"Now when most people think of sexually attractive characters in gaming, they usually assume it’s only female characters. Developers know that the men of gaming also have to “look good” too. That’s why we’ve sprinkled in a couple of the hottest men in video games as well."

"When it comes to gaming, one thing is for sure, we like our female leads to be tough. The ability to kick zombie butt is always a bonus too. That's why this week we've chosen a character who's both tough and considered to be quite attractive in addition to knowing exactly how to handle herself when dealing with a possible zombie apocolypse. Like Jill Valentine before her, we've picked a lead from the world of corporations named after wet weather gear and viruses named after letters. This week..."

While the Resident Evil series still manages to pull in sales, many fans feel that it has lost much of what made it such a popular franchise in the first place. But while the more action-oriented gameplay and lack of horror elements have upset many longtime fans, they aren't the only reasons the series might need a complete reboot.

NoRoomInHell takes a look at the most recent installment in the series, Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles, and how it proves Resident Evil games need to turn ...

According to Capcom's latest financial report, the company was disappointed with the sales of Okami (Wii) and Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles.
However, they were pleased with the "satisfactory" sales of Monster Hunter 3, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite PSP the Best, Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth, and Mega Man EXE: Operate Shooting Star.

Despite Capcom and SEGA claiming that mature games don't sell well on the Wii because there is no audience for such titles, Silent Hill: Shattered Dreams's lead designer Sam Barlow believes there is a very different reason for the lack of sales...

"Following the rumour that Capcom was no longer interested in developing videogames for Wii, spurred on by disappointing sales of Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, Capcom Europe has today delivered a statement. Denying the report, the publisher reaffirms it’s commitment to being a multi-format developer and publisher."

After Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles recieved low sales on the Nintendo Wii, it looks like Capcom are now considering which platforms are best for their future.
In a recent interview with Gamekult.com, the Director General of Capcom France, Antoine Seux, admitted that the company's target audience simply isn't with the Wii anymore and that "for us, Capcom, the future is the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360." That doesn't mean gamers won't see any more Capcom games on the Wii console, but ...

"Bishop Bryant of Jarrow, Archdeacon Brian Smith and Rt Rev John Goddard have all accused the game of promoting such interests amongst the UK’s youth, with the latter stating: “If we dabble in this area we open ourselves to influences and put ourselves at risk. I would regard any encouragement for children to be drawn into this behaviour with extreme horror.”

Capcom spokesperson Leo Tan, however, is less convinced about the proposed risk: “This is scaremongering and typical religious hyster..."

"The story is well told and is very fluid. You'll find yourself going through parts of "Operation Javier" as well as revisting Raccoon City and Rockfort Island in the process. The transistion is smooth and never once feels forced. All this adds to a superb experience without having to switch menus or fuss about selecting a map, although the option to do that is also available. The Games menus are easy to navigate but one quarry I had with the menu was the design. I loved the rural..."

Gametrailers recently reviewed the upcoming rail-shooter Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles, praising it's "memorable" scenes, "packed with detail" graphics and nostalgia, although they weren't too pleased with the game's lack of originality, "cheesy" dialogue and "over-active" camera...

"So far we’ve seen small snippets of the Leon & Krauser scenario in Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles but now Capcom has given us a nice meaty look at the game as well as some new images. If you were already hyped up about this scenario then I think this new media will put your hype level into overdrive.

"The Resident Evil series has spawned many spinoff titles in recent years but one in particular stood out, and it was an on-rails shooter for the Wii entitled Umbrella Chronicles. The game allowed players a chance to play through Resident Evil 0, 1, and 3 through the eyes of the characters in the series. Unsurprisingly the on-rails gameplay was a perfect fit for the Nintendo Wii, allowing two players to fight side by side using their Wii-motes. The game got decent reviews, and was a welcome M ..."

It is the opinion of Neoseeker writer Lydia Sung that Nintendo has in recent years fallen a bit off the wagon, so to speak. Okay, a lot.

Citing her experiences at E3 this year, some of the company's contradictory statements and actions, and support of the mature audience (or lack thereof), she divulges on how Nintendo has missed the mark in a lot of ways, and touches on how they can fix it.

Many previews have shown concern over the addition of a "shakey cam" in Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles. But while it might create tension in a Hollywood horror movie, is it a good idea to have "shakey cam" in games? Or will it just cause frustration?

IGN got their hands on a demo the upcoming Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles at this year's E3, and they weren't impressed. The demo apparently had many issues with controls, lag and a jittery camera, with IGN claiming that it wasn't an improvement on Umbrella Chronicles. It was actually worse!

IGN put most of their worries down to the likelihood of the demo having early build issues. Let's just hope these issues are cleared up before release!
