by bad reviews and delays.
Second, and most probably the most awaited Imsomniac game, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. Still to be given a rating, the colourful boxshot does bring back memories of previous installments of the game.
Get ready for a galactic adventure filled with explosive mayhem as the Ratchet & Clank series is making its PS3 debut this fall. Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction marks the beginning of a brand-new series of next-generation games for our gadget-building hero, Ratchet, and his brainy robotic sidekick, Clank.
Run, slide and free-fall through a bustling city that's crumbling all around you.
"Sony has confirmed to Game Informer that both Heavenly Sword and Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction will see demos on the PlayStation Network in the near future. So when exactly? Sony's Dave Karracker believes this week, and considering Europe is supposed to get Heavenly Sword on Thursday, we're betting we'll see the same here in the States."
"The dynamic duo set out on another adventure, this time taking on one of Ratchet's enemies who has tracked him down and wants him dead. The total game takes place in a bright, slick cartoon world that combines combat and platforming with cinematic camera angles and high production values associated with Disney/Pixar and similar animated films."

At this early stage, the game's graphics remain its most impressive feature. Built from the ground up on PlayStation 3 and powered by an overhauled proprietary engine, the game showcases sprawling and exquisitely detailed environments populated by an assorted cast of characters, mountains, oceans, fortresses..."
