Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes is the third installment in Capcom's hack-n-slash series, Sengoku Basara. Capcom is once again bringing blade-based brawling action to home consoles, though this third entry in the franchise is a lot more character-driven than other games in the genre. Xbox Evolved posts details about Capcom's E3 2010 line up. Today they announced what videogame titles they will be show casing at the expo in LA June 15-18.
Capcom's Sengoku Basara series is quite popular in Japan, but was never a big success overseas. While Capcom hope that the upcoming Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes will change that, Kotaku's Brian Crecente brings up the question of whether a game that revolves around Japan's history and samurai period can ever truly be popular in the West.

With the Tokyo Game Show kicking off today, Capcom USA sent out a press release announcing that two of the games being shown at the event will be headed to Western shores.
First is Sengoku BASARA 3, which be retitled as Sengoku BASARA Samurai Heroes, for the PlayStation 3 and Wii. In this week's Famitsu leaks (which brought us Persona 3 Portable), Capcom's former mystery game, Sengoku BASARA 3, was one of the featured games. The game will be releasing for the Wii and PlayStation 3. One of the game's main areas of focus will be the famous Battle of Sekigahara.

Remember that Capcom teaser site that people foolishly believed it was for Onimusha when it was clearly on the Sengoku Basara portal and not the Onimusha portal?
Capcom has unveiled that title today, and lo and behold, they have announced Sengoku Basara 3 for 2010 release. The game will involve the famous Battle of Sekigahara in some form. No platform information has been released.
