"As my author bio at the top of the page lists, I mentioned that not only am I a gamer, but I’m also a musician as well. I’m a vocalist by nature, but I also dabble in other instruments, such as the piano, guitar and bass guitar. But, in no way, shape or form do I consider myself great, hence the wording “dabble.”
Games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero allow players to take part in a performance of popular songs by playing controllers that are modeled after musical instruments. Over the years..."

"Last night, the GAME British Academy Video Games Awards ceremony took place in London, with a number of shocking results. While few would argue that Batman: Arkham Asylum found itself up against some tough competition for the coveted Game of the Year award, the fact that Rocksteady Studios walked away with the award will certainly be a boon to UK videogame development. However, another winner is now going to be a benefit to the UK’s gaming public, as the UK’s largest high street videogames re..."

"The recent end to 2009 and all the holidays that lead up to the New Year involved a lot of traveling to a lot of different relative's houses. Since I'm the "gamer" of the family, it's usually up to me to bring some form to digital entertainment or know the latest stuff out there. The following list are some of the games requested to me and ones that are always crowd pleasers."

"Like Jack Bauer, Chuck Norris and Neil Patrick Harris rise above the station of mortal men and become legendary, so do some video games. While 2009 was a tough year for the industry, both financially and creatively, that didn't stop a handful of titles from being enshrined into the video game canon."

"Thanksgiving is here and that means one thing for retailers and bargain hunters, "Black Friday" is tomorrow. But rather than wake up at 2 AM or 3 AM or even earlier, Amazon has the perfect solution. Shop for deals from your pajamas a day early. Yes, Amazon has posted their Black Friday deals a day early. With more deals to be added tomorrow."
"MTV Games and Harmonix are getting ready for a big holiday push for The Beatles: Rock Band. The game which was released earlier this year at the end of August was met with huge critical acclaim and fans went in drones to get their hands on the Fab Four. During the holidays you can expect to see more Beatles mania in the form of a new TV commercial which will begin airing Saturday, November 21st. The new TV spot definitely makes me want to play the game right now but I don’t know if my family ..."

This the newest The Bender, sees the return of the guys from Philadelphia. We chat about what shenanigans went on at the GameX convention (both good and bad) and also find time to catch up with the news of the week. Including that new DSi "Old People Edition", the sillyness that will come out of the Modern Warfare 2 leaked footage, and I think we might have snuck some PSPgo jabs in before the end. Enjoy!

"Being a huge Rock Band fan and a huge Beatles fan, The Beatles Rock Band was a no brainer for me. I only regret not picking it up sooner. That is not to say that The Beatles is the definitive Rock Band experience. There is much to love and a small amount to be disappointed by. Is this a must purchase? Well read the review and find out."

"To insist that it offers little for the progression of the Rhythm Action would by folly, as the year’s grace since Rock Band 2 has clearly given Harmonix time to think about more than just adapting The Beatles to a videogame, however, launching with the same week as Guitar Hero 5 may be more a of a challenge in the traditional videogame buying demographic."

"The Beatles: Rock Band is nothing short of a masterpiece. Beatles fans span decades and this accessible yet challenging game bridges the generational divide. There is something for everybody to love in this game.
The band’s original fans will get a kick out of seeing The Beatles perform in the Cavern Club or on the Ed Sullivan Show.
Younger fans will love finally seeing Beatles songs released on the interactive Rock Band format.
Parents can play with children to expose them to their ..."
"While previous Rock Band and Guitar Hero Career Modes have never been without their own charm, The Beatles: Rock Band has clearly taken this tradition to new heights. The Story Mode is less about your band’s performance, and more concerned with that aforementioned legacy. Beginning at the once humble Cavern Club in 1963, players experience the chronology of The Beatles’ popular releases through a series of venues famously significant in their career."

