A little over a year ago I wrote an article about why I think fighting games lack innovation and skill. This seems even more true now than it did before.
"Number 7 on the countdown is the kind of woman you'd like to meet in a back alley somewhere... assuming your goal in life is to get your face kicked in by a girl. And kicking, I tell ya, that's this lady's thing. But look on the bright side: all that legwork apparently helped her develop some amazing glutes, and you might get some nice up-skirt shots while you're lying on the ground collecting your teeth."
Gamers have entered another golden age of fighting games much like the early 90s. With the recent releases of Mortal Kombat, SF IV, and Marvel vs Capcom 3 fighting games are on the upward swing. Developers and publishers need to take notice, this is the perfect time to release another Power Stone game, Darkstalkers 4, or the perfection cross over game featuring characters from Dead or Alive
"Recently Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono explained to gamers why we have yet to see a crossover event between the popular fighting game series Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. Both of these franchises have been around for a long time and dominate the same part of the video game market. With recent additions to both of the gaming series that were well-received (Street Fighter 4 and Mortal Kombat 9) it seems like the right time to bring the two together. But why haven’t we seen these two..."
NoobFeed.com takes a look at the newest Capcom collaboration between Hello Kitty and Street Fighter, which will spawn merchandise next year. It's...different.
"When Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition PC was announced to have a restricted offline mode, fans went mad. The offline mode restricted players to the use of just 15 of 39 playable characters, due to the fact most have to be purchased as DLC. This was originally an attempt to protect the game from piracy; however the community was outraged. They complained about not being up to use content they paid for when traveling or not having immediate access to an internet connection."
"Capcom's third revision of the mighty Street Fighter IV title, labeled 'Arcade Edition', has hurricane-kicked its way into the MCM Expo today for an exclusive preview along with some Q&A with their very own Leo Tan."
Who are the most electric characters in video games? InFamous is all about a bike messenger that happens upon the powers of electricity. Is he the most dangerous? Hardly, but he stands among seasoned shockers like Raiden and Darth Vader's Starkiller.
Fighting games have made a comeback. Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, and other brawler franchises have been resurrected and have seen a whole new fan base.
Mike D of GoozerNation looks at 5 more fighting games that, in a perfect world, would also see the same sort of love that many other older popular series have seen.
"So, it is mother’s day and Gaming Irresponsibly wants to show some love for all the video game moms out there. We’ve combed through the annuls of video game history to bring you the most memorable mothers in video game history. This is our first of three installments but be warned, spoilers are abound!"
For their first podcast episode ever, Raptr, a popular social platform for gamers talked with Street Fighter legend Alex Valle about the origins of combos, the reason why he can beat you in any fighting game, and much more. In addition to the interview, Raptr talks about the impact of their recent client and website improvements, and hints at a new, upcoming search feature they have planned.
Fighters are one of the more popular genres of video games today. But one has to wonder why? They don't take skill and simply aren't that much fun to play.

