The Evolution Championship Series is an annual video game tournament that focuses exclusively on fighting games. In fighting game communities it is commonly referred to as "Evo", and is currently the premier video game tournament for fighting games in the United States. As with Super Battle Opera, the Evolution tournaments are so well known that typically contestants will travel from all over the world to participate, most notably Japan.
The Evolution Championship Series aka. the world championships of fighting games starts today and will run through July 31st. So if you are interested in Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, Tekken or any other fighter check out the streams!
The primary stream will also be shown on Playstation Home.

On Thursday Namco Bandai will release a new patch for Tekken 6 that is set to offer some improvements. Most notably these improvements are for the online component of the game. Apart from improved input response, the patch is supposed to further fix the online lag issues and help out players in ranked matches by finding matches according to priorities and canceling out of matches if the opponent's connection is poor.

New information has been revealed on the pre-order bonuses and the bundles accompanying the release of Tekken 6. The Yoshimitsu Cardboard Tube Samurai alternate costume picture that's been circling around since it was revealed a couple of days ago can be obtained as a pre-order bonus from Gamestop. Along with the costume, the pre-order bonus will also have samurai battle banners to customize your characters in-game. But they don't stop there. They're also throwing in a Tekken 6 calendar.

"NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. have revealed details on the new Scenario Campaign mode included in Tekken 6, the latest entry to the widely appreciated Beat-'Em-Up series. The new mode, available in both the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 versions of Tekken 6 will allow players to participate in single-player or two-player online co-operative campaigns while experiencing intense action and large-scale battles."
Fans of hand-held consoles will be pleased to hear this news. Tekken 6 and Soul Calibur are coming to the Playstation Portable.
Both games will have multiplayer support and heavy character customization. The Soul Calibur game is very similar to SCIV, but won't be a direct port.
It's no denying many PS exclusives have hit the bandwaggon of multiplatform, even the highly regarded fighting game Tekken 6 part take this move. Namco responded to the reasons why this PS exclusive went multiplatform. It appeared many fans of the series that moved to the 360, expressed their interest in the title and cried out for Namco to turn this into multiplatform to play it. At their conference at the Tokyo Game Show starting today, Microsoft has announced some games headed their way to the Xbox 360:
In a special press conference that was held yesterday, Namco Bandai announced that the original version of Tekken 6 that was released at late 2007, will not reach the consoles, but the newer version named 'Bloodline Rebellion' will, and will have more content than it's arcade version!
"Tekken 6 Bloodline Rebellion has been announced! It will be officially shown at the upcoming Amusement Show from September 18 - 20 in Tokyo, Japan! It will be an upgraded version of the existing Tekken 6 game and is slated for an arcade release in December! Last year it was confirmed that a Tekken movie was in the works, and that Dwight H. Little will be directing the game-to-movie adaptation. Fans waited for months for more info, but little else was revealed.
