Insomniac are now officially stepping down as developers of the first-party Resistance franchise. Will the series continue or fall in to the annals of history?
A retailer is currently discounting Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection, God of War: Origins Collection, Resistance Dual Pack Greatest Hits and Uncharted Greatest Hits Dual Pack to under $25.

Insomniac Games has released a short response to a fan of the series claiming that the upcoming Resistance 3 has “no graphical improvement” over Resistance 2.

In games there are stories and great stories. This takes a look at a game who had a great story, but it wasn't the main story. It was going on behind the scenes and was more captivating than anything else in the game.
At long last the greatly anticipated and rumoured sequel to Resistance 2 has been confirmed. Gamescom has announced that 2 years after Resistance 2 was release, that a third game was in the works. With the logo being shown on a billboard months before this revelation and hundreds of fans nationwide speculating of the games existence, we can not sleep easy basking in the knowledge that it's actually been confirmed.
Insomniac Games, the developer behind the popular Resistance and Ratchet & Clank series, provides a vague status update to one of their future titles.
Four of the latest Greatest Hits games on the Playstation 3 are being bundled with a DualShock 3 controller in May and will be sold along with the peripheral for $59.80.
"As we reported yesterday, Sony is adding new games to the "Greatest Hits" collection. However, Sony has now confirmed that there are ten games getting added and not just the five that were showin in the Wal-Mart flyer. Expect to start seeing the fancy new red boxes and $29.99 prices at retailers in the next couple of weeks."

Sony recently sent out a survey to registered users asking them about their experience with Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2. They also mentioned Resistance 3 in the questionnaire.
Yesterday images leaked over the internet of the new skin pack for Uncharted 2. Today, Naughty Dog confirmed this on the Playstation Blog and it will be released on Jan. 28th. The skin pack lets you play as Nathane Hale or a Chimera from Resistance2, A Helghast or Sev from Killzone 2 and as Evil or Good Cole and Zeke from inFamous. The pack will be priced at $4.99.
Resistance 2 was an overall good game. But to the fans of the series felt that the game was somewhat of a failure. It could be from multiple reasons why gamers believe this, its been discussed many times on forums through out the internet. And now Insomniac has responded. Saying they are happy with the reviews for the game, but not happy about how fans felt about the game. And senior community manager James Stevenson said it was like a dog turning on them, and it quite hurt.

We have all wanted them, ever since we played LittleBigPlanet we wanted out own plush Sackboy. ToyCyte tried with action figures, but they got it all wrong. Now Sony has made a deal with Impact to create plush toys, along with many other accessories of LittleBigPlanet.
Alongside that, they will also create accessories for other popular PS3 titles such as Resistance, GOW and Motorstorm.

Taking 5 days and 100 hours of blood sweat and tears, one Resistance 2 fan has made a scale model of the Chimeran sniper. The Marksman. The model has a detachable ammo clip, ammo counter and a laser guide.

Many companies have used Home to promote there games, and the best way to do that is to create our own Home space. Insomniac announced a while ago that they will be working to create home space's. Now Insomniac has announced that they are bringing a Resistance Home space. It will be released this Thursday and be sure to check out the video after the jump.

It was revealed that information relating to the Resistance 2 DLC and Update would be releasing on March 25th, and they have done just that, and to boot, the update for Resistance 2 has been released today.

Some may have been disappointed by Insomniac's last bit of news but it looks like we'll finally be getting some news on the future of Resistance 2 this coming week as well as at the GDC. Info on future updates as well as downloadable content will be present, and should be available soon after.

Though a game with not many bugs as such, there have been a few issues with trophies not being given when the requirements are met, and then there are some stats related bugs. Insomniac have as with Resistance: Fall of Man continued to support the game and release another patch for the game fixing many of the issues encountered.

In what can be described as a Christmas Treat From Insomniac, we will today be given a couple of treats on the Playstation Network. Included in the treats are the following:
Fans of Resistance will be very pleased by this bunch of info released about some of the additions to the series. First off is PSP title Resistance: Retribution, with a likely release date, price and boxart. Next is the upcoming novel Resistance: The Gathering Storm with a release date, price and the final cover art. Finally are the Resistance Comics with a release date, cover art for the first three issues and more general info made available.
And they say Sony has shitty advertising? In a rather interesting advertising campaign in Ireland stories of the Chimera invading America have appeared in real life newspapers the Metro and Herald AM. The story includes vicious stories on the attacks, a scientific analysis on the Chimera and even a letter from the president urging people to band together to face this new threat. Bet you stories of people thinking this real begin within 24 hours.