"As a longtime fan-favorite, Street Fighter’s original token female Chun-Li has been beating up beefy Russian wrestlers and sumo wrestlers since the days of Vanilla Ice. While this lady and her thunder thighs will be making an appearance in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, these cosplays are the ones that steal the show."
After taking on WoW, Jace Hall of the Jace Hall Show creates a new Street Fighter Anthem and Video. Check it out as it's a pretty good rap and video!
"He is a slender, tousled-haired Japanese man with a melancholy face that could be anywhere between fifteen and thirty-five. Though not unattractive, it is hard to understand why the crowd is cheering so hysterically for him. He doesn't look like a rock star nor does he act like it. But in certain circles, he is not only hailed as a celebrity but worshiped as a veritable god of the modern masses."
"Now when most people think of sexually attractive characters in gaming, they usually assume it’s only female characters. Developers know that the men of gaming also have to “look good” too. That’s why we’ve sprinkled in a couple of the hottest men in video games as well."
All Age Gaming's John Elliott brings us the 10th developer profile. This time he looks at the Street Fighter and Resident Evil series developer Capcom. See inside for a look into this renowned developer.
"Last year, (2009) was referred to by many as the year of the fighting game. The ridiculously anticipated Street Fighter 4 blew gamers away and more or less revived the genre. Marvel vs Capcom 2 returned to modern consoles, a move applauded by both new and hardcore fans. Tekken [6] landed on a non-Sony console for the first time ever, earning mostly positive feedback and reviews. Not to mention Guilty Gear developer Arc System Works made the beautiful BlazBlue. Overall it was a fantastic year ..."
In their latest fiscal report, Capcom comments about the sales performaces from their recent games including Monster Hunter Tri, Bionic Commando, Dark Void and more.
"After seeing someone sneekily dump an emulated version of Street Fighter II Turbo onto the servers of the draconian office we were in, I couldn’t help but write and discuss our Top 10 Fighting Characters we believe are the very best to be created to date."
"When it comes to fighting games, Capcom is still considered the king among many gamers. The solid gameplay offered in Capcom franchises keep hardcore virtual combatants coming back for more. But there is one thing that draws us in besides the physics engines and collision detection. It's the female fighters. That's why we've compiled a list of the sexiest female characters from Capcom fighters. Sure the pickings were slim when women first entered the Capcom fighting scene back in Street Fight..."
"A new fighter is entering the iPhone Street Fighter IV ring and she is coming as a free downloadable character. Capcom wants to say thanks to all the fans that purchased the game by giving Cammy away for free."
Attending MegaCon this past year for all three days, my small crew and myself managed to capture possibly every (non anime) cosplayer at the event. Of course for Gaming news, I'm linking you to the gaming cosplayers, but I suggest using this link as more pictures (and video) will be added. Enjoy!
For some reason, everybody loves zombies, and that includes artist Manuel "Hell Factory" Moura, who created these Street Fighter IV zombified portraits. It's quite good stuff, though perhaps they could do with a bit more deformity.
PC gamers should note a Sagat zombie mod is currently available here.

"Last night, the GAME British Academy Video Games Awards ceremony took place in London, with a number of shocking results. While few would argue that Batman: Arkham Asylum found itself up against some tough competition for the coveted Game of the Year award, the fact that Rocksteady Studios walked away with the award will certainly be a boon to UK videogame development. However, another winner is now going to be a benefit to the UK’s gaming public, as the UK’s largest high street videogames re..."
With the BAFTA Awards coming up late this week (March 19), AAG's Ian Crane looks at the nominees and does some predictions of his own as to which game will win what category at the famous awards later this week.
Street Fighter IV is coming out for the iPhone this month. Surprisingly enough the game looks really good, now this doesn't mean it'll control like we expect but anything that looks this good can make us optimistic. Check out the first gameplay footage of the game.
"The reason I find myself asking this question is because me and my friends were discussing about games we played in our childhood, with the typical titles like Sonic, Mario, Zelda, Streets of Rage, and Street Fighter making the grade. Bringing up the notion that they don’t make games like they used to, but this brought up the thought of times change, and games moved on with the times. By this statement I do not mean in regards to technology, but in the sense of consumers needs. As, in my chil..."

"If there's one thing Destructoid doesn't do enough of, it's the cataloging and rating of female body parts in a cynical bid to keep the virgins and date rapists interested. Fortunately, we plan to address that with a new series of articles that catalog and rate female body parts in a cynical bid to keep the virgins and date rapists interested. The hits will come flooding in.
So, arses. Everybody loves a good arse, unless they're proctologists who I feel wouldn't want to take their work ho..."
"The shortlist for the BAFTA GAME Award 2009 has been announced and you - the British public - will decide who nabs the prize.
Last year 60,000 gamers voted, with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare crowned the eventual winner. This time around the sequel could repeat the feat, but will face stiff competition from the likes of Batman: Arkham Asylum and FIFA 10."

"In the world of video game vixens, the ladies of Street Fighter are among some of the toughest and sexiest. But it was not always this way. In 1987, the original Street Fighter made its debut in arcades around the world without any female characters. It wasn’t until 1991, with the release of Street Fighter II, that the first female character was introduced: the sexy Chun-Li. Today there are over 30 female characters in the Street Fighter franchise and thousands of enthusiasts who dress like t..."
""With Bayonetta strutting into stores this week, it's time to take a look at the toughest female characters gaming has provided gaming with over the years. We're talking ladies of steel; the kind that don't need to be suffering with hormonal pains to rip your head off. Gone is the insistent need to shop and the power to chat your body into a vacant boredom – these girls have far more pressing matters to get on with. By 'pressing,' we mean they are out saving the world or imprinting their high..."

