Red Steel is heading to the Playstation 2 and Xbox 360, at least according to PCP Productions. The digital creation company who has numerous partners in the game development industry may have unintentionally revealed the unannounced multiplatform title.
"Game PR gurus often promise things that aren't always delivered in their final games. Often caught in the pre-release storm of hyperbole, hateful buzzwords and excitable press releases, the marketing men commit their games to features or mechanics the developers just can't live up to. In a world of 22 hour days, sleep deprivation and divorce-baiting deadlines, shit happens. That seemed to be the case with the following failed preview pledges. They all got talked up (sometimes outrageously), b..."
It's all about the DS this week, fellas, ladies. Sure, there's a few notables for the other platforms (Rune Factory: Frontier on the Wii, Resistance: Retribution on PSP), but none of them can top a whopping six high profile titles, and of such a great variety. Three RPGs, one RTS, one shooter, one racer, and GTA: Chinatown Wars? Never been a better time to be a DS owner than now..
"Oh the Wii, the poor old Wii. It is doing so well for a company that in terms of home consoles was on the brink of doom after the slightly lacking Gamecube, yet it receives a lot of slack for its casual line up although at times it can be a little deserving of its negative praise (need I mention countless amounts of shovelware?). But today we honour those that went by with a bit of a fizzle, some promising that didn't quite meet the standard set by themselves, some fantastic games that didn't..."
"So, what of the Wii for the future? At Nometet.com we hope that game developers will wise up to whats good about the Wii, and make a game where you can wave your Wiimote about and make your own moves, where you can use the balance board to shift the centre of gravity of your character, leading to a sweet game not unlike Mirrors Edge only a lot more advanced. We predict said game will arrive at the same time as the nuclear apolocalypse. Or when people stop worrying about Sarah Palin. The a..."
GameInformer, the popular magazine about all things gaming that has somewhere near three million subscribers, always has a different game on the cover each time. MTV wanted to see if there was a GI cover curse, so they looked back into the past and pulled out magazines from 2-3 years ago.
One game titled Superman Returns didn't so well, receiving 6/10's. That's nothing compared to Fear and Respect, which was at one point on a GI cover, but ended up being canceled!
All in all, the game...
In an interview with industry newssite GamesIndustry, Ubisoft's executive director Alain Corre confirmed that there is a Red Steel 2 in development, and will make use of Nintendo's Wii MotionPlus 1:1 accessory that the company revealed at the E3 Media & Business Summit a couple weeks ago.
Corre hopes that with the Wii MotionPlus, they could rectify the mistakes that plagued the original Red Steel, which launched with the Wii back in November of 2006.

"Official Nintendo Magazine has today finally announced in their latest issue, that Red Steel has officially got a sequel. Called "Ubisoft's worst kept secret", they could finally tell readers that the game had been in development for almost a year.
Sadly, there wasn't any screen shots or any other information to report, but at least it's finally out in the open."
"Publishing giant Ubisoft today announced that it saw a 37.4 percent increase in its fourth quarter sales due to strong sales of TMNT across eight platforms and GRAW2 on Xbox 360. The company's fourth quarter sales beat projections, which is undoubtedly good news to investors, but Nintendo fans will more likely find the following news interesting.
Ubisoft also revealed that its Wii launch titles Rayman Raving Rabbids and Red Steel have respectively sold 830,000 and 950,000 copies around th..."
