The King of Fighters movie trailer and debut screens have left many fans feeling wary about whether or not the movie will be any good.

A batch of brand new screenshots have been revealed, showing some fighting and a bit of sex appeal. Maybe they will change fans' minds about the movie adaptation? But then again, maybe not.

If you haven't been keeping up-to-date with the movie, the cast members are: Ray Park as Rugal Bernstein, Sean Faris as Kyo Kusanagi, Wii Yun Lee as Iori Yagami, Mag...

"Some would say that The King of Fighters XII is hoping to ride to the Beat-‘Em-Up bandwagon; the revived appreciation for the genre brought about by Street Fighter IV earlier this year. However within just a handful of fights, most will recognise this simply isn’t the case. It’s true that The King of Fighters XII has numerous similarities in its combat system, most notably the appearance of a Cross-Up point of impact as originally seen in Street Fighter II, but The King of Fighters XII ..."

"Commemorating the 15th anniversary of the franchise, The King of Fighters XII serves-up twenty two characters each with their own unique moves and styles in a stunning 2D production incorporating all-new, high-resolution fighters fluidly animating across painstakingly detailed, 100% hand-drawn backgrounds. Many fan favourites, such as Terry Bogard, Robert Garcia, Ash Crimson, Kyo Kusanagi and Iori Yagami make a welcome return, along with two new additions to the home console version of the ti..."

"King of Fighters XII was released on July 28, 2009. The game features hand-drawn 2D character sprites and backgrounds, which are very beautifully drawn, but sadly the art does not live up to the HD era. All of the art in KOFXII seems to be of a very low resolution, which makes me think that this game may have been intended for a PS2 release. While the game features a whopping 22 playable characters, this is a big departure from the series. This iteration of KOF does not feature any type of st..."

2009 could certainly be called the "year of the fighters," and fans have been eagerly awaiting King of Fighters XII, a title that's supposed to revitalize the franchise. So, with the game being out for a few days now, how does it fare? IGN are certainly unimpressed (considering how much they hyped the hell out of the game), citing issues such as online multiplayer, the visual style, gameplay issues, and, simply, not doing what BlazBlue did as reasons. Die-hard fans might want to give the game...

"Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes (XBLA)

I can appreciate the fact that Capcom was able to pull off the impossible and get Marvel to allow it to re-release the game, even if it is only through digital distribution. I'm also impressed that Capcom had the foresight to use the original Dreamcast code when porting instead of going the easier route and using either the PS2 or Xbox version as a base. Having an arcade perfect (or nearly arcade perfect) port is pretty important if they want t..."

Although the game is supposed to come out officially tomorrow, players have experienced some issues during online play, according to a spokesperson. In order to remedy this, they will be releasing online patches with the first one being released tomorrow for the PS3 (no word on when the 360 one can be downloaded yet). Tomorrow's patch is supposed to reduce noticeable lag and improve stability online.

Here's a list of this weeks game releases, both on- and offline. The most popular retail titles are Wii Sports Resort on Wii, The King of Fighters XII on PS3 & Xbox 360 and BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Standard Edition on PS3 & Xbox 360.

At long last, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 sees re-release this week on Xbox LIVE Arcade -- get your fight sticks ready, boys and girls.

Aside from that, Capcom delivers more with the ad-ridden Bionic Commando on PC, the very unique and atmospheric adventure Memento Mori (means "Remember you shall die"), SNK and Ignition brings us the twelfth iteration in the King of Fighters series, and Nintendo brings us some sports...thing (hey, I never said these lists weren't biased).

Until next time!

"The newly revamped website will serve as the headquarters for the company’s corporate and community initiatives and will grant users access to Ignition Entertainment’s global territories which includes Europe, Japan and the USA. Fans and gamers worldwide will now be able to easily navigate through a single portal that extends to a social network with fully supported Twitter and Facebook pages for each title."

Here's a new gameplay trailer to keep KoF fans waiting until the game is released. So far, the game's release date has shifted from the obscure "end-July" timeframe to a specific July 30 date for Japan. No news on the worldwide release date which was supposed to be done nearly simultaneously. Till then you can keep feasting your eyes on the trailers.

With news of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 being delayed, King of Fighters XII is the latest fighting game to suffer the same fate. The Japanese build was initially supposed to come out on July 16. However, it's being pushed to a now obscure "July release" instead. The reason cited for this delay is to improve on the title. This might not be so horrible for Japanese fans who can surely wait out 2 weeks at the very most; however, there is no idea about how this can impact the release date in Europe and ...

KoF fanboys might be at a loss to hear that fan-favorite Mai Shiranui will not be featured in the upcoming King of Fighters XII. Shane Bettenhausen, who is the director of business development at Ignition, confirmed that Mai will not be making an appearance. Although, he did mention that there will be downloadable content. However, he didn't say whether she will be featured as a DLC character, let alone what the DLC will be. Asked why they decided to do this, he gave the example of Capcom dro...

"The movie version centers around "the pursuit of three artifacts that will grant their owner unlimited power over reality." More info about the plot reads as follows:

It also looks like the King of Fighters movie will introduce a new science fiction spin into the setting established in the games' universe by following the surviving members of three legendary fighting clans who are continually whisked away to other dimensions by an evil power. As the fighters enter each new world they ...

Ignition Entertainment was at E3 2009 with a few highly-anticipated titles for 2009, starting with King of Fighters XII. In tow, we have the new Samurai Shodown: Edge of Destiny and a Wii-exclusive side-scrolling adventure, Muramasa: The Demon Blade.

There are some big questions as to how the new KoF and Samurai Shodown will stand up against their predecessors, which we address in our evaluations based on in-depth previews at E3. And as for Muramasa? Well, it's actually pretty entertain...

Intern Perry comes back with another quick write up and a gameplay video from E3, this time of the newest in the classic King of Fighters series.

Gamers loved the Japanese box art for The King of Fighters XII, so Ignition Entertainment have decided to give fans a choice. They are asking the public to choose which box-art they would like to see come to America.

"Option 1" is the Japanese box art, while "Option 2" is the box art that was originally intended for North America.

"

We know that SNK's King of Fighters XII will be ported from arcades to the PS3 and Xbox 360. Publisher Ignition sends by word that the English site for the console ports is online. It's a little sparse at the moment, but you can grab some cool wallpapers, check out some exclusive new screens for the upcoming title and register for a chance to place in an upcoming KOF tourney to be held in LA. As the game's July 7th release draws closer, we can definitely expect to see more stuff.

"Ignition Entertainment have today released the first official screenshots and artwork for the upcoming The King of Fighter XII. The King of Fighters is a highly successful one-on-one Beat-‘Em-Up franchise, often considered to be the Hardcore Gamer’s series of choice, and The King of Fighter XII is poised to extend that reputation when it arrives on PLAYSTATION3 and Xbox360 later this year."

"Ignition Entertainment Ltd., a UTV Enterprise, a worldwide publisher and developer of videogames and SNK Playmore announced today that The King of Fighters XII is releasing worldwide in July 2009 on the PLAYSTATION3 and the Xbox360."

Popular for more than just her fighting skills, Mai Shiranui from the The King of Fighters series is reincarnated in a new figurine! You'll be able to buy her in the "T&A-showcase pose" for 16,590 Yen or approximately $180 American.