"After much demand, we've finally wrangled up a gallery of the popular Cammy for this week's Cosplay Babe of the Week. Cammy is one of the most popular characters in the Street Fighter franchise. She originally appeared in Super Street Fighter II:The New Challengers, which was released in arcades in 1993."

"Tyger! Tyger uppercut!
Tyger knee him in the gut.
What jump forward jab or fierce
Could brave this fearful Street Fighter?
What a find! Street Fighter and poetry usually go together like peanut butter and tobacco but we've found these awesome poems that were written with real poems in mind. For example, "Tyger Uppercut" is inspired by William Blake's "The Tyger".
There's also: Carrion Console (Gerard Manley Hopkins' "Carrion Comfort), Fight Song (John Berryman's "Dream Song 14"..."

As you can probably tell, I love me some combo videos. I've been watching them since the very early 90s when I would buy 9th generation VHS dubs of fabled TZW tapes from this shady operator on the interet (there was no internet*s* then, just the one).
After 15+ years of combovid connaisseur-ship, I've got to say that the latest offering from Maj shows just how much these combo scientists have elevated the game.
I've had my grubby mitts in SFIV from the very first build, and th..."
Do you love Street Fighter IV? Do you love it so much you just wanna hold it and hug it and cuddle with it and love it forever? Then the Street Fighter IV "snuggie" -- spotted on Capcom's Twitter page and shown here -- is probably for you.
It's apparently intended to be used for gaming sessions, when it's cold or just when you want that extra comfort to you know, get the edge on your opponents. Or something.
The box says "Feel Me!"
Go on...don't be afraid.
We've seen some pretty interesting Chun-Li cosplayers in the past. Some are quite cute while others are downright funny.
Here is Korean model, Ryu Ji Hye, dressed as Street Fighter's Chun-Li to promote her role as broadcaster for the TV show NSTARGAME Fighting Spirit 2009 Season 1 Street Fighter IV. (Woah, that's a mouthful of a name!).
Two (rather creepy) commercials were also released for the show...
"Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. has announced a range of licensed Street Fighter IV ‘Round 2’ accessories for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 systems. Been curious to get a deeper look inside Street Fighter IV's "labyrinthe" plot? Look no further, as Capcom's Shiozawa-san has just posted up a handy little flow chart giving a nice overview of the whole thing.
Capcom has released some concept sketches for Street Fighter IV; if you like getting early looks at how your favourite titles were created, these are for you.
This topic has been heard plenty of times, which are better achievements or trophies. One can question its launch with the console vs maybe a tack on feature. The real question is who values them more for their respective console? The staff at LVLONE discusses the different features each console presents.
Statistics are out today revealing the five best selling Xbox 360 titles so far this year. Without further adieu:
1. Resident Evil 5
2. UFC 2009 Undisputed
3. Call of Duty: World at War
4. Halo Wars
5. Street Fighter IV
I debated posting this or not for awhile, but hey, it's entertaining, so here it is.
A modder going by the username of RanShak on the Game Vixen Zone forums has managed to get Street Fighter IV's Cammy all nekkid and stuff -- PC version only, of course.
Plans for other ladies are possible, but the modder says they would prove more difficult.
For tons of other (clothed) skins -- check out the mod spotlight on Neoseeker -- a few great ones in there.
Okay, have a nice day.

This probably comes as no surprise to anybody who has played Street Fighter IV or booted it up the first time and reached the end. But for those who need an excuse for failing, in an interview with VideoGamer.com, assistant roducer for the arcade version, Ryota Niitsuma has acknowledged that Seth and Sagat are indeed overpowered and "might have turned out a little bit stronger than [they] expected.” But he also states that any good player can take on these goliaths and cites the examples of t...
"It’s time to get old-school. Metaboli, a digital distributor of PC games, announced the launch of a Flash version for Street Fighter II Championship Edition, which you can play for free on your browser. PC fight fans are in for a real treat come July 7 -- Street Fighter returns to the platform, appearing for the first time since Alpha 2 in 1998. Another classic series is being revived, too -- Tales of Monkey Island gets its first chapter this week in the form of "Launch of the Screaming Narwhal."

