Microsoft today revealed that seven new games will be joining the Platinum Collection lineup, the equivalent to Platinum Hits from North America, in Japan.
Today GameFly announced their annual end of the year sale would be held between December 22nd and January 3rd. Look for many blockbuster titles of 2009 and 2010 at "blowout" prices with free shipping to boot.
"Target, Toys R Us and Best Buy are all offering deals this week meant to get shoppers to make multiple purchases. Meanwhile, K-Mart is offering a hot deal on Mafia II releasing this week and a similar deal on Red Dead Redemption."
The top ten best-selling video games and game re-related products on Amazon during the month of April. Also included are individual charts for the Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Any publicity is good publicity. Right?
The marketers responsible for selling upcoming title Splinter Cell Conviction clearly subscribe to the theory. In a bizarre stunt aimed at getting press attention for the game they had a man dress as protagonist Sam Fisher, replica gun and all, and storm a New Zealand pub.
While initial backlash may be harsh to such an ill advised stunt, there is no doubting it's done exactly what the promoters intended.

The Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction demo came out for the Xbox 360 yesterday. An analysis has shown that the game runs below the high-definition resolution.

GameZone received a mysterious rock from Ubisoft with interesting carvings that deal with Splinter Cell: Conviction. On top of that, they received items to give away to their readers to celebrate the upcoming release of the title.

Online Australian retailer JB-HD has revealed what collector's can expect in the very special edition of Splinter Cell: Conviction.
Looks to be one of the sweeter packages to us, including exclusive content, a comic book, a copy of Chaos Theory, and making of DVD. That's how you do it!
JB lists it for $119 AUD, but naturally it'll be much less for North American and European gamers.
Conviction launches February 23.
Splinter Cell: Conviction has finally been given a solid release date along with a brand new trailer. The release date has now been set at 23rd February 2010 so fans of the Splinter Cell series finally have a date to look forward to.

Recently Steven Masters of Ubisoft revealed that the decision to make Splinter Cell: Conviction Xbox 360 only was purely a "business decision". Steven further explains the PS3 can handle Sam Fisher's latest installment just fine.
"Splinter Cell Conviction is now a XBOX 360 exclusive. The game was shown live and again omg the game looks good. Sam has changed, this time he is on a person mission. His daughter has been killed and now his pissed. The interaction with enemies looks full on."

The Mumbai terrorist attacks claimed dozens of lives yesterday, and one of them was almost the videogame voice actor Michael Rudder, who starred in Far Cry Instincts, Prince Of Persia: The Warrior Within, Jagged Alliance and ironically Splinter Cell. A game which freqrently pits you against various terrorist groups. Luckily he survived despite three bullet wounds to the chest, he should make a full recovery.

A couple of higher ups in Microsoft, Aaron Greenberg and Larry Hyrb confirmed the rumors. The X0 show X07 was canceled for this year. Xbox fans are disappointed because X07 is the show hosted by Microsoft dedicated to the Xbox 360. Last year, X06 had announcements such as Halo Wars, Banjo Kazooie 3, and Splinter Cell Conviction being a 360 exclusive.
