Stargate Worlds

GamingShogun received an official statement from Firesky, the game's developer, on the current status of their recently-thought dead MMO: Stargate Worlds. It seems as though the game is still in development, although definitely impacted by a shortage of finances. They are receiving and looking for additional venture funding though to see it through to release.

mmolecule announced that they will be giving away two hundred closed Stargate Worlds beta keys. The contest is running from now until September 25th 2008, but you must register before September 20th to be eligible for the drawing. "Travis J. Rutherford, executive vice president, MGM Consumer Products and Location Based Entertainment: “We have spent years looking for a quality gaming partner to extend the Stargate franchise beyond television and DVDs. This trailer is an exciting preview of that extension, and we are proud to have the opportunity to debut it as part of the Stargate Atlantis return. Our fans will jump at the chance to have their likeness incorporated in the MMORPG and become a part of Stargate history.”"

"Stargate Worlds is a new MMORPG being developed by industry newcomer Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment in association with the film and television media company MGM. The game will allow thousands of players to interact in an online universe based around Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis."