"What we have learnt is that a “2nd version” of Street Fighter IV remains on the cards, and that the development team have thought long and hard about what should be included. Firstly, a couple of possible characters have been revealed. Rolento is a possibility, should there be adequate demand, and a mysterious hint that Gouken’s daughter may have a role."
While this isn't a confirmation in any way and barely contains any details, during a Capcom-unity Q&A members of Capcom provided some answers about the possibility of the title hitting the Wii. Apart from that, the forum members brought up some valid points and counter-arguments. Capcom VP, Christian Svensson, answered, "Never is such a long time." The Senior Community Manager, Seth Killian, added his own response. "While not every aspect of SFIV's presentation would likely be possible on the...
"Street Fighter fans have been waiting for a new iteration in the series for quite sometime, and with a little apprehension regarding how Capcom would handle their esteemed franchise in 3D, after less than memorable sequels to the spite-based Street Fighter II."
PC gamers planning on picking up Street Fighter IV this summer at retail may want to be aware of the digital rights management scheme Capcom will be implementing, which their community person Christian Svensson revealed today.
The game will feature disc-based SecuROM, requiring the game disc to be in the tray. Also, by the looks of the cover, Games for Windows LIVE will be required, too, though no word on whether online authentication will be used there.

""Those of you who managed to pick up Street Fighter IV know just how incredibly well balanced and well made this game is. It has an impressive amount of polish, and the whole experience (except for maybe the final boss) is fun and addictive. But there has still been some mystery over how the damage system works. That is until now.""
"After the recent confirmation that Resident Evil 5, Bionic Commando and Street Fighter IV will be released for PC, beginning this July, Capcom have upped-the-ante by releasing the European Box Art for Street Fighter IV’s PC release."
Ah, Capcom, they've given us some pretty iconic games over these long years. The publisher recently released a list of their 44 bestsellers, or games that exceeded 1 million units sold since release, up until the fiscal year ending in March 2009.
The top 10 aren't too surprising. These figures are for separate platforms, so multiplatform games may appear more than once. PS3 and Xbox 360 sales are lumped together.

"Capcom has today announced that three of its blockbuster hit console games of 2009 will be coming to the PC beginning this summer. Bionic Commando, Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5 will all be coming to the PC."
"I love the facial expressions as the characters get hit. Everything on-screen is so detailed and smooth. This is what a next gen street fighter game is supposed to look like."
"Capcom have released their title update for Street Fighter IV, adding championship mode and replay download functionality. Unfortunately this update has been quite disappointing, here’s why.
Back in the day Street Fighter II ruled the arcades with people bunched up around the machine watching and waiting with their dollar coins lined up on the ledge to secure their turn to challenge."
"They removed the parry system, the single greatest fighting game mechanic in the history of the genre. Street Fighter III was a miserable financial failure, so Capcom had to make a more mainstream-friendly fighting game. The parry system was wickedly hardcore, so that got axed."

So I attend a day of the FX Show in Orlando FL representing Binge Gamer, on a mission to get geeks in costumes. I love this stuff. I must say, I think MegaCon was overall more impressive, but the Deadpool made up for this. Go to source to see pictures.
"Capcom is bringing new options to Street Fighter IV with an eye towards serious players. Street Fighter IV’s Championship Mode update expands on the fighting fun by offering players the chance to compete in tournaments and to watch replays of the best tournament matches. Best of all it comes to you at no cost."

"In such cases, DLC works a bit like expansions for PC games, extra content added after the fact. It's what most of us suspected DLC would be when it first came around for console games, but Capcom and Electronic Arts have recently rattled gamers by announcing planned DLC before their games are released."
"Last month OXCGN attended the first Official Street Fighter IV Tournament for the Australian games media. But upon receiving my invite I quickly realised two things…
“I can’t bloody wait!”
And…
“I better get some practice.”
But first I needed a copy of the game. Easy. Done. No problem. Oh wait. An email. Play Asia. “Dear valued customer…”
Crap it’s a bloody “shit storm”!
Now I don’t know exactly what a “shit storm” is, but if I suspect it it’s similar to being “up shit creek w..."

