Record of Agarest War is a solid effort JRPG with a unique battle system, but it's far from perfect and far from the best. A game not without it's flaws.
From publisher Aksys games comes an epic adventure that spans five generations of strategy role-playing action full of heroes, battle and plenty of girls to keep you busy.
As a young hero named Leonhardt lay dying he is offered another chance at life, with one major catch, he must offer up his soul and that of his descendants to stop a threat that could destroy everything he holds dear. Players will take control of Leonhardt and each of his descendants, as well as choose a wife for the ne...
"Two hot racing demos are now available with today's update of the PSN Store. Split/Second for the PS3 takes you for a spin around a track that's rigged to explode to take out your competitors while ModNation Racers for the PSP is a highly customizable kart racer."
"In 1998, gamers were treated to a little game called Final Fantasy Tactics that showed just how awesome a properly done strategy RPG could be. In 2003, developer Nippon Ichi released the first Disgaea, which was a testament to how far the genre could be stretched. These two games have been the model for most modern strategy RPGs, which is understandable considering they’re both amazing games. So what would a developer need to do to raise the bar again? Well, I’ll tell you what they shouldn’t ..."
Record of Agarest War will be one of the most expensive Playstation Network games on the Playstation Store when it launches this Thursday on the Playstation 3.
"After a couple of slow weeks for game releases gamers can finally expect to see things pick up. In fact, this week is but a precursor to the month of May when the game releases get kind of crazy."
With suggestive screenshots and a "Really Naughty Limited Edition", it's no wonder so many gamers have mistaken Record Of Agarest War as nothing more than a sex-fest.
But according to Aksys' Cherie Baker, the game doesn't have any more sexual imagery or 'naughty bits' than the average T-rated game. In fact, people who buy the game expecting sex or nudity will be very disappointed.
Baker then goes on to discuss the game's more serious side, its T rating, and what extras the Playstation 3 ...
Aksys Games release of Record of Agarest War will come in a "Really Naughty Limited Edition." The set includes several trinkets including a mousepad adorned with one of the games female cast members. Guess where they put the gel cushion for the mousepad.
"Agarest: Generations of War is a Strategy Role-Playing Game that caused quite a stir when released in Japan as Agarest: Senki. Those hot blooded gamers loved the “Soul Breed” system within the game where the player is courted by three attractive females all vying to become your partner. Their affections are displayed via some saucy cut scenes and provocative images."
"Ghostlight did the smart thing, and asked fans to vote on the final design, and end result was more indicative of the game's content, if less univerally marketable. Aksys, the North American publisher, seems to be more knowledgable of its target audience, having chosen to go download-only, nixing English voice acting, and using this image as their teaser site header."
"Aksys Games Associate Producer, Michael Manzanares, was and said the following quote about the game, “This is one of those titles where morbid curiosity really hits you once see some screenshots. Instead of being nothing but cheesecake, Record of Agarest War turns out to have some length and girth to it. Color us surprised.”
The length part refers to a 100+ hours of gameplay and the multi-generation Soul Breed system where you procreate the next hero. Seems like a lot for a downloadable ga..."
"Ghostlight Ltd. has revealed that its debut on the PLAYSTATION 3 will be the forthcoming Agarest: Generations of War. Set for release in September, Agarest: Generations of War looks set to further enhance the European publisher’s reputation for bringing some of the hottest gaming properties from Japan to the European market."
Record of Agarest War was originally a PS3 SRPG that was released back in September of 2007. In Weekly Famitsu a couple weeks ago there was a small blurb that the game will be seeing a Xbox 360 port; now we get the first screenshots for Agarest Senki's 360 port: Agarest Senki: Rapier Lance. In this port, new scenes and scenarios were added to the mix. The game uses a standard-like SRPG control system, but the game's main draw is the "Soul Breed" system, where a new character can be created...
