Time Magazine's Techland section takes a look back at 20 years of Sonic the Hedgehog over a five-page article, listing games, allies, enemies, comics, and TV Shows, amongst other things.
The UK's famous Alton Towers Family Resort holds something special for SEGA fans. It's a hotel room inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog, complete with a welcome theme upon entering, Sonic plushies in the bathroom and a plastic palm tree inspired by the Green Hill Zone from the game series. A blogger Don Reisinger has typed up an article on the Sega mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog. Their claim is simple, Sonic is dying out and is no longer able to meet expectations, or match the older games.
Their evidence includes poll statistics, competition from other companies and mascots, the hype is now gone for new releases as the original players are getting older and that it lacks the appeal of current day games: sex and killing.
Is this really goodbye Sonic?
