Some players are new to MMO, but started with The Old Republic from its license or popularity, or maybe others may have missed out on learning a thing or two. To solve this issue, BioWare launches "New player guides" in the form of video tutorials for players that are new to the game.

Read on to learn more about this upcoming Guild Summit."
Star Wars: The Old Repubic was a very highly anticipated game in 2011 and many were wondering if it would ever make back it's estimated $200 million budget, but it seems that EA is on the right tracks.
"BioWare has announced that The Old Republic will be recieving a new addition to the graphics options in the form of a "cinematic like texture" option. Since launch the game has suffered from numerous graphical bugs and inadequacies, with the player base calling out for something better than the Highest settings that the game currently offers. Associate Project Manager Avi Mintz has released a lengthy guide to optmising some of these issues."
"GamingUnion: "Before jumping right into our actual review of SWTOR, which will be coming next week, I'd like to answer a few of the individual questions that have been thrown our way regarding the game, and wouldn't quite fit proper into our review next week.""
"Tuesday, December 20th , is perhaps the most important date on a Star Wars fan’s calendar: the release date for BioWare’s long-awaited MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic (TOR). A joint venture between one of the biggest IP’s in existence and one of the best RPG developers, TOR marks a new level in game design in terms of sheer ambition and scale. With initial development costs in the $80 million range, BioWare and its parent company EA are surely expecting great things from this corporate superh..."
"GamingUnion: "Up until this point, our last two features on Star Wars: The Old Republic have been fairly positive, and to be perfectly fair there's a reason for that. BioWare has done a wonderful job creating a MMO that not only has a lot to offer players looking to level, but also seems to understand all of the nuances that make the Star Wars franchise so much fun. There's no hiding away from it being one of the most stable MMO releases that I've ever encountered, with almost no server downt..."
In this episode, the guys talk about Star Wars: The Old Republic, Gears of War 3 (+RAAM's Shadow DLC), Zen Pinball 3D, Amy, Assassins Creed: Revelations, Burnout: Crash, DC Universe Online, Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters, Knights Contract, Renegade Ops, Serious Sam: Double D, The Ship, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, the Vita, the mass suicide threats at an Xbox 360 plant, and plenty more.
First world gamer problems. How do you balance an MMO, a creative indie title, an engrossing FPS/RPG, and a full-time job?
Just a day in the life of an adult gamer, something we can all relate to.
"We know there’s a big Mac audience of BioWare fans … we know that’s an important and large audience. And we want to serve that audience.” In essence, Bioware recognizes the potential for an audience on the platform, however they aren’t ready to move forward on a direct port. Mac users can still use a Windows partition on their computer, but that is less than an ideal situation for some users."
It's been almost 10 years since I took my first foray into MMO territory with Star Wars: Galaxies. I've had an on-again, off-again relationship with the genre ever since. Now, how does it feel to be 35 hours into Star Wars: The Old Republic?
It feels pretty darn good.
"GamingUnion: "So the first ten levels of Star Wars: The Old Republic teach you the basics behind your class, questing, and how to handle quest hubs, but once level ten rolls around things change pretty dramatically. Players get shipped off from their first world into the classier part of the galaxy and are exposed to the real content drivers of SWTOR: Flashpoints, Warzones and the overarching class quests.""
"I myself have let my WoW account fall by the wayside, and have to put at least 40 hours into SW:TOR since I got the game. That is a large time commitment for me, especially these days. Despite all the praise I have for the game there are a few things that are beginning to irk me. Here’s four things I’m going to complain about."
"I’m not a PC gamer. Never have been, didn’t think I ever would be. I’ve tried several different games to try and get into PC gaming but none of them held my attention for very long. Star Wars: The Old Republic is set to change all of that."
"GamingUnion: "The Old Republic is a game that's built for those who, simply put, love Bioware titles. If you don't enjoy cutscenes, character dialogue, or Star Wars as a franchise it's hard to know where to really begin explaining how well the whole 'living story' concept that SWTOR attempts to craft. It's something that most gamers will be able to identify with quite well when looking at a game like Dragon Age or Mass Effect, but actually translates strongly when put against a pre-existing u..."
"2011 has been a very well-paced year for gamers. We started out with a couple of hits in January and ended with a major release less than a week before Christmas. My favorites this year include horror, comedy, epic RPG’s, downloadable arcade games, and even a DLC pack from a 2010 game that was so good it deserves just as much honor as the full games. Developers are making great games at a faster rate than anyone can play them all, but here are ten that I thoroughly enjoyed."
In this episode, the guys talk about Star Wars: The Old Republic, Trine 2, Pushmo, Marvel Pinball: Vengeance and Virtue, Batman: Arkham City, Don't Run With a Plasma Sword, 3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure, Grand Theft Auto III (on iOS), DC Universe Online, Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride, Yoshi's Island DS, the 3DS GBA Ambassador games, and the sales numbers for the PlayStation Vita.
Some copies of the recently-released Star Wars: The Old Republic reportedly do not contain the necessary activation code inside the box to play the game.

