"Horror is a genre I never really explored in video games, but with the recent announcement of Resident Evil 6, I decided it would be rude not to talk about it. Most of my experience up until recent years was the terror of corrupted data, the fear I might somehow die before I reached the next save point and the concern that maybe, just maybe, I’d spent money on the wrong game and would have to spend the next few weeks exploring a terrible glitch-ridden world that bored me to tears. However, I ..."
Survival Horror games have really taken a turn from where they started. Graphics and detail have improved dramatically, but they don't really give you a legitimate fright. I explore games that have done it well and others that have done it not so well. We can get better experiences, we just need to make sure the developers know what we want.

"With prices these low on Capcom games, you can barely afford not to bash in the head of a zombie, or a human infested with a parasite that looks like a zombie. If you've been waiting to join your favorite caped crusaders in combat and their most treacherous arch-villains, now is a great time to jump in."

"The biggest offender is the Call of Duty series. $15 for 3-4 multiplayer maps. That just makes me laugh, then I get sad because there are people out there that actually buy it. And that is the reason why they charge that price. They KNOW they can get it because the same people will mindlessly open their wallets and snag the new content. (Just a quick mini rant on Map Packs in general. A rant inside a rant? Talk about mind blowing. Depending on how a map pack is implemented it can completely r..."

"When it comes to gaming, one thing is for sure, we like our female leads to be tough. The ability to kick zombie butt is always a bonus too. That's why this week we've chosen a character who's both tough and considered to be quite attractive in addition to knowing exactly how to handle herself when dealing with a possible zombie apocolypse. Like Jill Valentine before her, we've picked a lead from the world of corporations named after wet weather gear and viruses named after letters. This week..."

"Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Many people have a specific game reason when purchasing a console. You might have purchased a Super Nintendo because of Super Mario World or a Nintendo 64 because of Goldeneye 007. Many people finally went out and purchased a Playstation 3 because of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. This explosive PS3 exclusive game was one of the most positively received games of this generation and still ranks on many lists as one of the greatest games of all time."
While the Resident Evil series still manages to pull in sales, many fans feel that it has lost much of what made it such a popular franchise in the first place.

Gametrailers have reviewed the recently released Resident Evil 5 DLC, Desperate Escape and Lost In Nightmares. So are they worth the $5 price tag? See below to find out...
"Whether you'll like Desperate Escape or not depends on how much action you're looking for.

Capcom recently released the DLC Lost in Nightmares for Resident Evil 5, and it was well received my fans who loved the classic spooky nostalgia. All Age Gaming's Ian Crane looks at the new downloadable content for Capcom's Resident Evil 5. Is Lost in Nightmares & The Mercenaries Reunion worth the additional cost? Find out after the jump.
"Lost in Nightmares is a solid addition to the original games, and at five bucks, it is a worthy investment for fans who didn’t get their fill from the original game. While the episode may be a bit on the short side, it offers some nice replay value and great multiplayer features."
For everyone who already owns the bread and butter title, Capcom has released the new additions to Resident Evil 5 as downloadable content packs on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. The first of the new missions hit the PlayStation Network just this Thursday. Titled Lost in Nightmares, this new chapter follows BSAA Agents Chris and Jill through the original Spencer mansion on a dubious mission with a not-so-dubious climax.
"Originally meant to be in the game, this content was not finished and cut from the final version to add co-op into the game.”Lost in Nightmares” brings you back to that faithful day that Jill was said to be presumably dead and was only really shown in cut-scenes. The nostalgia is here, with an added mode via mercenaries reunion, it brings back some familiar extra’s. Fans of the series will surely want to get their hands on this."

