The ESRB recently rated the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey giving it an M and making it the 10th DS game to be given such a rating. But what prompted them to do so? Read on to find out their (pretty hilarious) reasons.
"Atlus Spoils strikes again! All launch copies of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey include a bonus soundtrack CD. Like Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier and The Dark Spire, the game and CD with songs from Persona 3 composer, Shoji Meguro, will be packed in a cardboard box.
That was the good news. The bad news is Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey has been slightly bumped back from March 10 to March 23, 2010."
"Less than one percent of all Nintendo DS games have are rated M by the ESRB and Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey is one of them. Strange Journey is the 10th M-rated DS game out of 1,366 rated titles. Compare that to 262 out of 1,940 PlayStation 2 games, roughly 13.5%.
Releasing a M-rated DS game is risky business. That plan didn’t work out so well for Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. Good to know that Atlus didn’t tone Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey down just to get a more common ..."
