The Star Wars license has been attached to several different genres of video games over the years. Some of the didn't work as well, but there were a few that were golden. Sadly, there are a few great games that LucasArts never revisited, so Push Start Select is highlighting the 5 games fans want to see again.
The games you know from the article you'd be more than familiar with the skills they possess and really wish you had those skills. Definitely some skills there that would be fantastic to possess.
Who are the most electric characters in video games? InFamous is all about a bike messenger that happens upon the powers of electricity. Is he the most dangerous? Hardly, but he stands among seasoned shockers like Raiden and Darth Vader's Starkiller.

"Game PR gurus often promise things that aren't always delivered in their final games. Often caught in the pre-release storm of hyperbole, hateful buzzwords and excitable press releases, the marketing men commit their games to features or mechanics the developers just can't live up to. In a world of 22 hour days, sleep deprivation and divorce-baiting deadlines, shit happens. That seemed to be the case with the following failed preview pledges. They all got talked up (sometimes outrageously), b..."

"So, what of the Wii for the future? At Nometet.com we hope that game developers will wise up to whats good about the Wii, and make a game where you can wave your Wiimote about and make your own moves, where you can use the balance board to shift the centre of gravity of your character, leading to a sweet game not unlike Mirrors Edge only a lot more advanced. We predict said game will arrive at the same time as the nuclear apolocalypse. Or when people stop worrying about Sarah Palin. The apo..."

So in the good spirit of acknowledging awesomeness where awesomeness deserves recognition, Blend Games has proudly put together a list of the Top 10 Coolest Game Trailers of 2008. So without wasting a whole lot of words on a pointless lead-in to the list, you can check out our top ten picks for the co..."
Inspired by SomethingAwful, users on NeoGAF made a thread quite a while ago photoshopping video covers using anagrams of the video game titles. Recently the thread got bumped. "You've read about some of our favorite games of the year. Now it's time for the disappointments.
The games below, chosen by the usual panel of Wired.com contributors, is in no way supposed to be a list of the worst games of 2008. Those are all for the Wii, cost $10, are about dogs and/or babies, and we wouldn't be caught dead playing them. No, these are the games that let us down the most this year. Most of them are actually good games. But they failed to live up to the hype, or didn't del..."
LucasArts has released the Jedi Temple Mission DLC (800 MS Points) for their popular Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. The new mission is said to take Starkiller into the remains of the Jedi Temple (hence the name). "While the DLC offers nothing new in terms of gameplay, you'll have ten new costumes in which to hack Stormtroopers
to tiny bits. You have three new costumes for the Secret Apprentice (aka Galen Marek):
And seven "skins", allowing you to play as memorable characters from Star Wars lore:

"First of all, there is a slight problem with the targeting system: There IS no targeting system.
You target what you happen to be looking at, so when there are multiple objects in front of you, like, say, all the time, you'd better accept the fact that no matter how dead-on you are, you'll still wind up targeting an innocent droid that happens to roll by like a special needs child on a wagon at the wrong moment. The good news, though, is that you can still use it to brick a Stormtrooper'..."
"I was eight when Star Wars hit the cinema screens back in 1977. And if truth be told, the whole spectacle of its release passed me by, until that is it appeared on terrestrial TV some years later and my Dad taped it on his spankingly new VHS recorder. I then became rather hooked on the SCI-FI opera that it was."
The top list of games sold this week has been released.

"Loopholes are present in the plot, which feels a little patched, and characters seem unfitting to the Star Wars universe. However, the game eventually plays out wonderfully and it all leads up to the epic ending that will satisfy the hearts of even those who have had just a nodding acquaintance with the series."

The exceptional story of the Force Unleashed reminded us how badass the Star Wars fiction can be if placed in the proper hands. With Starkiller at the top of our list, we decided to dig through all the Expanded Universe material: games, books, comics and cartoons - for the best of the EU. Our one rule - if the character appeared in any of the Lucas Films, they were disqualified.
This week Yahtzee takes on Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for the Wii and lets just say that he wasn't too impressed with the Wii version. He blames George Lucas. Don't we all.