BioWare founder is showing some skin and getting Tattooed up for the release of star wars the old republic a pc mmorpg game.
"Killing a space warthog with a lightsaber is pretty much the same thing as hitting a magical warthog with a magic sword. It’s neat to see a MMO in a sci-fi setting like Bioware’s upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic as opposed to the usual fantasy world, but the question remains as to what will make this game more than “World of Warcraft, but Star Wars”?"
EA has been long at work with Bioware's and Lucas Arts on the most costly video game of all time. This time they say they dont think EA will make profit which makes Lucas Arts and EA harder to work with each other.
"There are places that truly give a crap about games and will do everything in their power to give each game what it deserves. Others will treat the GOTY voting as nothing more than a popularity contest where the game that sold the most is the winner."
Rather than create multiple sequences KOTOR, BioWare and LucasArts have opted to create an unique game that brings together thousands of players in the fantastic stories of Star Wars. As expected, the player has the chance to choose the side of good or evil in any of the two factions (the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire). These are the choices that define the future.
"So what’s the big deal? Skyrim is NOT going away, just rock the SWTOR beta and play Skyrim on Monday. The only problem is that it's Skyrim – not just some game. Plus it’s just a beta… so… everything you do will be erased anyways… but it STAR WARS! Sigh. The only true answer is something gray – a medium ground."

"The ranks upon ranks of troopers in this picture may turn out to be artistic license after all, as it turns out Star Wars: The Old Republic will have a deliberately limited number of copies on sale at its launch. The publisher says it hopes this will ensure a smooth launch and a better experience for all involved. Is this a considerate act towards prospective players by EA, or is it a way to drive preorders for a game that has yet to even announce a release date higher still? Strange as it ma..."

"At the first mention of the name, the Jedi Consular might seem like a bit of a boring character. BioWare has released a new trailer for the game Star Wars: The Old Republic and it showcases the Jedi Consular class. Check out the trailer below."
"Bioware really has a way with storytelling in their games. I’m continually stunned with every video Bioware releases for this game; the story telling, the dialogue, and game play are all so unique and rich that it feels like nothing else we’ve ever experienced. This game feels like the MMORPG we waited our entire lives for. Bioware has been gracious enough to release a 13 minute demo showing off the conversation system, instances, boss battles, combat for each class, and karma choices that af..."

Frank Gibeau, president of EA Games, doesn't seem to think so.

"BioWare’s Star Wars: The Old Republic is, without a doubt, one the most anticipated releases of the year. Not only is it a Star Wars MMO with real potential, it’s a spiritual sequel to Knights of the Old Republic, arguably the very best Star Wars videogames to date, and it represents BioWare’s (arguably the most popular developers of story-based Western style RPG’s around) first foray into MMO territory. But is too much being hung on the success of The Old Republic?"
Some new video has hit the interwebs about the latest MMORPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic. Check out the link below to get the full rundown on what we can expect.

