"Normally when I play a game the plot is the one of the most important things to me. So it feels really weird for me to say this, but I absolutely hated the plot of Red Faction: Guerrilla, but still consider it to be a really good game. It felt like every thing that could be wrong with the plot was, and yet I just didn't care because I was having so much fun."

All Age Gaming takes a look at the explosive third person shooter brought to us by THQ, Red Faction: Guerrilla for the Playstation 3. Is it a success or is the explosive shooter go off without a bang?

"July saw a steady share of excellent games as well as a few movie based bombs. Generally summer is a drought for good gaming, but 2009 seems to confound that logic. Here is a look at what we reviewed for the month of July."

This week's Zero Punctuation has Yahtzee taking on the multiplat title Red Faction Guerrilla, so go to the source to watch the video and enjoy the hilarity...

"Departing from the overpopulated and clichéd city streets of titles such as GTA IV, Saint's Row and Crackdown, Red Faction: Guerrilla prods the free-roaming, open-world sandbox concept in a completely new and fresh direction - the surface of a neo-futuristic, colonised Mars. Players are dropped into the midst of an escalating conflict between the Earth Defence Forces (EDF) and a guerrilla group known as the Red Faction. Stepping into the shoes of the new arrival Alec Mason, who is motivated b..."

"Well, the first game of the month is here. With so many big name games hitting Aussie shelves in June, after playing it for a week it’s a surprise to learn that the first of them may possibly be the best. I also got the chance to visually compare both 360 and PS3 versions of the game, but more on that later.

Red Faction: Guerrilla is the very loose sequel to the previous-gen Red Faction 1 and 2 first-person shooters. The name change should be a clue that this isn’t a direct follow-on or pr..."

"Set in a Free-Roaming interpretation of Mars, players are cast as Alec Mason, a newcomer to the planet looking for work, but after the murder of your brother the player soon becomes embroiled with the Red Faction resistance movement, in the midst of a rebellion attempting to wrestle control of the planet from the Earth Defence Force (EDF). To do so, players must liberate six zones on Mars, each with their own mission objectives, story twists and visual implementation."

"Here's a question you probably already know the answer to: do you like to blow things up? Yes? Well, then Volition's Red Faction: Guerrilla is for you, since smashing apart buildings and detonating large quantities of explosives is basically what it's all about. If you're familiar at all with the previous games in the franchise, reaching back to the original released in 2001, you'll find quite a bit different with this third entry. Guerrilla isn't a first-person shooter; it's a third-person a..."

"From Volition, Inc. comes Red Faction: Guerrilla, the first foray of this established series into the current generation of gaming. There has been no shortage of press coverage for this game, from discussions of the shift from a first person perspective to a third, to the variety of previews & videos released, and of course, one can’t neglect to mention the amusement generated by Volition’s surprise addition of the Ostrich Hammer. It will surely go down in gaming history as a classic weapon, ..."

"Explosions. Fun, aren’t they? While during this console generation, many action games have gotten far more tactical and precise. There’s at least one that remembers the sheer joy of fire, smoke and Havok-powered ragdolls flying through the air. Is it any suprise it’s coming from the same studio as Saint’s Row 2?

Note: Red Faction: Guerilla Demo is ONLY available to customers who per-order through selected stores until 23rd April, when it will be freely available through XboxLIVE and PSN.