"As a rare and highly collectable piece of The Beatles merchandise, the Xbox 360 console is receiving a lot of attention. The Xbox 360 console is equipped with a Hard-Disk Drive, though which model the unit is has not been specified. What has been specified, however, is that all proceeds will benefit the same cause as the Xbox 360 exclusive Downloadable Content (DLC), Doctors Without Borders."
"The Beatles: Rock Band offers a warm and inviting experience to those who are new to The Beatles’ music or longtime fans who have been waiting for the chance to take up the mantle of their favorite band member and sing their hearts out to “I Want To Hold Your Hand.” Personally, this is one of the biggest things to happen to music gaming, and I am honored to be a part of it. While it may only come packaged with 45 songs and is devoid of any Beatles narration (impossible to a degree since only ..."

"Q: So for those tent pole releases, what happens after The Beatles game – what’s coming in 2010? Another major artist game? Or Rock Band 3?
A: We’re exploring both – and possibly will do both. The Harmonix development team are working on what is effectively the next game, or ‘Rock Band 3’. We aren’t standing still – we will keep moving into new areas and look at new technologies that our platform holder partners are also developing, such as Project Natal from Microsoft. We’re working with ..."

The first three albums scheduled for release are “Rubber Soul,” “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” and “Abbey Road.” The Beatles’ music may be best served by the philosophy of i..."

"Looking at music games as part of our NPD analysis, Gamasutra has discovered that U.S. Guitar Hero/Rock Band revenues are down 49% year on year, as discounted hardware and over 20 SKUs flood the market.
June 2009 was the second consecutive month without a Rock Band or Guitar Hero title in the top 20 software titles. The last time the software charts went two months without one of these franchises was in September and October 2007, right before the launch of Guitar Hero II on the PlayStatio..."
Though it has been known for quite some time now that Led Zeppelin is not going to be putting their songs in a rhythm game anytime soon (yet Puff Daddy is okay to lend the music to), Jimmy Page and Jack White are both letting their views known about these type of games.
Note: Jack White has been featured in a music game before. I'm not referring to the upcoming Guitar Hero 5, but in fact that Disney game "Ultimate Band"
Ripten believe they've managed to get their hands on a possible set list for The Beatles' incarnation of Rock Band. According to the leaked list, the game will feature songs such as Day Tripper, Help!, Come Together, Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds, and many many others. If this list is anything to believe, the songs showed in the game's intro will also be playable. However, we'll have to wait for Harmonix, EA, or MTV Games to officially dismiss or confirm the list.

"After many rumours, Harmonix, MTV Games and Electronic Arts finally revealed The Beatles: Rock Band in October 2008. The game was publicly displayed in a rather audacious manner on Monday at Microsoft’s Pre-E3 Press Conference, assisted by the on-stage presence of both Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. Today, the game was available for the attendants of the expo to try for themselves."
The artist formerly known as Intern Perry is back with another preview of a game I want to play in an effort to fill me with rage. The game is Rock Band the Beatles and he comes through with his impressions after playing. Go to source for his full write up and pictures:
Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr were at the Microsoft Convention to help introduce Beatles: Rock Band, much to the delight of many fans. Also the new guitars and drum set was introduced.

Electronic Theatre now brings you the full rundown of the event, with an insightful analysis of how each revelation will affect you, and the way you play games."

"In addition to the previously announced US MSRP of $249.99, The Beatles: Rock Band Limited Edition Premium Bundle will retail in continental Europe for MSRP €199.00 and for MSRP £179.00 in the UK."
So we've had the release date and pricing for the upcoming Rock Band Beatles game given to us, now .. the box art.
"And so I was struck dumb by the announcement of a Rock Band game devoted entirely to The Beatles. It's an idea with such great potential, as a musical experience, as a cultural revival, as a way for new listeners to connect with the mothership of modern music. But it's just as likely to be a disaster. It's not hard to imagine a cold, calculated, virtual theme park, sanitized for a family audience and polluted by baby boomer nostalgia for a time that never existed (when they were awesome and l..."
