Rise and Fall of a Japanese Gaming Empire: This is a look back at the company that was once the forefront of gaming. Before Sony took over the industry, it was Sega spearheading with the successful Mega Drive/ Genesis. It all ended with the Dreamcast. This is the story of the former gaming champion!

More and more reviewers are taking points of fighting games that don't have a good story. If you're playing a fighting game for the story, you're doing it wrong.

"Soulcalibur V delivers exhilarating 3D fighting mechanics, breathtaking visuals, and new characters alongside expanded online and character creation modes. In addition, Dampierre from Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny will be available as an exclusive pre-order bonus playable character, and a feature-packed Collector’s Edition is coming to retailers across Europe. Soulcalibur V is poised to become the preeminent fighting game experience on its release in Europe on February 3rd 2012."

"Its no secret that when Capcom released Street Fighter II: The World Warrior in arcades, a change happened in the industry. Arcades were packed, players began “putting their quarter up” to be next in line, and all who played wanted to dominate their opponent like never before in a video game.Street Fighter II marked one of the highest of high points in the history of the Arcade business. Its no wonder that when this game was released exclusively for the Super Nintendo, sales of the system sky..."

The soul still burns for Namco, as the company has announced that a new chapter in the ongoing weapons-based fighting series is in the works, complete with a new director to guide it in bold new directions!

Today, we have everyone's favorite bi-polar green-haired assassin. We think that cosplayer Konoe has the character down to a tee. Heck, even her facial features look near identical to those belonging to the iconic evil lady!

"Females in video games tend to be designed to do one thing - get the attention of male gamers. Sure they can be just as badass as the male heroes, stars and villains of other games, but their designs almost always lean towards the "exaggerated" side regarding their female endowments. It's one of the reasons there's an entire market for dolls, posters and more (primarily in Asia). Even cosplay has invaded western culture with real-life women becoming "internet famous" just for dressing like ..."

"This week’s female character of choice is Seong Mi-na from Namco's Soul (Edge/Blade and Calibur) series. First appearing in Soul Blade, she has returned for every sequel in the series, with one exception being the spin-off Soulcalibur Legends. She’s typically a non-starting character that has to be unlocked, which gives her that “hard to get” appeal. Outside of her fighting style, we think you can gather any other info you need from the image below, which fills up two pages."

"Fighting games occupy a special place in the hearts of gamers. They’re also responsible for countless broken controllers, strained friendships and immensely satisfying victories. Quite nostalgic, isn’t it?"

"Video games are packed with a lot of outrageous and interesting characters. One of the most intriguing things about gaming is that male gamers never have a problem playing as women. Maybe that’s because the female characters aren’t designed to look tough like the male characters. We’ve picked the five hottest female characters in video games."

"If there's one thing Destructoid doesn't do enough of, it's the cataloging and rating of female body parts in a cynical bid to keep the virgins and date rapists interested. Fortunately, we plan to address that with a new series of articles that catalog and rate female body parts in a cynical bid to keep the virgins and date rapists interested. The hits will come flooding in.

So, arses. Everybody loves a good arse, unless they're proctologists who I feel wouldn't want to take their work ho..."

It's been a while since the Sega's console the Dreamcast was put out of business, but this doesn't mean it didn't have any classic games that will always remembered. From commanding toys in Toy Commander to avenging your fathers death in Shenmue.

The console had one of the greatest game line ups ever before the Playstation 2 came and well pretty much basically crushed the party.

Anyone who doesn't know why Sega stopped supporting the Dreamcast is mostly because of piracy. With such a ...

"Like an abundance of women in the real world who rub us the wrong way (myself not included!), there are female characters who grind my gears excessively. Whether it’s because of their idiotic comments, abrasive personalities, or overall uselessness, I can’t stand these girls. Bear in mind you won’t see Princess Peach or Navi on this list — it’s a well-established fact that they’re some pretty obnoxious broads."

"Let the ire begin. I don’t care what ANYBODY has to say, Killer Instinct is awesome. Let me count the many ways I love this game. Obviously, there’s the combo system, which doesn’t just border on being ridiculous. But there’s so much more to it than just the combos."

Soul Calibur 4 is being acclaimed a critical success at the moment, its reviews giving it 9's and 10's all over the globe. But Namco are about to make the same mistake they made with Ace Combat 6 and Beautiful Katamari, quite frankly, crappy Downloadable content.

Just around a week from its release and already 3 items are up in the marketplace and PSN Store, some lousy extra gear and some downloadable music from the original game. Not only does such a quick release indicate these could hav...

The first screenshots for the Xbox Live Arcade remake of the game Soul Calibur (the first one) for the Dreamcast have been released. It has been announced a few weeks ago. It will have leaderboards, but no online multiplayer.

"There were no details as far as pricing or a specific release date, but it was announced that all the characters and modes from the original game would remain intact; there will also be leaderboards, so you can track your button-mashing abilities against the rest of the world."