Outstanding graphics and the addition of Co-op play to Capcom's long running Survival Horror series place Resident Evil 5 in our number 10 spot. "Originally made available shortly after Resident Evil 5’s PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 retail launch, Versus Mode caused quite a stir upon release. A debate raged as to whether or not the DLC was worth the asking price. Naturally, developers want their games to appeal to a wide audience. In some cases this means creating a game that incorperates elements from many different genres so that you end up with a product that will (in theory) attract the fans of each genre. "After many years of "tank" controls, static camera angles and increasingly formulaic gameplay, Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami knew it was time to reboot his franchise, so he and his team built Resident Evil 4 from the ground-up. The studio axed the controls, camera angles, nonsensical puzzles and even the iconic zombies that had populated the franchise from the beginning, and fans welcomed the sweeping changes with praise.
So, what changes should be made and in what direction should C..."
"SPOILERS AHEAD.
We thought this climactic scene from Resident Evil 5 could use some re-jiggering. Where the original scene feebly tugs at the heartstrings, our new improved version rips out your still-beating heart with razor-sharp claws and feeds it to you. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the defining scene of Resident Evil 5, stripped down to its raw emotional core. Enjoy!"
Ah, Capcom, they've given us some pretty iconic games over these long years. The publisher recently released a list of their 44 bestsellers, or games that exceeded 1 million units sold since release, up until the fiscal year ending in March 2009.
The top 10 aren't too surprising. These figures are for separate platforms, so multiplatform games may appear more than once. PS3 and Xbox 360 sales are lumped together.

""We'll definitely be looking at a lot of titles that have things like Street Fighter and Resident Evil in the title," Kramer said. "We're thinking about putting together a long list of the titles we're looking at, and then releasing it on Capcom Unity and having people vote on them. Ultimately we're looking at bringing between 20 and 40 titles to the PSN over the next several months.""
"Capcom has today announced that three of its blockbuster hit console games of 2009 will be coming to the PC beginning this summer. Bionic Commando, Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5 will all be coming to the PC."
It's a topic that has come up on various gaming sites recently... Many so-called "survival-horror" titles of this generation (such as Dead Space and Resident Evil 5) are taking more action-oriented routes to attract a larger audience, thus losing the "survival" aspect that many older horror games were known for.
But is survival horror slowly disappearing? Or is it simply evolving and adaptaing to suit a more mainstream audience? And if that's the case, is this change for the better?
Hong Kong company Hot Toys have released these awesomely detailed Resident Evil 5 figures of Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar. The figures also come with many weapons from the game.
There's currently no word on what the price will be, but no doubt they'll be expensive.
I'm not a big fan of figurines, but I'd be willing to fork out the money for that Chris one!

"Game PR gurus often promise things that aren't always delivered in their final games. Often caught in the pre-release storm of hyperbole, hateful buzzwords and excitable press releases, the marketing men commit their games to features or mechanics the developers just can't live up to. In a world of 22 hour days, sleep deprivation and divorce-baiting deadlines, shit happens. That seemed to be the case with the following failed preview pledges. They all got talked up (sometimes outrageously), b..."

From the moment I loaded up RE5 Versus, I found myself fantasizing about Mercs co-op instead (which is easily better than the main game itself). This lack of fidelity assured me that Versus just can’t offer the same blissful experience the rest of the game so readily provides.
Of course, if you’re that desperate to milk the most out of your RE5 experience, be my guest. In my opinion, you’re paying five dollars for a mode that really should have been on the disc in the first pla..."

"Considered to be the best game to come out on Nintendo’s purple cube, Resident Evil 4 took the series in a bold new direction and it paid off dearly. Everyone could have guessed at that point the overhead tank controls would be abandoned and move towards this more action approach, which was a great choice. Resident Evil 5 adopts this control scheme and runs with it dropping the the scary aspects of the first titles. Some might view this as the end of the series but I view it as continuing the..."
Angry-Gamers.net takes a look at how Capcom managed to turn a great game into a horrible disappointment and how Capcom has surpassed EA and Activision as one of the worst game developers around.
Capcom's vice president of corporate development and strategic planning, Christian Svensson, has rebuked claims that Resident Evil 5's DLC was just a "key" that unlocked the DLC that was already on the disc.
According to Svensson, the DLC "uses assets from the disc (like levels, models, audio, etc.) but the code is new and does not exist on the disc."