"Videogame history is littered with rage and frustration. While we all love and cherish this noble hobby we call gaming, it has still been the source of thrown controllers, broken furniture and endless streams of curse words. While much anger has been had at bad level design, cheap deaths and wasted money, plenty of rage has been reserved for the characters themselves.
Game characters can be incredibly annoying. This is the result of an industry where game developers try to be writers, and ..."
Allison Boyer at Binge Gamer has been doing something new, a weekly collection of gaming and geek related contests going on. I'll put the contests in the quote and Go to source for the links if you feel like entering.
"Capcom have today released a rather interesting little video. Filmed in a documentary style, the video takes us through the early '90s and the start of the Street Fighter phenomenon with a satirical outlook on pretty much every aspect of the decade."

OXCGN reviewer Aaron Bertinettie takes a look at the arcade fighter and gives it the old "one-two".
OXCGN had a night of Street Fighter IV recently at a THQ Media Knockout event, tried the MadCatz Street Fighter IV Limited Edition Fighter Pads/sticks (another article coming on that soon) and loved it.
See what he has to say about the reinvention of the classic fighter on the 360 (and other platforms)

"Most classic video game heroes were grizzled and muscle bound dudes, at least until Samus Aran came along. Nintendo's hardcore bounty hunter crushed the notion that female characters couldn't compete with the steroid-using men in most adventure games, and when Tomb Raider's Lara Croft arrived, the following ladies achieved gender equality, thanks to their brains and combat skills."
"Capcom has always been one of my favorite game developers/publishers. They practically shit gold when it comes to video games, with only the occasional bit of suck slipping out from under the door every now and again.
They've been on a hot streak for the last year or so (probably longer) releasing awesome titles like Mega Man 9, Bionic Commando: Rearmed, and SSFIITHDR. So with the recent (and lonnnnng awaited) disc-based release of Street Fighter IV for the PS3 and Xbox 360, we can only pr..."
Capcom's vice president Christian Svensson has confirmed Street Fighter IV for the PC is planned for this summer; GameSpot has had the release pinned for June for some time now (whether or not this is accurate, one cannot be sure).
More, the arcade sticks and pads produced by Mad Catz will be compatible with this version, and Capcom is talking with them about making a gamepad bundle for the title.
With Capcom's first next generation title for the Street Fighter series, Street Fighter IV blends the classic gameplay mechanics of previous titles with some new gameplay features, visual presentation, and a well-balanced roster. Street FIghter IV is what a next-gen fighting title should be.
Sure it's a gimmick probably, but how can you resist a unicorn, especially when it's reviewing a video game? In this case, the video game is Street Fighter IV.

"In development, technically, since the early 2000s Street Fighter IV's plot is set between the second & third's with many of the fighters still constantly attempting to better themselves. Today I'm setting out to explore Capcom's sinful new fighter and deliver the verdict on what the game has become, a step in the right direction or a completely wrong turn.
Keeping the fan's pleased, Capcom has returned every Street Fighter from the previous game, in timeline respect that is. Yes the evo..."
"The returning characters handle much as in Street Fighter II, as do the core mechanics. A Hadoken remains commanded by a forward roll of the D-Pad and press of a punch button, and those who dedicated hours to tightening manually developed combos on Street Fighter II will revel in the return of the cross-up collision system. Basic moves, special moves and combos learnt in Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II Turbo or Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers will be flooding back within min..."
"Many reports of the overseas success have been concerned with the competition between the PLAYSTATION3 and Xbox360 releases. Though very early suggested sales figures may well be available already for the US, the UK does not yet have such luxuries. What the UK does have though, is an abundance of High Street retailers ignorant of the system rivalry altogether."
It would appear that with the release of Street Fighter IV in Japan, both the 360 and PS3 have enjoyed a boost in sales which combined comes to a boost of 4,000 units. This is good news for both consoles, but especially for the 360 as its sales are quite low in Japan.
For the week ending Feb 8 the Xbox360 had sold 9,833 units and the PS3 18,656 units.
"Theres plenty of fighting games on the market these days most of which implement the use of boob physics for their female characters. For those of you that are new to this concept, boob physics makes a woman's chest a little more bouncy than reality can offer. Many in the gaming community credit Itagaki with perfecting this engine, and it is a staple for any solid fighting game."
It's never a good sign when a films producers decide not to screen the finished product to critics before the premiere release. This is unfortunately exactly what the guys behind the upcoming Street Fighter film have elected to do. Or not do. Something to hide? Probably. But you never know it may be that they just don't want snotty critics driving away people. But then again, that shows their doubts.

