On the war-torn planets of tomorrow, mankind's greatest battle is about to begin. With its frontier colonies devastated by a growing insurrection, Earth dispatches the elite 8th Armored Infantry (nicknamed "Section 8™") to repel the coming onslaught. Trying to set itself apart from all the other FPS's out there Section 8 brings new elements to the table but is it enough? LVLONE sat down with SouthPeak Games for a hands on preview of the multiplayer.
"TimeGate’s Section 8 is due to launch on Xbox 360 and PC in little over a month, courtesy of SouthPeak Interactive. Those who have been following the title across the last few weeks here on Electronic Theatre will have been expecting this, a hands-on preview of the PC, but for those yet to have turned their attentions to the game, cast your eyes below to see exactly what all the fuss has been about."
"Section 8 is certainly looking to be a rewarding experience at present, with a grand selection of customisation options and some interesting ideas for developing online play beyond simple Deathmatch and Capture the Flag modes. Whether the Xbox 360 can deliver a similar experience online to that already witnessed by Electronic Theatre with the PC version remains to be seen, but achieving such a benchmark would easily make Section 8 a top recommendation for the summer’s end."
"Section 8 has been designed to let the player choose the experience by customizing equipment Loadouts, dynamically manipulating the flow of combat with on-demand vehicle requisitions, strategic asset deliveries, and Dynamic Combat Missions."