The first of the internally-developed packs will add costumes and character models to the game, including Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Kit Fisto. These can be used in place of the Secret Apprentice while playing through the single-player campaign.
Then later in the year a second pack will be released adding a new mission set in the J..."

"Being such a well publicised title and carrying the Star Wars heading, there was little doubt that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed would perform well at retail. That it shot straight to the top of the UK multi-format charts was also of little shock, along with the reported sales in excess of 1.5 million units within the first week of release. However, a lot of weight still rests of LucasArts latest foray into Star Wars videogame crossovers; having been touted as the missing link between the tw..."
"Whatever your opinion of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, most will agree that the story would've made for a halfway decent Star Wars film. It'd at least be better than the prequels. So what are the chances of The Force Unleashed becoming a movie?"
The Examiner reviews Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for the Nintendo Wii. While it gets high marks for creating an interactive force experience on the Wii, the game gets a low grade for being more of a movie than a game. The final grade rates it as a good rental but not a good purchase.
When you think of LucasArts as a game developer and publisher, you immediately think of Star Wars, but believe it or not, what got the company on the map were games like Loom and Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe.
When LucasArts starting to make games for their famous Star Wars series, it started off to be very successful, with games likes X-Wing and TIE Fighter doing really well. After that, they never stopped and as a result, the games started getting worse. To this day, George and his te...

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for the Nintendo DS has recently been reviewed by N-Europe.
Sadly, it only received a 6/10. They suggest how the game is too repetitive on the console and how controlled gameplay is. They did like the vast array of battle options presented though.
The list of the top selling games has been once again released. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed has come out on top for pretty much every system, doing really well. For the Wii, Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit came out first and second. On the 360, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Tales of Vesperia, and Rock Band 2 came out in the lead. "The aforementioned actors as well as the rest of the cast all put it incredible performances and I can't think of anyone who came off as 'wooden' or unbelievable. The rendering of the cutscenes is equally incredible and makes me wish LucasFilm would have focused on turning this into a CGI film instead of the Clone Wars. And guess what? There is not a single fart joke in this entire beast, imagine that!"

After seeing previews of the game in action and playing the demo, Ars can't believe what happened to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. The retail version is really messed up, there are glitches and bugs everywhere.
While there are tons of problems with the game, they note that it doesn't even feel finished. The camera can get in your way and there is even a bug in the final boss battle!
One can only guess what happened to The Force Unleashed.

"It's quite sad that the last action game that made us feel like a Force-wielding super being was Midway's Psi-ops - and that's getting on a bit these days. With a huge amount of technical wizardry and a healthy "for the good of the game" delay we had high hopes for LucasArts' Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Would this finally be the action game Star Wars fans have been waiting for or yet another game to feel the dark side of our reviewing stick?

"3) Sam tried to bring Luke Skywalker to the Apprentice?
No one likes to be an asshole all the time. Sam mentioned that he wanted to bring as much of Luke Skywalkers wide-eyed, naive nature to the Apprentice. Hes fun, hes likable and so is his crew, so you definitely get a sort of Millennium Falcon vibe from the bunch. Even if they are going around killing all the good guys in the first few levels, you still like them. It goes a long way to making the characters feel more rounded.

The games should start arriving this week at retailers Wednesday, September 17, and they should have a good truckload this time. Tons of stuff out to coincide with the fall season, and a nice bit of it is very promising. From Dragon Quest IV to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed to Crysis Warhead to WAR to Rock Band 2, gamers won't have trouble finding their blockbuster title of choice, though the trouble may be in finding how many one can afford.
They guys over at UGO.com have a real treat for those looking forward to The Force Unleashed. In addition to different costumes and force power choices to customize your character you also have the option of selecting a color and power crystal for your lightsaber. The infamous SW Epanded Universe's BLACK LIGHTSABER being one of them!
One can only wonder if this really is what was going through George Lucas' mind when posed with this question.
He has made this decision in the past too.
Dev: Sir - do you want to include the Jar-Jar Binks character we discussed?
Lucas: Do the fans like him?
Dev: No.
Lucas: Do it.