"Street Fighter 4 is launching today, and unless youre very new to 2D fighting games, youve probably realized that the 360 or PS3 standard controllers are simply not adequate input devices for these sorts of games. Capcom and Mad Catz saw this issue coming from a mile away and teamed up to create official Street Fighter 4 controllers to drop alongside the launch of the game. Mad Catz sent over a sample of each controller so we could put them through their paces, and now were passing the inf..."

Spring and love and all that garbage are in the air, and with that kicks off a solid batch of games this week. The obvious blockbuster is Street Fighter IV, the fighting game for pretty much everyone, really, then the fabulous RTS Dawn of War II (the RTS even for people who don't play RTS), and two titles from equally reputable RPG series': Dragon Quest V and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon.
Bon semaine!
"Well, if you are Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li star Kristin Kreuk, you knee 'im the chopper, that's what.
During a Tokyo press conference for the upcoming Hollywood flick, comedian Suzuki Q Taro showed up dressed as Chun Li, saying, "I'm the real Chun Li."
Kreuk unleashed an actor's attack, sending Q-chan threw the cardboard boxes. (Actually, the funny man was yanked via wire!)
Oh, the hilarity. Almost as funny as the Chun Li movie itself!"
"Beautiful, deadly, and pigtailed - Cammy is the second female character to appear in the Street Fighter series. Though perhaps not as widely acknowledged by the mainstream as Chun-Li, the amnesic young warrior is a fan favorite, and has left her footprint eternally in the Street Fighter series. This is her legacy."
"Think you can win $500 in Game Crazy shopping money? Think you can kick butt in a one-on-one style Street Fighter IV tournament? Well, if you know youre over 13 years of age and you can repeatedly throw down some down-to-forward-punch combinations, then this tournament could be for you."

"Street Fighter: The Movie is something special, and I only mostly mean that in the short bus sense. Even among its videogame movie peers, it's a film that stands out as a monument to sheer, unbridled lunacy. It takes some serious testicular fortitude to take a franchise at the height of its hype and treat it with all the reverence of a '60s Batman episode. Martial artists Ryu and Ken are transformed into gun runners. Chun Li is a television journalist. Indian stretchy-guy Dhalsim is a doctor ..."

Street Fighter IV comes out next month for Japan, North America, and Europe. We've already seen plenty of videos and artwork, so most of us are familiar with the bold new artistic style this next Street Fighter installment employs. Ryu and Ken look a bit like two hulking ogres, but hey, it's Capcom.
Speaking of which, Capcom released a new video today that plays like a cinematic, showing us the epic battle between Akuma and Gouken. Chances are, you already know how this is going to end,...
Videogame company Capcom have a great line up of titles this year, Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV just the tip of the iceberg. But whether these games will even come to Australia and New Zealand is now up in the air. Red Ant,Capcom's third party distributor have given signs that they may have had a falling out with their partner, and with some games just weeks away, shipping them in time could be tough.

Here it is, in case you missed it the Japanese trailer for The Legend of Chun Li. So what you will, but I am willing to give it a shot.. heck I saw the Van Damme monstrocity in the theaters. Capcom has announced the day of release for the console versions of its highly anticipated sequel brawler Street Fighter IV. The title arrives on Xbox 360 and PS3 February 17, 2009.
Confirmed late last month, character Gouken -- the man who trained Ryu and Ken, and the brother and former training partner of Akuma (Gouki) -- now has a gameplay video showing him in action.
Check it out at the source in HD; alternately you can see it in SD mode here.

