The Entertainment Software Rating Board has confirmed that a new Tecmo Bowl game called Tecmo Bowl Throwback is coming to the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in the near future.

"It's a common occurrence reviewing Nintendo DS games: the occasional release will feature online support using the established Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service and the Nintendo DS system's inherent Wi-Fi capabilities. To test out the support, we'll hop on the service and try to play a match-up with someone else across the globe just to see how well or poorly the feature's been implemented, checking to see how well the game holds up to the usual internet lag.

Despite the latest troubles facing developer and publisher Tecmo, the company looks to make a showing that it is still alive, bringing three games to this year's E3 Media & Business Summit.

The first game in the lineup is one mostly everyone should be familiar with: Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff for the DS, the latest game in the company's American football series. The game will not use the NFL or NFLPA licenses, due to EA holding exclusive rights to both. However, the game will sport 32 original...

"Earlier this year, third-party publisher Tecmo revealed that a DS version of the classic football franchise Tecmo Bowl is in development. The company has been supporting the DS effort with a plethora of screenshots and video updates in recent weeks.

In a mailer sent to press today, Tecmo confirmed that a Wii build of Tecmo Bowl is also in development.