"“In late 1994, Capcom Entertainment in the US was starting to ramp up marketing plans for the game that would eventually become known as Resident Evil in the US. Capcom Japan had let us know that the name of the game was going to be ‘Biohazard’ in Japan, but I pointed out to the person who ran marketing at the time that it would be next to impossible for Capcom to register the name in the US.

"Load up yer muskets! Yesterday, Capcom finally released the long-awaited ( ::snickers:: ) RE5 Versus mode on the PSN and XBLA.
But wait! Judging from the itty-bitty file size of the newly-launched DLC, gamers are led to believe they’re merely buying an unlock code for the content, contrary to Capcom’s insistence that the content is a new feature separate from the package sold in stores."
"While Wii may be selling faster than tickets to an all boy choir being sold at a Catholic parish, the games have received very little fanfare on the review front. Outside of the occasional mini-game compilation and first-party titles, Wii has struggled greatly in North America to establish any sort of strong sales figures for third-party games that measure up to the console's install base. Hardcore and casual third-party exclusive titles for the Wii fall very flat in comparison to the PLAYSTA..."
"In such cases, DLC works a bit like expansions for PC games, extra content added after the fact. It's what most of us suspected DLC would be when it first came around for console games, but Capcom and Electronic Arts have recently rattled gamers by announcing planned DLC before their games are released."
"We are happy to announce that the wait for new Resident Evil 5 content is almost over! The new online multiplayer Versus mode will be available to download on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, April 7, 2009."

Don't know about you guys, but this is the one I've been waiting for. This week, Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw takes a stab (get it?) at Resident Evil 5. In short, he feels this installment takes a lot of what made RE4 a good game and crapped on it.

The game isn’t overly scary (though it definitely picks up in the later chapters), and I do miss the “THIS GAME CONTAINS SCENES OF EXPLICIT VIOLENCE AND GORE” disclaimer right before the title screen. Yet, RE5 makes up for the lack of freights with absorbing gameplay and intense arcade action.
Getting used to the clunky controls is the biggest problem, but the trick with RE5 is to learn to play it the way it’s meant to be played (e.g. use quick reload rather than reloading from..."
"Resident Evil 5 undoubtedly pursues this more action-orientated audience, whilst trying to appease the long time fans. It does an admirable job of pleasing both parties, though the replay potential for those so inclined may be more limited than previous outings. But then, those previous outings on less capable machines were designed for gamers, and this casual audience may have found themselves stopping short of completion within games that intently work against the player. "The long wait is finally over and Resident Evil 5 is finally out around the globe! But has Capcoms latest entry in their popular horror franchise lived up to its huge hype or is the undead series mutating too much from its origins to be true survival horror fun?

Today Gametrailers reviewed the recently-released Resident Evil 5. So is it worth the buy, or is it just a retred of RE4? ...
In theory, Capcom's Resident Evil 5 launch stunt was a fairly good and unique idea... Fake bloodied body parts were strewn across the city and avid RE fans had to search for them in hopes of winning a trip to Africa.
In reality, it didn't quite go according to plan, with limbs going missing, police being called and the entire stunt almost being out to a stop. Go to the source for the full article.

Yes, it might have created some of the single most important franchises in gaming; yes, it might be home to some of the most experienced, most talented individuals in the industry but its love of out-dated, counter-intuitive videogame "logic" and dogmatic refusal to adhere to any semblance of modern videogame standards is legendary. Bad news for Capcom. It looks like Resident Evil 5 has been leaked onto the 'net just days before it's release. Need incentive to buy Resident Evil 5? Well, this probably won't help then. Gamespot managers who break launch night sales quotas go in the running to win an official RE5 jersey.

