THQ announced last week that they were ending the Red Faction franchise. Overall the series has done pretty well in sales and in reviews. But Red Faction Armageddon didn't live up to the success that Red Faction: Guerrilla generated, but with a few tweaks here and there THQ could have made Red Faction: Armageddon a must buy.

'Red Faction Battlegrounds' is a new domain, registered to THQ. It is currently unknown what console this game is going to be on, but rumors are saying that it is possible that THQ are trying to use of this new console to their advantage.

Today THQ announced that the first of three DLC packs for Red Faction Guerrilla will be available for download. The pack will be available on LIVE for 800 Microsoft points and PlayStation Network for $9.99.

THQ and Volition has put out a new trailer for their Red Faction: Guerrilla. It gives some additional setup to the game's plot and general storyline. This newest in the series looks to be released in June of this year on the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. If you have never played the first one and have an older machine about somewhere, you may want to give it a shot. The Geo-Mod features in the game made for some interesting gameplay. The sequel did not manage to live up to the original, unfortunately.
Volition and THQ has put out a new trailer from the upcoming FPS Red Faction Guerrilla. It is due out early next year from THQ. The game promises the use of an enhanced 'GeoMod' function, allowing players to blow holes through terrain and other destructible materials.

THQ's CEO Brian Farrell, has given a talk at the BMO Capital Markets Interactive Entertainment Conference to take a look at their goals for the next several months. The main concept, "fewer, higher-quality games".