An excellent preview of the new Star Wars game The Force Unleashed! The first thing that blew me away are the graphics, they're fantastic.
The story's plot is based around the apprentice of none other than Darth Vader himself! The underlying idea is to create a stronger link between the third and fourth movies respectively.
Are you sold on this game?

You may have heard a rumor this morning that a PC version of Star Wars: Force Unleashed was in the works. The rumor has been shot down faster than a TIE fighter, which lacks the shield generators of larger Imperial craft and - okay, the rumor was disproved quickly.
Gamespot recently held a "Gaming Marathon" for the PS3, 360, and Wii versions of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which gave us a little sneak peak (more like a big one) into the game!
They discuss numerous things throughout the video, like the different costumes you can get, how to upgrade your killer moves, and the differences in the Wii version.
Be warned, if you watch a good portion of the video, there will be spoilers.

There are two different videos, one for each version, so check them both at GDN (alt. source is listed as appropriate to the right).
GameInformer, the popular magazine about all things gaming that has somewhere near three million subscribers, always has a different game on the cover each time. MTV wanted to see if there was a GI cover curse, so they looked back into the past and pulled out magazines from 2-3 years ago.
One game titled Superman Returns didn't so well, receiving 6/10's. That's nothing compared to Fear and Respect, which was at one point on a GI cover, but ended up being canceled!
All in all, the game...
The new Star wars videogame finally shows gameplay on Planet Felucia. For some reason the person playing the game looks like he really enjoys defeating those Felucian warriors after all the parrying. The game also looks like its got some great graphics, and is looking promising. Who knows, maybe the demo wasn't enough to convince you and some gameplay on Felucia will do it.
The Star Wars: The Force Unleashed demo announced back in May has a confirmed release date: August 21 (for both PSN and XBLM). Brandish your cardboard lightsaber, it's time to get wieldin'!
Video games used to come preprogrammed with canned movements that expert players eventually could anticipate and figure out. But recent advancements in video game design and new game consoles with dazzling computing power have endowed computer-controlled characters with a sense of self-preservation and unpredictability not seen even a year ago.
Das Gamer had a chance to interview Julio Torres, the producer of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. She answered questions about having lightsaber duels with the Wiimote, multiplayer details, and a bunch of other things! The game will be coming out September 16th for the U.S.

"We are just now getting midway into 2008, and look at all the Wii games we have already enjoyed. Its hard to imagine how 2008 could get any better for the Nintendo Wii. But Im a true to heart optimist, so lets take a look at some of the great titles still to come in 2008.
World Of Goo
Ok, I promise that #s 4-1 will all have actual titles accompanying them. Unless you keep track of independent game release, then you may not of heard of World of Goo. It was a finalist in the 2008 Indepe..."

