"It may still be 2010, but the holiday rush for video game retail releases is already over. You’ve beaten Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, explored every inch of Fallout: New Vegas, ascended to the throne in Fable III, and dominated the multiplayer matches of Call of Duty: Black Ops and Halo: Reach. So now what do you do? Sit back and wait around for the first big games of 2011? Well, that would be silly. May I suggest some terrific but under-the-radar titles from earlier this year that you prob..."
In an attempt to help those gamers out there who are struggling to find just the right game to purchase we have come up with this Top 5 RPGs list for the RPGs that were released within the last four months, which includes titles such as Dragon Age: Origins Awakening, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver as well as others.
Also included are a few honorable mentions, with links to reviews, that some RPG fans may find interesting and might want to check out and a list of many of the RPGs released.
This past March was packed with many new blockbuster releases as well as lesser known but equally as great titles. So which games stood out the most for the month?
"Two interesting releases this week featuring games whose originals had some great concepts but weren't as good as they could have been. Just Cause 2 parachutes you on to another open-world island for mayhem and destruction while Red Steel 2 sends you to a wild west future with Wii MotionPlus support."
The Nintendo DS has always gotten great exclusive games thanks to its overwhelming popularity in addition to the unique features. The currently announced 2010 DS-only lineup is already looking pretty solid.
The ESRB recently rated the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey giving it an M and making it the 10th DS game to be given such a rating. But what prompted them to do so? Read on to find out their (pretty hilarious) reasons.
"Atlus Spoils strikes again! All launch copies of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey include a bonus soundtrack CD. Like Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier and The Dark Spire, the game and CD with songs from Persona 3 composer, Shoji Meguro, will be packed in a cardboard box.
That was the good news. The bad news is Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey has been slightly bumped back from March 10 to March 23, 2010."
"Less than one percent of all Nintendo DS games have are rated M by the ESRB and Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey is one of them. Strange Journey is the 10th M-rated DS game out of 1,366 rated titles. Compare that to 262 out of 1,940 PlayStation 2 games, roughly 13.5%.
Releasing a M-rated DS game is risky business. That plan didn’t work out so well for Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. Good to know that Atlus didn’t tone Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey down just to get a more common ..."
In a press release an an e-mail sent out to their Atlus Faithful mailing list, Atlus USA has announced that their latest Shin Megami Tensei title, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, will be seeing a North American release in 2010 on March 10th.
Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey is the first real Megaten game since the PS2's Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. Since then, we've seen spinoffs in the form of Persona 3 and 4, Digital Devil Saga, and Devil Survivor. However, the series will be ...
"While I claim to be a Shin Megami Tensei series fan, I have to admit, the only SMT games I have played thus far were the Persona series, and from my understanding those are actually an offshoot. The demons (or Personas) in the core series may be the same, but the story style and the general atmosphere of the games are much different. So when I had heard that Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey was created with the focus on the nostalgic fans of the old SMT original series in mind, I was skept..."
