In this week's installment of Top 10 Tuesdays, Matt Beaudette of Gaming Irresponsibly counts down the top Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network games.
Insomniac Games, the developer behind the popular Resistance and Ratchet & Clank series, provides a vague status update to one of their future titles.
Over the past decade, Sony has been quite active at creating new franchises for their Playstation platforms. Their stable of new intellectual properties are diverse and, more importantly, top notch in quality.
"Below is a list of the top downloaded items from the PlayStation Store for the week ending October 22nd. This week Call of Duty: World at War and Fallout 3 both dominate the chart. The number one spot is occupied by the latest COD: WAW Map Pack for the second straight week. Fallout 3’s add on content has been very popular over the past few weeks. Check back each week for the lastest and most popular downloads from the PlayStation Store."
"The NPD Group revealed the top retail sales of May 2009 some two weeks ago, and every month GamerBytes looks at what NPD numbers don’t cover: the games released via the Xbox Live Arcade and Sony's PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3.
We’re taking a look at the Top 10 PlayStation Network titles for May 2009, supplied to us through Sony's PlayStation press representatives. The PlayStation Network received 3 new titles during May – Puzzle Quest Galactrix, Zen Pinball and Texas Cheat’em, all..."
The extra content for LittleBigPlanet is still coming thick and strong, with no sign of letting up. Many games have made cameo's in the cooperative platformer, Playstation exclusive and not, and Ratchet and Clank appears to be next in line. The sources suggest it is substantial content, likely in line with the very well received Metal Gear Solid expansion pack.
"It looks as if we are in for a treat with upcoming Home Spaces from Insomniac Games. This time from the popular franchises of both Ratchet & Clank and Resistance."
The sequel's announcement was rumoured just hours ago, and would you believe it, the sequel has been confirmed and given a name. Coming this autumn to the stores (yes it's disk-based from what can be interpreted from the article) is the next R&C Game: Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time. See the full press release below.
"The recent Ratchet and Clank Future Weapon Design Contest “CQMBRHRCFWDCSG” adds much more validity to the rumor. Especially this comment made by James Stevenson on PlayStation.Blog last week:"
"Insomniac Games, the developer behind the popular Ratchet and Clank and Resistance franchises, is teasing some big news for tomorrow, according to their official Twitter account. "Preparing to reveal some news tomorrow about Insomniac...shhh!", their latest update reads. Could it be the highly anticipated announcement of the next Ratchet and Clank game? Perhaps a downloadable episode of Resistance, similar to what they did with Quest for Booty? Or maybe even just some company related news?"
"Insomniac is an incredible developer. They have 2 teams constantly working on seperate projects, and so far have managed to produce 3 full retail games and 1 PSN game in just 2 years for the PS3. And because of their development cycle and their work attitude, we have known a new Ratchet title will hit during 2009.
But while it's been known for quite some time that a new Ratchet game would be coming in 2009, details are still scarce on the title. Rumors have surfaced recently though that..."
"One is a pure, bubbly and pretty-as-pink princess who rarely reveals even the skin of her ankle. The other is a sassy, sexy and no-nonsense computer program who has spent her entire existence in the nude. Within the tightly linked and extraordinarily small world of videogame voice acting, however, these two women are the exact same person."
"Wait we still IN 2008?
The Christmas episode of Sony’s Pulse has given us the lowdown on which of the raft of games available on the PlayStation Network sold best in the last twelve months. Quite surprisingly - given the nature of the game - PAIN takes the number one spot, with the likes of the confusing flOw and the bizarrely-named High Stakes Poker Edition helping to fill out the rest of the places.
Strangely theres no mention of WipEout HD or PixelJunk Eden, but they could be slow-bu..."
Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty, the PSN add on for Ratchet and Clank Future : Tools of Destruction game's story, has now been sighted in shops at Gamestop in Ireland and England. This is rather strange, since the disc version was apparently canned back in August. If your into the games pick it up, its only £9.99
The PS3 continues to expand and make a wide variety of games that would be suitable for different ages. Baltimoresun.com has gathered a few reviews that would introduce this new games.
Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty tells about the escapade of a lost robot.
PixelJunk Eden starts in garden with a minuscule hero who can swing and jump from leaf to leaf.
Siren: Blood Curse is a story of a college student trapped in a Japanese Village filled with Zombies.
Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty is the PSN game touted as a epilogue between the first and upcoming Ratchet games on PS3. IGN have got their hands on the game and finally we get a taste of what this game is made of. Overall the game got a 7.4 out of 10 with a bit too much taken from Tools of Destruction and not much longevity (though you have to wonder what they were expecting) being the main problems. Apart from that it looks like a solid experience and a must for any R&C fan.
We've all heard about the title before, and we've finally gotten the details on the game today. Starting off where Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction left off, Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty sees Ratchet trying to discover what exactly has happened to Clank. It has been announced that the game will be releasing soon on the Playstation Network at a price of $14.99.
A long time back a list was floating around the Internet which was believed to be a schedule for the releases of PSN. Now one of the most interesting titles was titled Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty. Now this very same title has appeared on the ESRB website. Which means not only is pretty much confirmed as a new game or expansion pack but also that official details from Insomniac are likely only days away.
With a successful Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, Sony have announced that Ratchet and Clank will both be returning on on the console, however this time as a downloadable title from the Playstation Store. With no details other than the name (Translated name is "Ratchet & Clank: In Search of Treasure") be sure that more details will emerge shortly.
In a Live interview session with Eurogamer, Ted Price the boss of Insomniac Games was available to answer questions. During the interview when asked about the loading screens of Resistance 2, Ted Price responded with
Unfortunately the interview is now over (just as I finish typing up this article actually...
A few weeks ago a document was discovered which was apparently a schedule for PSN content. This list included such items as Warhawk: Operation Broken Mirror (already released), a update for Lair, a Resistance 2 trailer and a mystery item titled Ratchet: Quest for Booty. Due to some digging several of these items have been confirmed and as such the rest of list can be somewhat trusted.
