"A PlayStation Network release date for the popular, action-filled first-person shooter, Section 8: Prejudice has been announced. The sequel to 2009’s fairly well received game features a heap of more content. PlayStation 3 owners should get their armour suits ready, and drop into some multiplayer action."

The new trailer for Section 8: Prejudice is awesome. It's apparent they are ready to rumble with Halo: Reach. In the trailer it says "There's nothing evolved about fighting".

"Everything the press release contained actually sounded like a better game than what Section 8 was, and that’s not really an April Fool’s joke that would be heading in the right direction for a franchise that never really got off the ground running."

"This week's Playstation Store update brings quite a number of games for the Playstation 3 and the PSP too. The PS3 gets 5 new games this week while the PSP gets 4 new games and a PSPmini."

"This week the trio discuss Uncharted 2 & Assassins Creed 2 DLC, PlayStation Motion Controller to be named Arc, Crysis 2 to be in NYC, Duke Nukem Forever might still be alive, and much more in the news section. For what they have been playing its Mass Effect, Kane and Lynch, Section 8 and ExciteBots."

Nothing But Shooters reviews TimeGate Studios' team-based first person shooter, Section 8, available on the Xbox 360 and PC.

If you haven't checked this one out yet and you don't expect to be too consumed with Halo 3: ODST this week, Section 8's multiplayer portion should offer a great time, though you may want to skip the single player campaign.

"As a large-scale multi-player based FPS, Section 8 is undoubtedly entering a busy marketplace on PC. Differentiating itself with a number of Science-Fiction tenets, what should rightly be cliché in gameplay becomes opportunity for tightly refined strategy. Burning-in to play is an enjoyable experience the first and hundredth time, first with the spectacle and later knowing that you’ll be dropping ready to take the enemy by surprise, or with a loadout painstakingly customised for the task at h..."

"The game uses the now traditional point accumulation system, in which specific tasks award a set amount of points, building until one team reaches the target score – typically one thousand points. While kills may earn a handful of points and hacking an enemy control point a few more, the Dynamic Combat Missions (DCMs) system is where the real points lie. Generating team-based objectives mid-game, randomly selected from a small set of possible events, DCMs often engage teams in not only their ..."

Both PC and Xbox 360 release are set to deliver European FPS fans a new fascination later this week."

"After playing the Section 8 multiplayer beta on the PC for the past two weeks, I have to say that I was very impressed with it. "Section 8 is certainly looking to be a rewarding experience at present, with a grand selection of customisation options and some interesting ideas for developing online play beyond simple Deathmatch and Capture the Flag modes. Whether the Xbox 360 can deliver a similar experience online to that already witnessed by Electronic Theatre with the PC version remains to be seen, but achieving such a benchmark would easily make Section 8 a top recommendation for the summer’s end."

Latest Section 8 trailer, from publisher SouthPeak. Not a lot of fanfare surrounding this upcoming 2009 release as much as some others, but it looks promising in terms of multiplayer and customizable content... if you've been keeping up with it, that is.

Okay, I'm going to go ahead and say this now -- it looks rather like Halo.

I'm sure gamers are really starting feel woozy on this roller-coaster ride of information regarding Section 8, but the story seems to go a bit deeper when a cryptic response from SouthPeak unveils that the PlayStation 3 version of Section 8 may not be released with the PC and Xbox 360 version.

It would probably benefit gamers if the publisher just let the community know if the game was canceled for the console or not, but the article explains the rest.

Gamecock originally announced Section 8 as a multiplatform title, spanning the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. After a mix-up with the press releases and some misinformation about the game's release, it was eventually discovered that the PS3 wasn't going to be receiving Section 8.

Along with some screenshots released earlier today, TimeGate has unleashed the official Section 8 trailer for your viewing enjoyment. The game is a sci-fi FPS with a strong online/team-based element. This first trailer is CGI (or just the best game graphics' engine ever created - but doubt that) but hopefully shows off the kind of action we can expect.

"Southpeak Interactive is working on a new first-person shooter called Section 8. The good part is that the game looks like a spin-off of Halo and Crysis fused together. The bad part is that console gamers won’t be getting their hands on it. The other good part, though, is that we at least have some new screenshots and artwork of the game."
