"Nintendo of Europe has revealed the official release date for one of the most highly-anticipated Wii releases of 2010, Super Mario Galaxy 2. Set to arrive throughout Europe this coming Summer, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the follow-up to Super Mario Galaxy, the critically-acclaimed Wii launch title."

"In an interview this week -- with Wired.com's Chris Kohler -- Cammie Dunaway, of Nintendo of America, assured gamers that the new Zelda for Wii would be released in 2010.

If Zelda does release this fall, and with Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M set for May 23 and June 27, respectively, 2010 is going to be a jam packed year for Nintendo.

Is this Nintendo sending the Wii out with a bang? Are they ready to introduce a new home console -- a Wii 2 or HD -- in 2011? It seems prepo..."

"The first Super Mario Galaxy, released in November 2007, became one of the most well received titles of the year due to its gameplay design, Wii controls, soundtrack, and graphics. At last year's E3 press conference Nintendo announced the follow up, Super Mario Galaxy 2, the first-ever direct sequel to a 3D Mario game. And based on the recent Nintendo Media Summit information, it looks to continue that tradition in a grand manner."

If you've taken a deep look at the original Super Mario Galaxy logo (or simply read this article), you may have noticed a few little stars at the bottom of certain letters. The letters are URMRGAY = U R MR GAY.

Many laughed this 'subliminal message' off as a funny coincidence and didn't think much of it. But it seems the message may have been intentional after all. A new 'message' has appeared on the sequel's logo.

The spring lineup for the Nintendo Wii is looking extremely promising with big-named games as well as lesser known but still great titles slated from March through May.

At Nintendo of Australia's media summit today, IGN AU has confirmed with Nintendo that the publisher's two hotly anticipated titles, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M will actually see early releases this year. The sequel to Mario's galactic adventures will see a release in the land down under in June, and Team Ninja's take on the Metroid series will see an August release.

Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Europe will have their media summits tomorrow, so we can see if these dat...

There's been some talk going around lately about the relationship between Nintendo and third party developers. An example being difficulty with hardcore third party titles. Lee Evans has posted a blog entry going over some facts and figures in an effort to shed some light on the matter and the severity of the situation.

Shigeru Miyamoto has been known for letting his personal hobbies and ideas leak over into his video game genius. With being a pet owner leading to Nintendogs, and gardening resulting in Pikmin. But who would think that a hamster would give him the idea of using the planets' gravity to allow the player to return to the same spot without getting lost, much like running on a wheel or in a ball.

In a very surprising announcement, the UK magazine NGamer supposedly heard from an inside source at Nintendo. This source supposedly told the magazine that Sonic will be playable in the upcoming Wii exclusive, Super Mario Galaxy 2. Leaving the entire gaming community in perhaps the most severe case of "WTF?!" so far this year. More information after the jump.

"Some say that the anticipation is better than the actual act. Some people are liars. Still, there is certainly nothing wrong with lists as for one they give everyone a chance to have a good moan about why things are/are not on them and they also make for easy articles. And if there is one thing I am, it's lazy. The list below is in a general order of preference (so we want Metroid: Other M more than No More Heroes 2, for instance) - so feel free to get annoyed with us about that or any other ..."

"My gut tells me that playing Mario, the adventures of a fat plumber in a Mushroom Kingdom of warbling enemies and happy conflict, is juvenile.

My mind tells me I'm a more ideal Mario player than any 8-year-old kid.

Grown men play Super Mario games, so I feel that it is time for me, a grown man, to figure out why and whether this is a habit I ought to quit."

"The Nintendo Wii is currently the top console on the market this generation, and Nintendo and its third-party publishers are going to make sure that it stays on top of the game. There will be plenty of new titles to play this year -- sequels to popular franchises as well as new IPs, both on retail disk as well as digital download -- so don't think for a second that it'll be a "sparse" and "light" 2010 when it comes to Wii gaming.

Here's a quick look at the games we're most looking forward ..."

2010 may be the best year yet on the Nintendo Wii thanks to plenty of high-profile exclusive games in addition to several lesser known Wii-only titles slated in the coming months.

2010 is looking to be yet another awesome year for us gamers. Hype, developer potential, nostalgia, series’ past sales and successes, all counted towards VGB's unbiased Top 100 list of this years biggest games. See anything you like?

An artist's rendition of what would be in Mario's wardrobe. Comprising of outfits spanning over 2 decades of games, one thing is certain; this would make a pretty sweet graphic t-shirt.

One of my main gripes with Super Mario Galaxy was how easy it was to complete most levels. Well it looks like that will change in the sequel. Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed that Mario Galaxy 2 will be "really challenging" and may even use the "Super Guide" feature...

