Delicious "1UP Mushroom" Mushroom Burger!

cbjones | 7 hours 51 mins ago | Blog | Misc  | views: 216
"This instructable was inspired by Barry Rosenstein's The Red Fez Burger from Build a Better Burger Challenge from the Food Network a few years ago. He colored his top bun red to look like a fez. I thought that was the coolest frakkin' thing ever.

For this instructable, I made my own veggie mushroom patties. They taste like okonomiyaki so it has like a soft fritter/pancake/omelet texture. Feel free to change according to your taste: Boca burger, Gardenburger, meat patties, or just a slab of..."

Deathsythe | 4 days 16 hours ago | News | Nintendo 64 Gamecube Company Misc  | views: 1589
"Brian Brinegar, a 29-year-old web developer from Lafayette, Indiana, and two of his avid gamers friends, Dan May and John Groth, decided to get together and play seven Super Mario Brothers games straight through the weekend for a good cause, the Child’s Play Charity.

The trio have been playing the original Super Mario Bro. all the way through to Super Mario Galaxy. Check out the fun while it lasts at Super Mario Marathon; and please give what you can, if you’re apt to do so! To date they’v..."

Worst blue ball moments of all time

StarJet | May 04, 2008 | Blog | Misc  | views: 2333
"If we’re not jumping through hoops trying to save a kingdom, we’re fetching some rare Crystal Sword of Infinite Necromancy all out of the kindness of our hearts. What do we get in return? “Ah, gee thanks for risking life and limb to do a big ol’ fancypants favor for me and restoring our world to what it once was from the Dark Ruler of Naught. Here’s a medal, young adventurer. Never mind our bustling cleavage. Now get the hell out, street rat. Sorry ‘bout the hard-on.”

Whaaaaaa? Faster than..."

What makes a game "retro"?

StarJet | April 20, 2008 | Blog | Misc  | views: 1334
"Anyone born before the PlayStation knows what gaming used to be like. Anyone born before the crash of the gaming industry (and the boom) in the 80s will have seen how rapidly games changed. While we are content with our PlayStation 3 consoles, Halo games and motion-controlled tennis, it’s easy to look back at the bygone ‘golden’ eras with a hint of jealousy, some regret and a lot of nostalgia.

Many nostalgic objects that were considered unfashionable at some point can suddenly become popul..."

The hottest ... oh, no wait... most grotesque females in gaming

StarJet | April 12, 2008 | Blog | Misc  | views: 2227
"On a personal note this was the hardest list I've ever attempted to write. All of these girls are villains in some way, with exception of the Horde. It was a ridiculous quest to find a female in a video games who wasn't attractive. And not just attractive, drop dead, unrealistically gorgeous. I hate to ruin a simple list like this, but why? Why are there no normal to ugly looking females, let alone fat ones. I mean I hate to break it to you people, fats real. People are bitching about how the..."

The Mario Family as explained by Japanese 1st graders

Murray3 | February 21, 2008 | Blog | Wii  | views: 4041
"According to my students, I learned the following:

1. Mini Koopa is Mario’s brother, stepbrother or cousin.
2. How height of someone is directly proportional to how old they are.
3. Mario’s father (or uncle) often kidnaps his own daughter (or niece).
4. It is up to Mario to constantly defeat his father (or uncle) to win the love of his sister.
5. Mario is possibly romantically involved with his sister.
6. Mario has an evil brother.
7. No one knows who Waluigi is, but he hangs out wit..."

The Forgotten Characters of the Mushroom Kingdom

twilightprince | November 14, 2007 | News | Misc  | views: 2529
"We love Mario, but Nintendo's plumber always hogs the spotlight. Sure, he's got a cute outfit and we giggle like school children whenever he shouts "mamma mia", but there's more to the Mushroom Kingdom than a hairy Italian guy. With that, here are some of the characters Mario stepped on to reach the top."

Light up your life with a Super Mario mushroom lamp

mistermostyn | August 30, 2007 | News | Nintendo 64 Wii  | views: 2493
"What better to go with your Mushroom Kingdom bed sheets, light shade, wallpaper, alarm clock, dressing gown, posters, stationary, rugs and clothes (that's enough of describing Editor Stevie's prized possessions) than a Mushroom Lamp? It's not official Nintendo merchandise, but the red, blue, or green illuminated fungi are a definite playful nod to the adventures that take place in the world of Super Mario."

6 Video Game Gimmicks That Went Away Too Soon (And 6 More That Need to Die)

Ameer | August 29, 2007 | Guides | PC Playstation 2  | views: 5509
"Since its birth, video gaming has undergone an incredible evolution, from simple sprites and a ghost-eating Pac-Man to today’s domination of home consoles. After all that time, any gamer who’s worth their weight in rupees will remember (fondly, or otherwise) some once-common sights that went the way of the Virtual GameBoy, never to be seen or heard from again. CRACKED recalls some video-game staples of yesteryear, and admits that, in the end, there are still more of them kicking around than w..."

Ten Takes on the Super Mario Bros. Theme

bbb7002004 | July 06, 2007 | News | Nintendo 64 Wii  | views: 3407
"According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the touching ballad "Yesterday" by The Beatles is the most covered song of all time.

That might be true, but it's quickly losing ground to an equally catchy jam from a much different musical era.

We're speaking, of course, about the most recognizable series of notes in video game history -- the Overworld theme song from Nintendo's classic 1985 platforming great, Super Mario Bros. Penned by legendary game bard Koji Kondo (who was also resp..."

The 100 Deaths of Mario

ITANI | June 07, 2007 | News | Misc  | views: 952
"If you have a thing for the grim and morbid, then you'll feel right at home as we've dug up 100 deaths of our beloved Mario. You should know, however, that these deaths do not make up every death Mario's succumbed to in the last 26 years. That would just be too much for us - the bereaved - to handle. Grab a hanky and enjoy."

Grow your own 1up mushroom

"Deep in the basement of an ancient house in Sonobe (tucked in the fields of Kyoto, Japan), an amazing discovery has been made: real 1up Mushrooms. We know this sounds unbelievable, and we laughed when we were contacted by an exporter about them two months ago. But then we were sent a sample, and that's when our lives changed forever.

The instructions are pretty simple. All you do is add potting soil to the green sewer-pipe-shaped flower pot, and push the spores deep into it. Soak the soil ..."
