"Sure, 2011 is in the rearview mirror, but that doesn’t mean we’re done looking back on the year. Sony recently its list of the year’s top-selling games and downloads on the PlayStation Network, and the titles on that list might surprise you — mainly because most of them weren’t released in 2011."
"The achievements for the HD remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica X were released last Friday and the achievements for the HD remake of Resident Evil 4 have now been leaked online. The HD remake of the game will feature achievements that total 1000 gamer points, just like Code Veronica. Check out the achievements below."
Resident Evil:Essentials is being ported to PS3 and 360 in HD. The essentials pack contained Code Veronica X, Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Outbreak. An interesting note is that Outbreak is not included in this new "Revival Pack" does this mean that the rumors of a new outbreak are true? Or does capcom simply hate us? Either way check the source for more info!
"Remember the first time you played God of War (you did play it, right?) and, with the evil hydra finally at your mercy and an on-screen prompt, you pressed some buttons and totally kicked that sea creature's ass?
Yeah, it was pretty great when God of War did that and you hadn't played a Quick Time Event (QTE) since Shenmue. When David Jaffe's violent love-child re-popularized QTEs, at least the game did them right. See, a Quick Time Event's purpose is to allow for a moment of more cinemat..."
A man dressed as Resident Evil's HUNK for the Crypticon Horror Convention's "zombie crawl" was recently taken into custody after bystanders mistook him for a masked gunman as he walked into the Metro Clothing store.
A dozen police cars pulled up to the scene with guns drawn. But after realizing their mistake, they issued "Jay" with a disturbance order and soon let him go.
His costume consisted of a black Umbrella Corporation security outfit, knee pads, a knife, a grenade, a gas mask, a...
""We'll definitely be looking at a lot of titles that have things like Street Fighter and Resident Evil in the title," Kramer said. "We're thinking about putting together a long list of the titles we're looking at, and then releasing it on Capcom Unity and having people vote on them. Ultimately we're looking at bringing between 20 and 40 titles to the PSN over the next several months.""
It's a topic that has come up on various gaming sites recently... Many so-called "survival-horror" titles of this generation (such as Dead Space and Resident Evil 5) are taking more action-oriented routes to attract a larger audience, thus losing the "survival" aspect that many older horror games were known for.
But is survival horror slowly disappearing? Or is it simply evolving and adaptaing to suit a more mainstream audience? And if that's the case, is this change for the better?
In a recent Gamegrep article, Next-Gen previewed Fatal Frame IV detailing most of what we know about the game so far. But a small tidbit of new information regarding the gameplay is what stood out for fans of the series.
Apparently Fatal Frame IV will have similar controls and over-the-shoulder camera angles as Resident Evil 4, (which is a considerable change from the previous FF games which all had a fixed-camera and more traditional survival-horror controls). Is this the first sign of Sud...
"Three sisters and a camera on a haunted island? Sounds about right.
Plot: The game is set in the mysterious Rougetsu Island, where five young girls of the Minazuki family were kidnapped in the past. Two of the girls later died, while the remaining three - Ruka, Misaki, and Madoka - have decided to visit the island in an attempt to remember what happened during that incident. The magazine reveals that players will take on the role of Ruka and venture around the mansion in the island, which..."
"While cute isn't a word we'd normally associate with Resident Evil, it's probably the best way we can describe the Resi 4 Wii Edition trailer that publisher/developer Capcom has just released. Point your eyes here to see exactly what we mean...
The picture perfect rent-a-bodies and their clinical show home apartment are unarguably easy on the eye, but we were mostly interested in checking out the snippets of game and, yes, it definitely is Resi 4, but with an unmistakably shaky Wii crossha..."
