"Females in video games tend to be designed to do one thing - get the attention of male gamers. Sure they can be just as badass as the male heroes, stars and villains of other games, but their designs almost always lean towards the "exaggerated" side regarding their female endowments. It's one of the reasons there's an entire market for dolls, posters and more (primarily in Asia). Even cosplay has invaded western culture with real-life women becoming "internet famous" just for dressing like ..."
"This week’s female character of choice is Seong Mi-na from Namco's Soul (Edge/Blade and Calibur) series. First appearing in Soul Blade, she has returned for every sequel in the series, with one exception being the spin-off Soulcalibur Legends. She’s typically a non-starting character that has to be unlocked, which gives her that “hard to get” appeal. Outside of her fighting style, we think you can gather any other info you need from the image below, which fills up two pages."
"It's Thursday, which means it's time for the Cosplay Babe of the Week. This week's entry has us dipping back into the pool of Namco's Soul Calibur with the lovely Tira. Tira is unique for her outfit and appearance as much as her deadly hula hoop. As usual we've included a mini bio for the fans of Tira."
"Video games are packed with a lot of outrageous and interesting characters. One of the most intriguing things about gaming is that male gamers never have a problem playing as women. Maybe that’s because the female characters aren’t designed to look tough like the male characters. We’ve picked the five hottest female characters in video games."
"On Fate/Unlimited Codes, 411mania writes:
In 2007, French-Bread posted an April Fools' Day joke in which the company announced that it was developing a 2D hand-drawn fighter based on Type Moon's Fate/stay night franchise. Since French-Bread was also responsible for the popular Melty Blood games, many fans were convinced that there was something to the joke, especially considering how good the fake screenshots were. Melty Blood itself was first revealed in an April Fools' Day joke, so there..."
"Sony Computer Entertainment Korea made a PSP bundle pack specifically for Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny. Out of all the colors in the PSP rainbow they could have picked SCEK went with… lilac purple.
Yes, that’s the same PSP color Sony selected for the Hannah Montana PSP pack which came out here a few weeks ago. Maybe there was excess stock. Maybe lilac is Ivy’s color. Who knows?
Either way, it’s a pretty absurd choice. Siegfried Silver, Nightmare Black, even the God of War PSP would have..."
If you thought you'd have to wait a while to get your hands on Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny, you might be pleasantly surprised by the release date. Namco Bandai have confirmed the Japanese and North American street dates, with the NA date being slightly sooner than what most people might have expected. The game will hit Japanese shelves on August 27. The North American release will be followed less than a week later on September 1. However, there has been no update on a European date.
"Namco Bandai sent a batch of Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny screenshots featuring their new, spring loaded knife wielding character Dampierre.
Even though we don’t have a specific release date, Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny is coming out soon. The game is slated to come out this summer, perhaps closer to the launch of the PSP Go."
James Walker played many games at E3, and so far Soul Calibur Broken Destiny seems to be one of his favorites, and definitely looks as though it will please any fan of the series.
In keeping up with Soul Calibur traditions of adding some extra cool characters such as we've already had Spawn, Link, Hehachi, Yoda and Vader.
In the PSP version of Soul Calibur it seems we will be getting Kratos as a playable character, so get those Blades of Athena at the ready and go get that Soul Edge!