"The fun doesnt end when you complete RE5s main story-line, comments the review. Were sworn to secrecy, but weve had a peek at an unlockable mode for forthcoming DLC, and its awesome.
Thus far, Capcom have done no hinting at what the possible DLC could be, but if the mag is so secretive about the content, it should certainly be a lot better than a handful of unlockable costumes."
Dan Stone of northernstar isn't a fan of Resident Evil 5's controls. However he doesn't think it's a design flaw ... He believes the problem is with the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
"We know for sure that Nintendos Wii got something right the PS3 and X-Box 360 didnt: innovative play control," he says. While playing the demo, Stone admitted he couldn't "help but have a burning desire to reach for a Wii Remote"

"If the frequency and causticity of online discussion is anything to go by, Resident Evil 5's Controls Guy (technical term) has surely become the target of office vandalism, or at least a wall full of passive aggressive post-it notes. In case you hadn't heard: Implausibly beefy protagonist Chris Redfield can't move and shoot at the same time. Nice going, incompetent Controls Guy!
To my mind, this infamous inability to move and shoot simultaneously is a miring of deliberate design, not "bad ..."
By now I'm sure we're all aware of Resident Evil 5's racism issue, but racial stereotyping is an issue that seems to go beyond beyond just one game.
Darion White, from Edge Online, takes a look at the way black characters are portrayed in video games, both the positive portrayals and the negative ones.
The article mostly focuses on newer titles, such as Resident Evil 5, Final Fantasy XIII and Metal Gear Solid 4, while also taking a look at the games of a decade ago, including Final Fantasy...
"Capcom probably didn't even think that the scene would be a problem, because most people realize that a Country that is going through what Kijuju is, (i.e. The infection of their citizens and subsequent transforming of them into violent murders) would expierence some civil unrest."
It's been almost a year since the claims that Resident Evil 5 is racist died down. Fans everywhere breathed a sigh of relief when the issue was finally forgotten about.
But with the recent release of the demo, it seems there are a few game-sites that aren't too happy with the racist themes and imagery that appear in the game.
And so, once again, the racism debate rears it's ugly head.

"Resident Evil 5 is, more than anything else, an evolution of a franchise once rooted in the survival horror genre. Spoken or not, it is a promise to gamers that Capcom can push their latest Resident Evil into the realm of action without losing the scares, the terrors that make the franchise so evocative. It is their stab at making daylight scary.
It was a brief play-through of the game, but what I saw has won me over. I went into the experience thinking that the shift from survival horror ..."
Since the Resident Evil 5 demo's release, fans have been split down the middle regarding the game's controls. Some think they're outdated and clunky, while others think there is nothing wrong with them. MTV Multiplayer's Patrick Klepek is in the former group. He believes Capcom have made an error in choosing not to update the controls of their newest game. He uses Dead Space as an example of what next-gen horror games should play like. Do you agree? In a recent light-hearted interview with The Guardian, Resident Evil 5 producer Masachika Kawata discussed the future of the RE series. When asked what location he wanted Resident Evil 6 to be be set in, Kawata joked "Why not London?". Which brings up the question, what type of location would fans like to see in the next RE game?
Kawata also believes that Resident Evil 4 was a deviation from the RE series, and that fans might not have been happy with that. As a result, he was eager to get ...

There are a bunch of new images from Resident Evil 5 today. Some feature a gigantic crocodile that looks mighty PO'd. The game is coming out in March and there is no word yet on a PC release. Currently it is set for the consoles only. This Resident Evil is set in Africa and chronicles the adventures of Chris Redfield as he fights crazy, mutating, infected villagers as well as beasts (like the aforementioned croc).
"The Resident Evil 5 demo that came out a little while ago gave the public a taste of what Capcoms been working on the last few years. If youve played it you were probably left wondering whether Resident Evil has turned into a Gears of War-esque shooter fest. Thankfully Ive had the chance to spend a good chunk of time with a preview build of the game, testing the first 3 chapters (which amounts to about half of the game), and it seems to indicate that the elements that folks loved about RE ..."

