EA was able to put up the "cell-stage-only version" of the "iPod Spore" on iTunes yesterday. As you might have expected, MTV Multiplayer thinks the mobile version of the game is boring.

They note that the Creature Creator for Spore lets you create whatever you want, but the iPod version limits you. Since they know what Spore is already capable of, they feel that the iPod version is disappointing.

Look out for the full version of Spore on September 7th.

Spore is expected to be a huge hit as well as a fantastic game when it is released. For those of you not in the know Spore will allow you to create your own race and take them through the various stages of the evolution and turn them into a mighty civilisation. Obviously one of the most important decisions you make will be just what kind of species you create and with the IGN's preview of the creature creator you can begin deciding now.