2010 is looking like it could be the Wii's best year, in terms of first-party game support. The year promises Sin and Punishment 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2, and Metroid: Other M, so long as everything goes according to plan. Hell, we may even catch a glimpse or two of the upcoming Zelda Wii, though Reggie makes no promises. Needless to say, even the Regginator is excited about Nintendo 10' -- and with good reason.

"Super Mario Galaxy still to this day is the greatest Wii game that Nintendo can offer (in my opinion) so hearing the announcement that it is getting a direct sequel makes me extremely happy giving the fact there has never been more than one 3-D Mario platformer game per console life cycle. Super Mario Galaxy was a gorgeous game offering a creative spin on the platforming genre with tight physics, amazing level design, and one of the most beautiful worlds Mario has ever had to trek through. Th..."

Following on from our Top 5 Xbox 360 and PS3 lists, All Age Gaming's John Elliott looks at the tough decision that Wii owners face over the next few months in what game(s) to purchase by giving us his Top 5 games to get for the Nintendo Wii this holiday season.

Limit Break have posted up a family line chronicling Mario's nearly 30 years of appearances, starting as Jumpman in Donkey Kong Arcade back in 1981. The "tree" depicts how the Mario franchise has branched out over the years and where some of the concepts for the popular spin-offs stem from. For example, the Mario Kart series can be traced back to the Famicom Grand Prix F-1 Race game which was released in 1987, ages before Super Mario Kart was introduced. I seriously had no idea about some of ...

If you thought Mario Galaxy gave everyone the ride of their life, well fans have no idea what's in store for them this time. With one of his oldest friends now joining in on the fun, will fans see this game be a reinvention or be the same as the first ?. LVLONE gives us a first look at what Super Mario Galaxy 2 has to offer.

If you thought Super Mario Galaxy was a bit on the easy side, this news might please you. According to Miyamoto, Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be geared towards "veteran and more experienced gamers" moreso than the first game was.

It is the opinion of Neoseeker writer Lydia Sung that Nintendo has in recent years fallen a bit off the wagon, so to speak. Okay, a lot.

Citing her experiences at E3 this year, some of the company's contradictory statements and actions, and support of the mature audience (or lack thereof), she divulges on how Nintendo has missed the mark in a lot of ways, and touches on how they can fix it.

"Super Mario Galaxy 2 won’t have as deep a storyline as its predecessor, says Mario’s creator Shigeru Miyamoto.

Super Mario Galaxy, the 2007 game that marked the iconic mascot character’s first adventure on Wii, was notable for the fact that its narrative was much deeper than the series’ usual paper-thin, save-the-princess plot. But Miyamoto, in an interview with Wired.com at E3 2009, says he’s not a fan of putting story into Mario titles, and therefore he’s keeping the plot of ..."

We are back from half the crew being at E3 to ... talk about E3. James and Perry tell a tale of almost getting killed while in L.A., we hit up the finer points of the three major conferences, talk about the best games, and take a little bit longer than usual to do so. Grab us on iTunes or download the mp3 directly. Enjoy!

"With E3 2009 winding up a lot of people have been complaining about the lack of hardcore games coming to the Wii. Nintendo has always been the more family friendly console and they have certainly been pushing for the casual gamer market with the Wii and the DS and it’s making them money so there may not be a large incentive for them to change."

"Nintendo at E3 2009 has shown off it’s new line up of Wii and DS titles, even though the reaction was mixed from fans, and the gaming community in total, Nintendo did manage to surprise with some new and interesting games that will most likely be big hits with both the core and casual gamers."

"What did you think of Nintendo’s E3 press conference then? The usual inane blandathon, drenched in the acrid juices of casual lifestyle aspiration? Though so. But at least they gave us a look at the new Mario game. One of those can save any year’s line-up, right? Well no. On reflection we don’t think that’s the case any more.

In fact we feel that rather than the glowing beacon of inventive hardcore lovin’ we’ve come to expect, Super Mario Galaxy 2 actually crystalises everythin..."

The sequel to one of the best titles on the Wii had been confirmed to be in development by Nintendo at the publisher's E3 2009 Media Briefing. Super Mario Galaxy 2 will have Mario returning to explore the far reaches of the galaxy once again, in all new planets and levels to explore. The game will release in 2010.

Check out the game's E3 2009 trailer below and at the source.

"Nintendo began their Pre-E3 Press Conference at around 5:30pm GMT this evening, with a mission to not only prove that their strategy hasn’t ended with Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training, Wii Sports and Wii Fit, and that they could back-up those promises made to deliver games for the Hardcore Gamer as well as their financially beneficial new market, but also remain ahead of the competition, with Microsoft’s Project NATAL revealed yesterday with the clear goal of stealing a piece of the Wii p..."
