Resident Evil and Kingdom Hearts are two of the best game franchises out there, but even powerhouses such as these are often prone to releasing a filler game or two...
With six main games, countless spin-offs, and a movie franchise that just received a 3D sequel, it seems as though the diverse and varied cast of Resident Evil will outlive the zombies it is known for. Here are the top 10 ever to grace our hearts...and our brains.
"Now when most people think of sexually attractive characters in gaming, they usually assume it’s only female characters. Developers know that the men of gaming also have to “look good” too. That’s why we’ve sprinkled in a couple of the hottest men in video games as well."
"When it comes to gaming, one thing is for sure, we like our female leads to be tough. The ability to kick zombie butt is always a bonus too. That's why this week we've chosen a character who's both tough and considered to be quite attractive in addition to knowing exactly how to handle herself when dealing with a possible zombie apocolypse. Like Jill Valentine before her, we've picked a lead from the world of corporations named after wet weather gear and viruses named after letters. This week..."
Resident Evil is the series that coined the term "survival horror", but in recent years the games have moved towards more action-oriented gameplay and stories, leaving the 'survival' and 'horror' behind.
While the Resident Evil franchise still manages to pull in sales, many fans feel that it has lost much of what made it such a popular series in the first place.

"As the next link in a chain of videogame-related action figures, it has been confirmed today that Capcom’s Resident Evil will be releasing some brand new “deluxe figures” this March. Albert Wesker and Chris Redfield are the first two characters set to be released, and though the figures are undoubtedly set to be highly sought-after, they won’t be coming cheap."
"Generally, the first rule when it comes to rescuing hostages is ‘don’t let everybody get horribly done in.’ But sadly, this proves too much of a stumbling block for many game heroes. Be it accidentally killing geriatrics with a killer virus or letting the damsel in distress get crushed by a cow, the following rescue missions all get botched. Spectacularly."
"I was 19 when Capcom released the first Resident Evil, fresh out of high school and in my gaming prime. I liked zombies and I needed a new game, so I popped it in to my Playstation and I have never looked back since. A true RE fan for life. Since 1996 both the video game and movie series have introduced us to some bonafide hotties. Here is a list of the Top 10 Ladies of Resident Evil (both pixilated and real). You can disagree if you want and you can think I'm a freak. It's a free country and..."

""We'll definitely be looking at a lot of titles that have things like Street Fighter and Resident Evil in the title," Kramer said. "We're thinking about putting together a long list of the titles we're looking at, and then releasing it on Capcom Unity and having people vote on them. Ultimately we're looking at bringing between 20 and 40 titles to the PSN over the next several months.""
"Video games allow us to enter worlds and scenarios in which we couldn’t possibly take part in in the real world. You may battle aliens on a distant planet. Or you may fight the Reich in a WWII shooter. The possibilities are endless, because what can be done in the realm of imagination is endless. So why do we continue to return to the same enemies that we’ve killed thousands of times before? The straightforward answer? Because they’re safe."

Capcom also introduced its plans for a new Resident Evil Classics line, which will bring the critically acclaimed Nintendo GameCube classics, Resident..."

"Be A Master of Unlocking:
If you find yourself trapped in a safehouse, eerie mansion or underground facility, chances are you are going to run into some locked doors. Fear not, for while there may be no keyholes and you possess no keys, that's probably just because a sinister corporation has devised an elaborate scheme to keep you from uncovering the truth. If you find any emblems, medallions, or strangely colored objects, it's a safe bet that they will be used to unlock the exact room that ..."
Capcom's 'head of character contents business', Toshihiro Tokumaru, recently speaking for a piece to be featured in Capcom's Investor Relations communication, has revealed the company licensing the movie rights to Resident Evil as they did was "unfortunate".
He implies they made a poor decision in passing over all rights with the deal, thereby losing all ability to use 'any finished product'. As such, "in the future, we'd like to create films where we retain the rights".

So here it is, a top ten list comprised solely of games that depict the inevitable forthcoming zombie apocalypse. You all know it's going to happen one day, so may as well get some virtual training in before it's too late!"
Many were hoping that Capcom's Resident Evil film would pump some life back into the series, and wipe the Milla Jovovich films from our minds, and what could possible go wrong when Sony Pictures were behind it?
Well, apparently everything, as Wired have given a film a mere 3/10.
...That's still better than the Jovovich films though :D

"Videogame characters are lazy, forgetful, or just plain stupid. Cutscene after cutscene, they exhibit planet-shaking combat abilities and a level of indestructibility which would make God himself jealous. But as soon as you pick up the controller? The Incredible Hulk turns back into Bruce Banner and all of those showboating tricks and superhuman powers disappear into the ether.
They're constantly saving their best tricks until we've already done all the hard work for them, and even if not,..."
Remember the good ol' days of the original PSone? Remember when the PSone's choppy graphics wow-ed us all? Some great series started way back when this console was only beginning, and many of those "series starters" are still considered to be better than the games that succeeded them. It's hard to believe that over a decade has passed since the PSone was first released.
Many new gamers wouldn't understand why Ridge Racer was fun with only one track, or why the original Resident Evil terri...
"Taking a page from Square Enix's successful release of "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" a couple of years back, Capcom and Sony Pictures Entertainment have announced plans to release their own full-length CGI movie based on the hit Resident Evil (a.k.a. Biohazard in Japan) franchise.
The movie will be titled "Biohazard: Degeneration", and will be the first full-length CG animation movie feature based on the popular video game series of games and movies.
Many will recognize Resident..."
