Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

"Some say product placements are done in the name of realism. Others say they serve as a quick-and-easy moneygrab for publishers. Regardless of your stance, those that sloppily shove a product where it doesn’t belong manage to turn any immersive game into an infomercial of Michael Bay proportions, with a heaping helping of annoyance - at no additional charge."

Alex Monney, Ubisoft’s PR Coordinator, has revealed that the multiplayer features from the original games won’t be included in Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Trilogy for the Playstation 3.

Several online retailers (including Amazon) have revealed the official name for Ubisoft’s upcoming Splinter Cell Trilogy release for the Playstation 3.

It seems many developers are hopping on the HD Remake train, and Ubisoft is liking it. First releasing the Prince of Persia trilogy just recently, and now announcing the Splinter Cell trilogy. This is good news for fans of the original to play these games on an HD screen.

"Since there are literally hundreds of thousands of games out there, it’s no easy task for lead characters to make a lasting impression on the player. Once in a while however, you'll come across a leader that's different. Somehow, that character manages to set himself apart from the others."

Online retailer Amazon France has apparently listed two Ubisoft compilations, Splinter Cell Trilogy and Prince of Persia Trilogy, for the Playstation 3.

"The Splinter Cell franchise has been kicking it stealth-style since 2002 when the first title in its critically acclaimed portfolio introduced series leading man Sam Fisher and his employers the secretive black ops organisation Third Echelon. Online Australian retailer JB-HD has revealed what collector's can expect in the very special edition of Splinter Cell: Conviction.

JB lists it for $119 AUD, but naturally it'll be much less for North American and European gamers.

Conviction launches February 23.

A game which freqrently pits you against various terrorist groups. Luckily he survived despite three bullet wounds to the chest, he should make a full recovery.

GameInformer, the popular magazine about all things gaming that has somewhere near three million subscribers, always has a different game on the cover each time. MTV wanted to see if there was a GI cover curse, so they looked back into the past and pulled out magazines from 2-3 years ago.

One game titled Superman Returns didn't so well, receiving 6/10's. That's nothing compared to Fear and Respect, which was at one point on a GI cover, but ended up being canceled!

All in all, the game...

"Video games have a long tradition of creating tough-as-nails protagonists that fight hordes of oncoming enemies. Still, few have been able to elevate themselves to true “badass” status. Sam Fisher and Solid Snake are two characters that have been known for years for their ability to strike fear into enemy NPO’s and let gamers unleash their inner Special Ops soldier. However, there is only room at the top for one badass to rule them all. Myarcadeplanet is putting that power in your hands. It’s..."