"With the recent two-tiered release of the Resident Evil 5 demo, almost a full three months before the game's launch date, Capcom has proven once again how they truly understand the video game industry and community. The company also has a deep back catalog of games going back to the days of the NES that they mine and refine for game ideas. While some companies could use this history as a crutch, Capcom als..."

We have already analyzed the best upcoming games for PC systems, PlayStation 3 consoles and Wiis, so if you didnt check them out already, now its a good time to do so. Otherwise, read on to find out our favorite upcoming Xbox 360 titles. Choosing just 10 games was (just as it happened with all the other platforms) pretty tough, but the list below should reflect the best of the best!"
"If Capcom is so adamant as to keep your tank controls to create a faux suspense level then the least they could do is give you a knock back feature, a la Left 4 Dead. As it stands now you make me stand, shoot, turn around, run, turn back around, shoot, turn around, run, turn back around, ad nauseum."
"The gaming community has a morbid fascination with death, and something is always dying. Apparently E3 is dead, PC gaming is dead, and some say the survival horror genre is dying. Most gamers readily admit that Resident Evil 4 is a great game, but no one is trying to defend it as a survival horror title. Indeed, the Resident Evil franchise has changed over the years, and we're a long way from where Capcom started."

As you can see, not only will the Boob Locator re-center the camera on Sheva's cans, it will also circle her bazongas with a reticle and then, if you are still unclear as to the precise location of her funbags, it will reposition her knockers in better lighting so that you can always be 100 percent certain of where Sheva's sweater balloons are at all times."
It seems PS3 owners get screwed again with multi platform games. Its understandable for a game to have 500MB install, or even 1.5GB install, but 5GB?! Thats just ridicules.
If you look through the back of the boxart, its faint but can be made out. It says you need about 5000MB of HDD space for install.
While the argument about buying a bigger HDD can be brought up, but that doesn't change the fact that developers shouldn't require such huge installs. Like mentioned earlier, at least 1...

Since there's no official word from Capcom as of yet, we'll have to still classify this one as a rumour, but the source is solid. ""Resident Evil"'s new movie, the CGI spin-off "Degeneration," is a true prequel to "Resident Evil 5." Set between the events of "Resident Evil 4" and "Resident Evil 5," this CGI film offers fans of the series just enough information to hold them over until the "RE5"'s March release. The movie even concludes with a cameo by Tricell, the already confirmed enemy corporation of "RE5." Gamers who are looking for back story on "RE5" can expect to see many features of "Degeneration" in the game."

"Theres a huge sense of confidence about this fifth installment. Capcom have used everything they learned with the previous game to build an even scarier and exciting adventure. The top seven life bars of all time is a bit of a quirky list, but a cool one! It contains such things as a pulsing heart and brain, spinal fluid and a face which gets bloodier by the second. In fact, one is even measured with a female's chest.
The Legend of Zelda Series took out first place with their class style of a series of hearts due to lasting a long time and one of the best remembered. This was followed by the loved classic Doom in second and somehow the Guitar Hero series in third.

"I am as excited for Resident Evil 5 as any of you, it will probably be my Game Of The Year for 2009, and as March is quickly approaching, the excitement has been building. Then I saw the latest TGS Resident Evil 5 trailer from TGS '08 . . .
When I saw the opening of this new trailer I honestly thought I was seeing a flash back to an older PS1 game, perhaps a earlier Resident Evil title done in HD (like the MGS1 flashback in MGS4). But no, this was Resident Evil 5.
I was shocked at the ..."
Spoiler Alert!
The Resident Evil series has been under a lot of scrutiny as of late; about the repetition found in the gameplay. But more than anything else, the concerns players have with the evolution of the story has been massive.
I too have been concerned with the story, and where it could possibly go from Resident Evil 4. That was, until TGS 2008.
Perhaps my favourite trailer of all time, this showcases and hints at some of the backstory for Resident Evil 5, and does a fanta...
"After my hands-on with the latest RE, I felt a strong urge to hurl my controller against a wall. Why is there a rigid inventory system? Why are their potted herbs everywhere? Why cant I walk and fire a gun at the same time? These mechanics feel like spoiled left-overs. You can try to defend these choices in two ways. Either way they were used to create a sense of suspense and horror to force the player to make quick decisions and to struggle with the environment around them or that these mec..."
Capcom has released a three-minute trailer for Resident Evil 5 which explains some of the backstory of the game. Has a chainsaw-wielding zombie, too, so that's cool. But the main draw point is the first appearance of everybody's favorite baddie, Wesker!