Director Steven E. de Souza, the dude behind Die Hard, 48 Hours, the cool Knight Rider, and the original Street Fighter movie, has commented on the upcoming iteration Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. How does he think it'll turn out? Better than his version, apparently.
Nevertheless, Andrzej Bartkowiak (Doom, Crade 2 the Grave, Exit Wounds, Romeo Must Die) is directing this one. Between that and actress Kristen Kreuk playing our beloved Chun-Li, Black Eyed Pea Taboo as Vega (he may h...

Expanding a little on previous news, Capcom's Yoshinori Ono, one of the producers behind Street Fighter IV, talked a little recently about the possibility of the game coming to the Wii. What do you think? Would it sell?
VideoGamer had a chance to interview Yoshinori Ono, one of the Street Fighter IV producers. He talks about how he is going to try and stop the lag in the online modes, the criticism of the game being too much like Street Fighter II, and tons more.
"As I descended into the dark, cavernous cave that is the Casinos arcade, I immediately spotted the glow of the Street Fighter IV machine. It wasnt hard - the game had attracted a large crowd of typical nerdy types. Most of them were male, most had bad haircuts, and a horrific smell of B.O. permeated the air like a high school gym."
Capcom recently posted a new article on their Street Fighter IV blog with some good very good news: The consumer version of Street Fighter IV will be shown publicly for the first time at the Leipzig GC!
Yoshinori Ono, Street Fighter IV's producer, will also be at the GC. Expect to a bountiful of information about the game as more and more people get to see/play it.
Akuma has been unveiled as a character in Street Fighter IV -- but only as an opponent (far as we know). Players doing well in the single player mode will see the "strong demon" showing up to kick their arse.
Included is some artwork and in-game shots of ol' Gouki himself. Also, here's a video of him in action, straight out of Japan's arcades:

"A post on the Capcom blog states: "The latest idea to sneak past was to have some Street Fighter fans' faces - yes, your actual faces - appear as background characters in Street Fighter IV."
Make a convincing enough case, and it could be you hanging out with background legends like Chinese man riding a bicycle and drunk Russian at a steel mill! Just know that Skullomania has a family to feed, and he needs these background cameos to make ends meet, you selfish jerk."
Expanding on these rumblings of Capcom's upcoming secret projects, the company has said one of them will be 'a surprising take on a next-gen favourite.' Considering this recent interview with Street Fighter IV's producer, I'm betting on Lost Planet. How about you?
Already having announced their support for WiiWare, Capcom looks to be packing their things and jumping on the actual Wii ship itself soon, according to Capcom forum admin "Lost."
Lost said in a recent forum post the company has more or less been waiting it out, and with the huge success of the system, the timing will be just about right soon to announce some titles. Mega Man and Street Fighter IV, please.
"He's blue! And freaky! And not in a kooky-yet-heroic way like Doc Manhattan. In a creepy, evil way like Seth, Street Fighter IV's #1 bad guy. I still think his gut's a bit...silly, but then I usually think that about ridiculous boss characters in fighting games, and it doesn't stop them from kicking my crap through my teeth."
"In an exclusive interview with MTV News, Black Eyed Peas member Taboo spoke out about his role in the upcoming Street Fighter movie, Legend of Chun-Li. Taboo will be playing an edgier Vega in the upcoming film.
The multi-talented rapper, dancer and actor also took a stab at one of lifes most puzzling questions: who would win in a fight, Vega or Wolverine?"
""It's not that a Wii version would be impossible," [said producer Yoshinori Ono]. "And we're not ruling anything out, but looking at the main target we're trying to hit with this game, users are more likely, from where we're sitting, to own a PS3 or 360 than a Wii. Are there fighting game fans who own the Wii, especially in north America? If there are, we're more than willing to do something for them. But it seems like a safer bet to go with the PS3 and 360, and the PC is more a European-cent..."
You heard it right, Street Fighter IV will be getting exclusive content for the console versions. Available for the PC, XBOX360 and PS3, the console version will come with animated cut-scenes for each and every playable character. Cinematic endings will also be available to those with the console version, however those that decide to opt for the arcade version will be unfortunate enough to miss out on these.
And more over, Capcom have also confirmed their plans to shop an 'Arcade Perfect'...
Capcom released a new trailer yesterday for their game, Street Fighter IV. This trailer is truly epic with all of the fireballs and spinning kicks going on!
Another batch of screenshots have arrived for the next Street Fighter title, and they're probably the most bizarre yet. Frying pans, overweight dudes in yellow jumpsuits; I don't know whether to be excited or disturbed.
Also, IGN has confirmed online play and characters exclusive to the console versions (bringing the total of new characters to five).
More photos through the sources.
"The Street Fighter series has never been terribly exclusive, appearing as it has on the TurboGrafx-16, Super Nintendo, Game Boy, Dreamcast, Xbox, and most systems in between. So it comes as no surprise that Capcom's upcoming arcade game Street Fighter IV would eventually find its way to other homes.
The publisher announced today that it will bring Street Fighter IV to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Unfortunately, it did not give any indication as to when the game would arrive on tho..."
Expanding on previous rumours, here's another one! French gaming site Jeuxvideo is reporting Capcom "inadvertently announced the platforms for Street Fighter IV on a site reserved for the press," meaning we'll see it on consoles (PS3, Xbox 360, and also PC), this winter, no less.
The outlet didn't provide a link to the supposed site, but it's nice to think about, isn't it?
Well according to a Japanese Gaming Magazine this is what they currently believe is going to happen as they already claim this is under production by Capcom.
Nothing has been claimed on the matter in the view of Capcom though Capcom's producer Yoshinori Ono did claim in the past it was possible for the game to come over to the Nintendo Wii but then again he also said it was possible for it to come over to the Gameboy.
All we do know however is this game is still being planned for both ...
"Now, this in no way is meant to be taken as an indictment of the quality of Street Fighter IV as a whole -- the game could very well be great despite certain depictions of grotesque fiddler crab pincers. And sure, in the heat of battle, it's unlikely anyone will be focusing on what any character's thumbs look like. That said, I would offer this counterpoint: Look at that goddamn thumb. Seriously. It's as if an ichneumon wasp injected a large sack of eggs into her palm."
"Street Fighter IV will arrive in Japanese arcades this summer, and the company is currently seeking a distribution partner for a North American arcade release. No console editions have been announced, though PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions are expected."
You might not understand as to what the title is alluding to, but it's hinting to the theme of the new Street Fighter IV trailer - watercolours. This video shows-off a fight between classic brawler Chun-Li and a new character named Crimson Viper.
I wonder if we can play the game like this...
Don't want to get involved in the pre-order fuss for Street Fighter IV? Skip all that by pre ordering an actual arcade machine! For just over $23'000 you'll get the machine delivered to your door, they're taking pre-orders from America as well. So if you've got $23'000 burning a hole in your back pocket, this wonderful item is just waiting to be purchased.
"According to the guys at Kotaku Street Fighter IV is only half finished. Technically, Capcom still has till July, but thats not a lot of time in game development years. What might Capcom do come those hot summer months and the game is still incomplete? The marketing machine cannot be stopped, the proverbial trucks are waiting to rush the game to hungry fans around the world and yet Ken still only has one working leg "
Until more official word comes out, it seems Akuma has been spotted in Street Fighter 4, and check out what his character would look like in the new SF4.
They have kept the old tradition of leaving Akuma evil looking and demonic. He looks pretty evil from the picture, doesn't he?
A few new faces have been revealed for the upcoming Street Fighter film, which centers around Chun-Li. It may not be the best cast in terms of 'look-alikes' but if their acting is on-point, this film could be decent.
Most notably, Michael Clarke Duncan will be the heavyweight boxer, Balrog. This film and the upcoming Street Fighter IV game are to celebrate the franchise's 20th year anniversary, and here's hoping that they both deliver.
Japanese gaming site Famitsu have posted new screenshots from the arcade version of Street Fighter IV. The images, captured from the playable demo at the AOU 2008 Amusement Expo, show off the game's unique graphical style and reveal some of the fighters that will be made available for play in the final version set to be released later this year.
Among returning favourites such as Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li is a new female challenger called Crimson Viper. Concept artwork and gameplay stills of he...