Yep, it ain't just Yoda and Darth Vader anymore in the upcoming Soul Calibur title. Namco Bandai dropped another bomb today, revealing the "Secret Apprentice," the main character in the (also) upcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will be featured, this one being in both versions. Talk about pimpage.
Here are seven new screenshots of LucasArts soon-coming Sci-fi game, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Looks fantastic, imo. In the screenshots we see a pretty screwed up stormtrooper, as well as other things such as a rodian in sunglasses, some cool displays of the force being used, and some exciting images of fighting large creatures with a lightsaber.
Enjoy.
"Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is the "greatest" Star Wars game ever made, according to the game's producer.
Speaking to VideoGamer.com at an Activision/LucasArts event in London last week, Cameron Suey, the producer in charge of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, said that in his opinion The Force Unleashed, which sees you play Darth Vader's previously unknown secret apprentice in an adventure that takes place in between the two movie trilogies, has the greatest story of any Star ..."
"LucasArts is planning an Xbox LIVE and PSN demo for upcoming Star Wars game The Force Unleashed.
Cameron Suey, the producer in charge of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, revealed the news in an interview with VideoGamer.com at a recent press event in London. The details and timing of the demo are, however, still under wraps.
"I'm not certain about the specifics, but we definitely want to get this game out into people's hands," Suey told us. "There are people who are excited ab..."
Could Force Unleashed be one of the best Star Wars games ever made? Cameron Suey Producer of the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions certainly gives that impression in this interview. He also talks about the future of the Star Wars franchise in the game industry and says "You might see less and better" meaning there might be less Star Wars games in future, but they'll be of better quality.
Few more screenshots of The Force Unleashed for all you Star Wars fans. The game - developed and published by LucasArts alongside Dark Horse Comics, Lego, Hasbro, and Del Rey Books - will be released mid-Septemeber, and the plot will focus on Darth Vader's secret apprentice.
"e Nintendo Wii first came out, a lot of Star Wars fans were practically begging for a lightsaber game. LucasArts has heard your cries and will be giving you a chance to fulfill your Jedi or Sith fantasies in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for the Wii (the game is also available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, and the DS).
X-Play was able to get some hands on time with the game and were cool enough to capture their moments with the game on video. The producer of the game, ..."
Some new screenshots are out for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed out. I'm sure you'll love some of these as one includes a roster shot.
It seems Count Dooku, Darth Maul, Anakin Skywalker, and Luke Skywalker all join the roster.
One person seems to be missing from it though. It's everyones favorite green guy, Yoda. Maybe he will show up later.
The screenshots are quite big, so go to the source to view them.
I called it! Using the Force is going to be exactly as much fun as you'd expect (if not more) on the Wii when the new Star Wars title comes out. Evidence with the video below. LucasArts has also revealed the DS version, which looks potentially great as well.
The bigger they are, the harder they fall. The same saying goes for the PSP. It's already made big waves this year with God of War: Chains of Olympus and Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, but don't think for a second that it's done pulling the punches yet!
PSP Blogger takes a look at some of the titles still planned for the PSP in 2008. Among these are a few new games, but there's also a few older ones coming out via the Playstation Store.
I have found the new screenshots of the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed game. They look good and it loos to be a good game. I have underneath gave you a link to view all of the screenshots. Click the source to view.
Just recently, LucasArts has announced that physics-based jedi sim will be released on: September 16th in the United States, September 17th in Southeast Asia and Australia, and September 19th in Europe. Hopefully the publishers don't delay the title.
The game will be releasing on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, Playstation Portable, Playstation 2, and the Nintendo DS.
Yes its true. Darth Vader will be playable in the upcoming star wars game, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. You will be able to use his full powers from the movie and also be able to kick some wookie ass. There is also a brand new video of the Raxus Prime Level that can be seen here
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed might get delayed if Amazon is to be believed. The site has changed the release date from April to August. Lucas Arts is keeping it kind of busy these days with Fracture, Force Unleased, Indiana Jones and an un-named project with BioWare, so a delay to one of their games doesn't sound too preposterous.
While we might not be getting a genuine lightsaber game on the Wii for a while it shouldn't be too hard to make do with Star Wars: The Force Unleashed until then. Check out the official E3 trailer with GamerSquad.
We have a ton of others on offer including Silent Hill: Origins, Parappa the Rapper, de Blob, Scene It, Smarty Pants, Nitro Bike and more!
"Assume the roll of Darth Vada's secret apprentice and ramp the Force power amp up to 11, because thats the entire core gameplay mantra for The Force Unleashed, even the games creators are living and breathing the idea of monumentally "kicking someones ass with the Force" throughout the entire production."