Behold, the age of the typewriter save system is at an end. Capcom will be implementing a much more user-friendly save system in the upcoming Resident Evil 5, one that doesn't involve lugging around a sack of ink ribbons.

Kotaku's Leigh Alexander goes in depth with the rise and fall of the survival horror genre. A look at how today's gamers are almost too impatiant to appreciate the ambiance and nuances of the genre and require constant stimulation - which is why they are drawn to games like Halo or Call of Duty.
Old favorites such as the Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and Fatal Frame series are unfortunatly a dying breed - it is up to us dedicated fans (I'm looking at your GothicGirl) to keep the genre alive.

Capcom's website for the upcoming Tokyo Game Show 2008 has went up today, along with the publisher's current lineup for the show:
In the past, box art was clean and simple, such as the Atari 2600's. Nowadays, we have these amazing designs for box covers, but what if the games we play today had the same covers of the Atari 2600? the-minusworld has created some, such as Halo 3 and No More Heroes.

Capcom recently voiced it's concerns over the potential "smear campaign" that the media may make against its upcoming games, (particularly Resident Evil 5 and Dead Rising Wii), due to the violence and gore that appears in those titles.
Capcom worry that "in the event of violent incidents and other criminal cases involving juveniles, we may be subject to a smear campaign by some sections of the mass media which often point out the correlation between crime and games".

Because they were religious !"
After revealing their Q1 results, Capcom held a Q&A session. While Capcom got further into the session, they said there not worried about any game giving RE5 a run for its money simply because it will be better.
New Resident Evil 5 screenshots have come out, and the screenshots mainly focus on co-op mode. The game releases February 13th 2008 in Europe, and North America both.

CVG was able to get their grubby hands on the highly anticipated title Resident Evil 5 and have kindly typed us up a preview.
They had plenty of good things to write, one of them being about the physics engine Capcom is putting in, saying that it adds "great deal to that 'oh crap' atmosphere." They also took about the dreaded zombies, who you'll be trying to fight off all the time.
CVG's only concern is the main one: The "awkwardness" of the game, saying that "it lacks the smoothness o...
Capcom has released a new trailer for Resident Evil 5 for the Leipzig GamesCon 2008 convention. Get a look at the next chapter in the Umbrella Corp. saga coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 via the source.
If you've been keeping tabs on the latest Resident Evil 5 trailers you would have noticed something rather ... odd. The majority of character and enemy animations are identical to Resident Evil 4. Opening doors, reloading guns, enemy deaths, jumping from ledges, etc are all the same.
Fair enough if Capcom don't want to fix what isn't broken, but there should be at least some improvement in a next-gen game. It's just lazy, otherwise.

"Capcom has promised that Resident Evil 5 is not about to shy away from gore in a bid to get a lower age certification.
Were never going to create a gore-free Resident Evil title to try and get a lower rating as its a game about the horror experience and gore is part of that, said Rhys Cash, Capcom UK's research and planning manager.
Were primarily about making great games and if its appropriate to the title we wont shy away from making a 15+ or 18+ title."

