Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

Ever since the early console games, bosses have been a staple of video gaming. However, there's always at least one that really makes you scratch your head and wonder what's wrong with the sucker.

Mario has been in over 250 games. Goozernation attempts to near down the top 10 Mario games of all time to the top 5. What makes the cut into the top 5? Will Mario Galaxy be mentioned? What about Super Mario RPG? Where does Paper Mario fall?

"During this hazy, nostalgic haze between controlling a giant worm in a spacesuit to collecting pieces of heart container I thought I would list my all time favorite Top 10 SNES games."

Super Mario RPG is one of the greatest games of the Super Nintendo era. It's also an important learning experience. Here are five important life lessons the game has to teach us.

"Both Sony and Microsoft could learn a little something from Nintendo and how they handle their major franchises and mascots. Microsoft has milked the Halo franchise to the point that the original developer can’t stand the idea of making another one. Sony on the other hand has pushed the God of War franchise a bit too much (six releases, with a seventh coming in Ghost of Sparta in under five years), but hasn’t sacrificed quality for quantity as fans of the series and critics alike both rave ab..."

The 90s saw the introduction of 3D graphics and developers were able to infuse story into their games like they had never been able to before. These opening game cinematics were the top of the 90's, and helped to set the standard for what was to come.

"Video game fans have a lot of hobbies outside of gaming itself. But more often than not it all ends up going full circle and coming back to the wonderful world of gaming. Sometimes family and friends support our gaming habits by making stuff for game fans. Cakes are one of those hobbies and things."

"Video game designers have been throwing around whether protagonists should talk or not ever since characters began to speak at all. In many game franchises the main character never speaks, even if everyone else around him does. In Super Mario RPG this is even used as a comedic device. In the early generations of games there was hardly any dialogue, and when there was it was never spoken by the protagonist. Of course, few games from the NES era could have what you would consider "memorable" st..."

An artist's rendition of what would be in Mario's wardrobe. Comprising of outfits spanning over 2 decades of games, one thing is certain; this would make a pretty sweet graphic t-shirt.

"As one of the top ten role-playing games on lists across the world, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars has some of the most unforgettable scenes, game-play, and characters ever brought to the SNES. Of course throughout the game you are re-united with well-known Nintendo trademark characters such as Mario, Peach, and Bowser…however, there are two characters that join your quest for the seven stars…and haven’t been heard from since."

And eventually when I have kids - I'm sure they would get a kick out of it.

The train just keeps on rolling.
