It appears that Capcom may be working on a third Resident Evil title for the Nintendo 3DS - rumors suggest that "Resident Evil: Downfall" is in the works. Check out more details and speculation in the full story on Game Freaks 365.
The following blog discusses how we fail to remember that looks aren't everything, and even brings us back to the days of the Nintendo 64 - a hugely successful console - when graphics weren't as important as enjoyability and gameplay.
"Some long-time Resident Evil fans might long for the "good old days" of the franchise, when early games in the series were deliberately-paced, nerve-wracking explorations into a "world of survival horror." Today, the series' emphasis is on action that rarely lets up.
But while there are those who'd love to see a return to classic Resident Evil gameplay, the market for that style -- "survival horror" -- just isn't viable enough to warrant the biggest investments, Capcom's Resident Evil: Rev..."
How does this handheld Resident Evil title stack up to its predecessors? According to Cliff from Game Freaks 365, Resident Evil: Revelations for the Nintendo 3DS "...[delivers] a tense, beefy campaign and a terrific multiplayer component...Think no less of it as a handheld game than you would if it were on consoles – Revelations is definitely the next chapter in the franchise, and serves as an important part of the story leading up to Resident Evil 6."
After messing up the spelling for Resident Evil: Revelations, Capcom does it again! But this time, with their own name! Meet Capcpcom! What will they mess up next?
"“The incredibly positive fan reaction to Revelations has definitely given me motivation to make another 3DS RE title.”
“I have some ideas in mind. However, I have a lot of other projects that need to be taken care of first.”"
Hooray for more Resident Evil! This review shows you some more insight - along with some bulletpoints worth noting - to the previous MTV Multiplayer review released a few days back. Take a look at some of the pros and cons of being a Nintendo 3DS gamer of 2012.
It seems as though there will be a mixture of both positives and negatives from the future 3DS release - the return of Jill Valentine as a playable character sounds very reminiscent, and who better to partner her than Chris Redfield? But by the sounds of it, the game wears thin after a few hours of gameplay; the very sad nature of most horror games of the 21st century.
In this episode, celebrating a year of podcasting, the guys talk about the Vita, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Syndicate, Kingdoms od Amalur: Reckoning, The Darkness 2, Gotham City Impostors, the "Epic Quest" Pinball FX2 table, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Resident Evil Revelations, NeverDead, Quarrel, Block Zombies!, the Double Fine Kickstarer business, and plenty more!
"Happy Monday, folks! Can you believe it’s almost March? Wow, goes by fast, eh? We’ve also reached five episodes of the Primecast in that kind of time. That’s practically a month! Celebrate by listening to this week’s episode, in which we discuss our impressions of the PS Vita, the necessity of sequels, and the state of new games in the industry. Things get pretty heavy again this time, but we still have a good time talking about it. You get to also hear my woeful tale of trying to get ..."
"No ammo left, encircled by screaming enemies and clutching one final grenade. If that were a scene from the campaign of Resident Evil Revelations, it would be far more appropriate to call it a survival horror game. Horror is definitely something the game inspired, but not through the story or the atmosphere, sadly. The problem is, if I were reviewing the game’s campaign and only the game’s campaign, then this would be a short and bitter piece to write. In reality, the game in its entirety has..."
"Yep, it’s Resident Evil, back for a second foray on the Nintendo 3DS. But unlike last year’s Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, which often felt like a shooting-gallery demo stretched out to unreasonable limits, Revelations is the complete package and then some. In addition to a deliciously spooky ten-plus hour campaign, a new Raid mode finds you earning upgrades as you mow down endless (and increasingly powerful) enemies."
"Playstation fans who pre-ordered a Sony Vita had a brief chance to brag about the two fancy joysticks on their portable gaming system, but as of today the 3DS has a new Circle Pad add-on which lets Nintendo’s latest gadget use the twin-stick set-up that has been the gaming industry standard for years. How does this unwieldy accessory live up to gamers’ expectations? We tried it out on Resident Evil Revelations and here’s our review. The good news is that it genuinely does what it claims to..."
"Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D came out shortly after the 3DS launch and was greeted with mediocre critical response. Much of the criticism was over the save system (Which wouldn’t let players delete their game) rather than the actual gameplay itself. With the next Resident Evil game out on the 3DS now, the DoEE examines The Mercenaries to determine if it remains as anything other than a placeholder."
Terror returns aboard the Queen Zenobia cruise ship in the latest in the Resident Evil series for the Nintendo 3DS in an all-new storyline taking place between the events of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5.

"GamingUnion: "The Resident Evil franchise has been going through a bit of a transition phase as of late. While Resident Evil 4 revitalised an entire genre, almost everything that's followed since has done anything but that. With Resident Evil: Revelations on the Nintendo 3DS, Capcom were hoping to buck that trend, promoting it as a game that returned more the core roots of the franchise and on many levels, it does that. Just don't expect any Revelations.""
Several Japanese launch screenshots have been revealed by the Japanese branch of Capcom for their Nintendo 3DS exclusive title, Resident Evil: Revelations.
"A noteworthy option is a menu that lets players increase the intensity if the 3D effects beyond the usual settings of the device. This has a High and Very High setting, and when playing on Very High with the slider at the maximum position the game creates an amazing sense of depth; inventory items appear to pop out, first person targeting is much more exciting and the blood splatter effect when wounded becomes more gruesome. Unfortunately this also aggravates the eye strain that often comes..."