If you loved Resident Evil 4, then you will love this news.
If you were hoping Resident Evil 5 would be an upgrade for the series, you may be disappointed.
Justin McElroy of Joystiq got his hands on the demo of RE5 at E3... and he didn't know whether to be disappointed or thrilled. The game looked beautiful and the gameplay was good, but he felt it was almost identical to RE4's gameplay and not the "evolutionary step forward" he (and fans) might hope for.
It seems McElroy isn't the only...
Professional game designer, Scott Slomiany is a fan of survival-horror games and he believes that, while Resident Evil and Silent Hill are both fantastic series, they don't deliver much in terms of "horror". He finds it hard to feel scared for Resident Evil's characters when they are at such an obvious advantage against most of their enemies, and Silent Hill delivers a mostly "weird" or "bizarre" atmosphere rather than a scary one.
So what does Slomiany believe the best example of survival-h...
At E3 in the Los Angeles Convention Center, everyone is loving how RE5 is looking, but some people don't like the fact that the game is using RE4's controls. Despite Capcom claiming that Resident Evil 5 was not redesigned after Racism claims, it seems they have now bowed under pressure and decided to add more white characters to the game. It is especially noticeable that the racism claims got to them, as the game is set in an area of Africa where it wouldn't be likely to see white villagers.

Capcom is doing anything to get rid of the racism claims that have been surrounding Resident Evil 5 since it's first trailer was released.
First Capcom revealed the apparent reasons for RE5's setting in Africa, then they announced that the game has not been redesigned after the racism issues arose.

When we play a Survival Horror game we want to feel scared. Not only for ourselves, but for the character we are playing as.
But what actually makes us scared for Survival Horror characters? Why do we want them to live through the horrors that they are faced with? And what happens if we aren't scared for them?
Chris, from Chris's Survival Horror Quest, takes a look at why gamers feel genuinely scared for their survival horror protagonists.

"Capcom producer Jun Takeuchi has said that Resident Evil 5's main development platform is the PC. When Eurogamer asked Takeuchi why Capcom was showing the Xbox 360 build of Resident Evil 5 instead of the PlayStation 3 verseion at Capcom's Captivate 08 event, Takeuchi said that since Capcom was asked to show RE5 up and running on a console, due to their hardware similarities it was just faster to port the PC build over to the Xbox 360."

Capcom have released new screenshots of Resident Evil 5, plus some renders of the "mysterious woman" partner (and she has been officially dubbed). Her name hasn't been revealed yet, nor has her purpose in the game. At least we can now safely confirm that she isn't Claire or Jill.
The new zombie screens also show an odd ability that the enemies will use against you: Face sucking!
After the release of Resident Evil 5's first trailer, claims of racism ran rife, with many people claiming that the black characters were depicted as "inhuman savages".
But with the release of a new trailer there was a noticeable difference in the game's tone. Chris now had a black side-kick, and both white and black people were portrayed as enemies. So was the game redesigned after the racism claims? Capcom says it wasn't ...

With Resident Evil 5 coming along, the Producer, Jun Takeuchi has gone to state how the Sixaxis controller is not a viable option for aiming in Resident Evil 5... however it should be noted that the comment is in response to a question asking if it would be possible to use the PS3 controller in a similar fashion to how the WiiMote was used in RE4: Wii Edition.

In the recent Famitsu issue here are the top 20 games most wanted from Japan's biggest games magazine. Forget the racist comments against Capcom's Resident Evil 5 and how they are biased to black people. Living people can defend themselves, but dead people cannot. A little while ago, you may have heard the article on Resident Evil 5 being racist. Richard Windsor of Aeropause has written a little article on why the reasonings are pointless and wrong.
First of all, it's developed by the Japanese and the Japanese are not racist to black people. Second, there are white zombies and the woman that wrote the article said that killing white zombies is fine. Third, zombies are not civilized, so obviously, they need variety. Most of you who have seen the trailer would have guessed it already. Yes the guy in the trailer is in fact former S.T.A.R.S member Chris Redfield. Now working for an organization by the name of BSAA he is sent to the location on the trailer to investigate happenings there.