"No genre has been as unpredictable in recent years as the MMO. We saw the meteoric rise and fall of Aion and Champions Online, Turbine’s reinvention of free-to-play, and the surprising growth of underdogs like Fallen Earth and EVE Online. Oh, and let’s not forget the best-selling expansion for a little game called World of Warcraft."
MMOs are all the rage right now and some companies are actually looking to elevate the game with some interesting new titles, including The Secret World and Black Prophecy. This list features some of the games worth playing in 2011.
"Unlike other game genres, which are largely free to experiment and try their hands at new concepts, MMOs are heavily restricted by the expectations of audiences. That is, if they want to succeed. BioWare is fully aware of the pros and cons of this situation as they shape the future of Star Wars: The Old Republic. They feel the fans pulling from all sides to include ‘this’ and ditch ‘that,’ but pleasing fans doesn’t mean there isn’t room for innovation."
The Knights of the Old Republic games have delighted (and frustrated) both fans and non-fans of Star Wars. The first game set a new standard for RPGs, and for fans of the Star Wars saga it gave everyone a broader glimpse at the galaxy far, far away. The problem being KOTOR II's ending left so many of us disappointed and filled with unanswered questions. Questions many fans assumed would be answered in an inevitable KOTOR III.
"Video games have multiplayer, anymore that’s almost a given. Multiplayer gives people the chance to go out and pit themselves against other people from around the world or it allows for a collaborative effort to achieve victory. But there are some games that either miss the mark, or totaly skip the online process altogether."
"Star Wars Galaxies was my very first MMO, though hardly the last. No matter how many I played, none hooked me as Galaxies had, mostly because of the Star Wars attachment. Needless to say, I was excited to see BioWare’s MMO in person, and get my hands on the mouse for the first time."
"LucasArts and BioWare demonstrated Star Wars: The Old Republic at E3 but not many outside of the conference attendees got to see the game in action. Now they have put up a video of the demo that was shown for all to see."
"Star Wars is, arguably, the most successful multimedia property of all time. Star Wars video games have been around for nearly as long as the movies, but things have been a little quiet of late. With the exception of The Force Unleashed and Lego Star Wars, any releases have fallen under the radar. All that’s about to change: The Force Unleashed and Lego Star Wars are attempting to step up their game, BioWare is out to redefine the MMO with The Old Republic, and Sony Online Entertainment are d..."

"BioWare has announced a new class for their upcoming MMORPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic, that requires the ultimate in patience and planning. One of them almost made a meal out of Lando Calrissian in Return of the Jedi but know gamers will have a chance to play as the dreaded Sarlacc Enforcer."
"Earlier today, we reported news about an upcoming games list for the Xbox 360 that included Star Wars: The Old Republic. Consider that rumor nixed after a post on the Star War: The Old Republic community forums from BioWare."

Though you might not agree with everything stated, it is an interesting read on a topic that continues to spur the interest of RPG fans.
"As games get more cinematic, the trailers are only going to get more elaborate. This year brought us great efforts from the likes of Bungie, Rockstar and Valve, with trailers featuring everything from live action sequences to the voice talents of Patrick Stewart. Here are some of our favorites."
". This is neither the "best of" or a "top 10" list, but rather a look at some of the coolest game trailers released during the year that got our blood pumping and our thumbs sweaty. And just so some of the really cool trailers don't feel left out, they made it into the nominees' listing. So everyone wins, sort of"
Really hope I'm not the only Star Wars fan here. Anyway, here's the latest Star Wars: The Old Republic trailer, which is narrated by Jedi Master Gnost-Dural and goes over some of the Sith Empire's sneakiness.
We get to see the Mandalorians in this video and learn how they were duped by Imperial spies into working with the Sith after initially refusing to ally with those dirty Imps. Mandalore is a faker! Wah!

We also have a short commercial for an amazing charity and finally come clean and announce our on-going project."
"We got our fair share of MMOs to oggle at this year at E3, with a few missing in action, but the bulk of this bellow were there. The list compiles of ten hopeful MMOs that are all expected to launch some time next year, and it isn’t just PC based, there are a few PS3 and Xbox 360 MMOs thrown in there too. Enjoy!"
Star Wars: The Old Republic had its first proper trailer shown at E3 today, detailing a massive battle between the Sith and Jedi in the very halls of the Jedi Temple. This MMO, set thousands of years before the films truly looks to be a stunner, at least if the graphics and action look half as good as this trailer makes it look. Go to the source to view it.

"RM: From our perspective, now we get to play the games and just really enjoy them as consumers, and offer feedback from that perspective, at the early start of the ideation phase. We say, "What's our audience excited by? What's our aspirational fantasy? What are solving for here? What goals are we setting up for this project?" Then the team goes and they work on that. We play it throughout the process and give feedback whether the team's meeting the goals that they set out at the start of the..."

Star Wars: The Old Republic, the upcoming MMO from BioWare is set to have its first video doc release tomorrow. After officially announcing the MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic for the PC, EuroGamer got in on a little secret: One of the EA Executives - Frank Gibeau - has let loose that there may be a Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning console version in the making, as well as for the Star Wars MMO.
"Tuesday afternoon marked the official announcement of the BioWare and LucasArts MMORPG collaboration, Star Wars: The Old Republic. The masterminds behind the greatly anticipated follow-up to the Knights of the Old Republic series opened their doors to the media unfortunately, their mouths remained shut on any real details. Seemingly every question was deflected with an unrelated statement or total declination to comment. The 3-hour presentation actually made the game a bigger mystery!"
LucasArts has also released some of their concept art and screenshots from the recently-announced MMORPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic. Currently announced for the PC and with no release window given, them game is set 300 years after KOTOR II.