Hate games which don't last? Especially First Person Shooters? Then there's another reason to get upcoming title Resistance 2. According to game creators Insomniac it will take over a 100 hours to obtain all there is to get in the offline singleplayer and cooperative modes, as well as roughly 75 hours to max each of the three multiplayer classes online. Equaling up to roughly 400 hours all up, and this isn't even including the competitive multiplayer.

The Resistance 2 multiplayer Beta will be available to play tomorrow. The long wait and secrecy finally cast aside by MyResistance administrator sqweak. For those unlucky enough not to get into the Resistance 2 Beta either through a personal invite from Sony or a purchase of Qore there is still another way in. For those who have pre-ordered at Gamestop reports are trickling in that the store is now handing out the codes. Though the Beta won't start for these people for several more weeks.
Being a regular on Insomniac's site MyResistance I got a PM from one of its many moderators. This PM was a questionnaire about many different things on what we do and don't like about Insomniac and what we'd like to see from them in the future. One question in particular caught my eye.

According to EB Games, (in Canada) the Resistance 2 public beta codes need to be resent because the codes they received we're already expired upon arrival. I got this bit of information directly from a EB Games employee.
Some people have been a little skeptical towards Resistance 2. The graphics displayed in the first screenshots and trailer look a lot better than most gameplay seen so far. Mark November 4th on you calenders, because on that date Resistance 2 will be released in the US. As for Europe, the release date would be shortly after. Also the open beta with online multiplayer and co-op will be coming out sometime in early October. Those who owned and played the original Resistance: Fall of Man may be in for a special treat when playing its upcoming sequel, when in a talk with James Stevenson Kotaku's Jim Reilly asked whether they may be any bonuses from having a save file from the original Resistance, and while James said he couldn't confirm anything they definitely hope to include something, much like how the old Ratchet and Clank games used to work.
The popular online Playstation magazine has just released it's second issue but already big things are planned for the third. The most notable about it is an invite to the Resistance 2 multiplayer Beta, to start in September. Considering the tight lid Insomniac usually keep on their games this is a rare opportunity and would make the issue worth it for this all on its own.
So admittedly, E3 2008 was a disappointment for all this year, but that isn't to say that there weren't some great games on show. Resident Evil 5, Gears of War 2 and Resistance 2 all made an appearance, but was it enough for them to claim the title of Best of E3 ?
With Resistance 2 slated for a release sometime in the coming months, Sony gave us another shocker - Resistance will be coming to the Playstation Portable. Called Resistance: Retribution it takes place after the events of Resistance: Fall of Man. More details on the game as they are announced by Sony/Insomniac.

A few weeks ago a document was discovered which was apparently a schedule for PSN content. This list included such items as Warhawk: Operation Broken Mirror (already released), a update for Lair, a Resistance 2 trailer and a mystery item titled Ratchet: Quest for Booty. Due to some digging several of these items have been confirmed and as such the rest of list can be somewhat trusted.

Thats right, GamePro User's have all chosen Metal Gear Solid 4 as there most anticipated game for the Playstation 3 at the moment with a staggering 57.7% of the vote. Quite incredible that. In second place though follows Gran Turismo 5, third and fourth see the sequels of Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 whilst staggering in for fifth spot is LittleBigPlanet.

No PS3 owner has not heard of Resistance. And if you remember when the game was launched, a commercial was airing on TV at the same time. And in this commercial it showed a real life Chimera skull in the white room with the Playstation 3. Now the skull is on sale on Ebay, for a wopping 3,000 dollars. Man I should of made one of those in my woodshop class.

A Bungie developer has heard about Resistance 2 having a 60-man multiplayer mode, and he isn't wondering if it's possible, since he knows that it is, but the question that he's asking is "How will they stop it from feeling like your running around in a chat room".
