S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky

"I’ve been pretty clear on the fact that I love Fallout in all its forms. From the classic turn-based RPG by Interplay to the first-person sequels by Bethesda. When I heard that there was a game called S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl that would let me wander around a radioactive wasteland using a mix of first person shooting, RPG and free roaming I was terribly excited because it sounded a lot like Fallout 3. I’m afraid that I wasn’t cool enough to have played S.T.A.L.K.E.R. when it came..."

"A few weeks ago, an extremely unexpected and radically depressing statement flew across the internet like wildfire: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. developer GSC Game World announced that they were closing, and that the official second game in the series would be canceled.

After teasing us for weeks on end, those crazy guys and gals over at GSC have given us an early Christmas present."

Electronic Theatre reports on the availability of a new patch for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky. Patch 1.5.08 is now available from S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky's official website.

"Today, 2nd January 2009, is the ninth day of Christmas. It may seem like Christmas is all but over-and-done with now, but Electronic Theatre are staying true to tradition and heading-on through those infamous twelve days! On this ninth day, The Twelve Games of Christmas enters its ninth edition, and today we run through the top-performing disc-based releases of September 2008. Hold onto your hats, it’s going to be bumpy from here-on out!"

"You've read about some of our favorite games of the year. Now it's time for the disappointments.

The games below, chosen by the usual panel of Wired.com contributors, is in no way supposed to be a list of the worst games of 2008. Those are all for the Wii, cost $10, are about dogs and/or babies, and we wouldn't be caught dead playing them. No, these are the games that let us down the most this year. Most of them are actually good games. But they failed to live up to the hype, or didn't del..."

Yahtzee takes on the post apocalyptic, cold war-esque first person horror shooter - S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky - precursor to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.

Expect all of the usual Yahtzee shtick that we have all grown to know and love.

The games should start arriving this week at retailers Wednesday, September 17, and they should have a good truckload this time. Tons of stuff out to coincide with the fall season, and a nice bit of it is very promising. From Dragon Quest IV to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed to Crysis Warhead to WAR to Rock Band 2, gamers won't have trouble finding their blockbuster title of choice, though the trouble may be in finding how many one can afford.

"Deep Silver have announced that due a problem in manufacturing, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, which was released in Europe last week, will hit retail stores in North America on September 15th, 2008. The digital download release date has not yet been determined.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky is a Survival First-Person Shooter game for PC based on a “what-if” scenario of the second Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident. The game is created as a warning to mankind against mindless play with technol..."

Check out the screenies, the one on the right is showing the minimal graphics, while the others are showing recommended, op...