"Horror is a genre I never really explored in video games, but with the recent announcement of Resident Evil 6, I decided it would be rude not to talk about it. Most of my experience up until recent years was the terror of corrupted data, the fear I might somehow die before I reached the next save point and the concern that maybe, just maybe, I’d spent money on the wrong game and would have to spend the next few weeks exploring a terrible glitch-ridden world that bored me to tears. However, I ..."
GameRabies downloaded the eShop demo for Revelations and overviewed how well the game seems to be doing as far as: controls, gameplay, graphics and story. Since this is one of the more anticipated titles in the 3DS arsenal, the team quickly jumped at the opportunity to deliver its impressions of the title.
Capcom released today five minutes of the story mode in the upcoming Resident Evil Revelations for the Nintendo 3DS. It releases February 7th in North America.
NoobFeed.com notices the little byline underneath every demo released today on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. It seems people that want a taste for free will not get to try before they buy as much as they want. Nintendo is keeping tabs on how many times the demo is launched and supply is limited.
Make sure you check out the eShop tomorrow for "tasters" of 3DS titles like Resident Evil: Revelations and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D! Check the full story on GameRabies for more details and the full list of game demos that will be available.
Nintendo announced that the new 3DS Circle Pad Pro peripheral that will add a second analog stick to the handheld will be a GameStop exclusive. You can purchase it both in GameStop stores and their website.
Capcom has released a new video for Resident Evil Revelations that introduces us to the Federal Bioterrorism Commission to discover the involvement of the Veltro terrorist group in the attack on the city of Terragrigia.
The 3DS Circle Pad Pro attachment will be bundled with "special, limited edition" copies of Resident Evil: Revelations when it launches next February in Europe. No confirmation of a similar American bundle, but more details are found in the full story on GameRabies.
Several new screenshots featuring Shiva Alomar have been revealed for the upcoming Nintendo 3DS exclusive survival-horror title, Resident Evil: Revelations.
Capcom revealed a new Resident Evil: Revelations trailer for TGS 2011, introducing a new female character named Rachel. Check out the teaser and the full article for more details and debate about Rachel and the upcoming survival-horror title.
NoobFeed.com celebrates Gamescom with Capcom, whom has released an absolute truckload of assets for just about any title at Gamescom. Street Fighter x Tekken, Devil May Cry, Resident Evil or even Steel Battalion; they all get some shiny new vids.
"As crazy as it sounds, two new entries in the Resident Evil series are heading to Nintendo's newest handheld. Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D drops next Tuesday, and Resident Evil: Revelations is currently slated for a 2012 release. With two RE games headed to the same system, it's only natural that comparisons should arise. I've already played my way through my retail copy of Mercenaries (my full review goes live Tuesday, June 28 at 8:00am PST) as well as two different demos of Resident Ev..."
"Hopefully by now you’ve had a chance to see some of Capcom’s bigger titles this E3. There are some exciting new games coming from the studio, but we wanted to remind our readers of some of the hidden surprises over at Capcom’s booth. Some of these games are serious business, so you better get over here and check them out."
onPause.org reports that the 3DS titles for Nintendo World 2011 in Tokyo have been detailed which include high profile titles like Kid Icarus: Uprising, Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition and Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid Snake.
"Now when most people think of sexually attractive characters in gaming, they usually assume it’s only female characters. Developers know that the men of gaming also have to “look good” too. That’s why we’ve sprinkled in a couple of the hottest men in video games as well."
"When it comes to gaming, one thing is for sure, we like our female leads to be tough. The ability to kick zombie butt is always a bonus too. That's why this week we've chosen a character who's both tough and considered to be quite attractive in addition to knowing exactly how to handle herself when dealing with a possible zombie apocolypse. Like Jill Valentine before her, we've picked a lead from the world of corporations named after wet weather gear and viruses named after letters. This week..."
"Masahiro Sakurai sure has been in a talkative mood with Official Nintendo Magazine this week, hasn’t he? The mastermind behind Kirby and Super Smash Bros. has been especially chatty about his debut 3DS title, Kid Icarus Uprising. In addition to commenting on how Pit’s new weapons and abilities will make him feel like a brand new character, and how working in three dimensions makes it difficult for him to ever consider going back to 2D, the rejuvenated director has now listed his biggest sourc..."
It seems that history is only doomed to repeat itself with the launch of the 3DS concerning the Capcom games. When Metal Gear Solid 4 was confirmed for the PS3, it was considered a "Show stopper" although wasn't actually released for the console for another two years after the consoles release. The same grim future now looks the same for Resident Evil Revelations and Super Street Fighter IV 3D for the 3DS.
"Good to know about the 3DS games, even if it's news that there's no good news on these games are still a ways out. (Their fiscal year ends next March so no shocks here.)
It is too bad that Resident Evil PSP wasn't in their FY analysis/QA. I was hoping to get some kind of word on that game tucked up in some financial statement or offhanded comment (I have little hope that it's still in the works, though guesses are that it was what the 3DS game has become,) but it appears that this game wil..."
At this year's E3, Capcom revealed the surprise new title Resident Evil Revelations for Nintendo 3DS. Here is the debut trailer...
"Resi’s batting average on portable formats is frankly shit. So far, we’ve been treated to the horrors of the GBA’s Gaiden and a shoddy iPhone port of the best game in the series.
Thankfully, it looks like the 3DS and Revelations could change all that. With a terrifically moody setting, interesting plot dynamics and the prospect of 3D scares, we’re hopeful this will top the last, slightly disappointing African adventure."
