Today is the day of Microsoft's RPG Premiere 2008 in Japan, where the company is unveiling new RPGs to the console in an attempt to bolster the Xbox 360's pitiful last-place position in Japan. Most, if not all of the titles revealed today should make their way over to the West.

One of the new game announcements at this event is Star Ocean: The Last Hope, previously only known as Star Ocean 4. The game debuted with a CG-only trailer at the event. Originally thought to be a PlayStation 3 ...

Some scans for the next installment in the Star Ocean have surfaced from Famitsu Weekly.

Fans of the series should be happy to know longtime developer on the series tri-Ace will be working on this one, which will be more sci-fi based (you'll be able to control your own ship and travel to at least five different planets). The game takes place a few centuries before the original.

A platform or release date have still not been announced for the game.

From what most likely is the promotional DVD that comes with Star Ocean: Second Evolution for the PSP, we get three trailers for the three upcoming tri-Ace projects: Valkyrie Profile: The Accused One, Star Ocean 4 and Infinite Undiscovery.
