"Last night Sony showcased all of what we’re supposed to look forward to in the coming months for the PlayStation brand, and they truly had a solid conference. However, while there were some great items showcased, such as Uncharted 3, the PS Vita, and more, I felt like as the conference started to wrap up last night, some things were missing, or left out."

Escort quests, something that has become insanely popular in games for the last two generations of consoles. Goozernation has put together a list of games with escort quests, include, ICO, Dead Rising, Resident Evil 4, and Enslaved, The problem here is there is no standard for games, most of the time the NPC is a useless burden and makes the game almost unplayable. Should developers due away with the escort missions? Should there be some sort of standard?

"Originally scheduled for a late Holiday 2011 release, creative director Fumito Ueda explained that the delay is necessary "to provide more challenging and better quality of content to users and to fulfill First Party Studio's obligations," but he was quick to reiterate that the development team is working as fast as they can while maintaining the high quality expected from a First-Party Studio."

The Last Guardian is and now was one of the most-anticipated titles of the year. It has officially been delayed with no official release date given. Check out the post for all the details on the matter.

"The types and styles of video gaming, as well as the artistic engineering and narrative builds, have an enormous breadth. We can play innovative games and experience fresh stories to a level that is practically unrivaled in the entertainment world."

Team Ico has garnered a reputation of be one of the most story driven developers in the industry. So it only seems natural that they would have aspirations to tackle the... FPS genre?! Check out the full and see what the creative director said of the matter. Cheers!

"Though it sometimes seems like the console wars will never end, in reality, all three companies have found a hefty segment in today’s industry. There’s no doubt that the PS3 struggled upon its release, and the PSP seems to have been lagging behind the DS for years, but that doesn’t mean Sony hasn’t built up an impressive collection of exclusive games between the two consoles. From the award-winning to the slightly overrated, here’s the top 10 Sony franchises of the current generation:"

"Pitting two franchises as dear to our hearts as Uncharted and the ICO/Shadow of the Colossus series against one another is like forcing your two favorite children to contend in brutal ladder-style death tourneys to determine which of them gets a kiss before you tuck them into bed. Sometimes, it just has to be done. Why? Because we say so."

2010 was another hot year for video games. With titles such as Marvel vs. Capcom 3, LittleBigPlanet 2, Lost in Shadow, and Okamiden already confirmed for 2011, the new year looks pretty bright too. BrightHub looks ahead at some of the hottest upcoming releases of 2011.

"This week's episode, as you may have guessed, has a healthy dose of Halo: Reach talk. We delve into the multiplayer, campaign, co-op, and making female spartans with nice butts. After all that we bring up Space Invaders Infinity Gene, Star Wars: Empire at War, and more.

NOT as usual the whole crew will bring up news articles, mostly pertaining to TGS. Then we answer an "astounding" three e-mails, and debate pie and cake."

"Rumors have swirled over the past month that Sony would release a "Team Ico Collection," with HD versions of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus on one Blu-ray for the PlayStation 3. Now Sony has commented on the matter for the first time, and while that comment sadly isn't a flat-out confirmation, it does raise hope as Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida said they are "very aware" of the demand and interested in the prospect themselves.

"As soon as we released God of War in an HD colle..."

"Hate to say we told you so. But we told you so. Amazon France has listed the Team ICO Collection for June 2011 at €69.95.

We were previously been told that the pack is coming, and that it will include PS2 classics ICO and Shadow of the Colossus.

A further report cited it for a Q1 2011 release.

Sounds as though Sony’s very keen on the whole remix idea: SCE Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida said at E3 that more HD collections are being considered."

Although this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo had a lot of big announcements, some of the more popular games and hardware was completely missing from the convention. Here is a list of the top 10 biggest no-shows at E3 2010.

The top five upcoming Playstation 3 exclusive titles (that has been officially announced) to look forward to once you are done playing God of War III.

"As of this writing, we’re already three weeks into 2010. The “new” year is already practically ancient, and pretty soon we’ll have run out of time to make wild, erratic, entirely factual predictions about things that will happen over the next 11 months. So with January nearly over, we’re going for the jugular and answering the question that’s on everyone’s mind: between the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and PC, which gaming platform will claim victory by the end of this year.

Experts antici..."

"We’re barely two weeks into 2010 and there’s already enough must-have games to choke one of Avatar’s six-legged horses. January alone is home to seven big-name releases, with February, March and April continuing the trend. Hell, we even know what’s coming in the summer and in some cases (like Halo Reach) we’re even certain of the fall’s heaviest hitters.

Collected here is every game that matters (so far) in 2010. Obviously some games will slip and others will be announced in June at E3, bu..."

The Playstation 3 has gotten some excellent exclusive games over the past two years. 2010 is shaping up to be yet another great year for PS3-only titles.

"As games get more cinematic, the trailers are only going to get more elaborate. This year brought us great efforts from the likes of Bungie, Rockstar and Valve, with trailers featuring everything from live action sequences to the voice talents of Patrick Stewart. Here are some of our favorites."

Over the past decade, Sony has been quite active at creating new franchises for their Playstation platforms. Their stable of new intellectual properties are diverse and, more importantly, top notch in quality.

Team Ico fans are eagerly waiting to the smallest info on The Last Guardian, and now we have received some brand new screens. Showing off the beautiful graphics and the gentle giant griffin creature, which really needs a final name. Check out all the screens after the jump.

You, like me, were probably very excited when the 'Trico' trailer leaked all over the Internet a few weeks before E3. Well, Fumito Ueda was actually saw it as a nightmare. He said he was working very hard to prepare it for E3, only to have an early concept leaked. He put a lot of effort in creating 'Trico' creature, and his inspiration was a cat that he bought when starting on the game. He continues on to talk a lot about the PS3, fan reactions to the trailer, and more about his cat.

Minus the annoying outside noise and people walking in front of the screen, this trailer will keep us fans happy until a proper video is released. Showing off the beautiful environment as the griffin lies underneath the sun sleeping away. The boy slowly approaches him and we see the close interactions between the two.

If you were like me, you probably were very disappointed when The Last Guardian was not on Sony's TGS line up. Well some good news has surfaced, Team Ico will be at the show and they will be showing off the game. Now the Tokyo Game Show is complete.

Team Ico's previous games, Ico and Shadow Of The Colossus, didn't have massive sales. One of the reasons why Ico sold poorly in the US was the lack of appeal to that audience. Sony tried to catch their attention by creating a different boxart for the game, which to contrary to popular opinion, was worse then the JP boxart. So now Team Ico are paying special attention to the west and how to capture their attention. One is the name of the game, it was chosen to appeal to that audience.

You have probably seen the trailer for The Last Guardian. Showing what looks like a lovable creature that the main character befriends. But if you pay attention to the intro of the trailer, it shows a hidden creature tied to a chain. One would assume it is the same creature, but some digging reveals it could be another one of the same creatures. The feathers that are shown during that trailer are black, while the friendly creature is grey/silver. Could we see some good vs. evil symbolism here?

If your a big fan of ICO or Shadow of The Colossus like me, then you have probably have watched the E3 trailer half a dozen times. Trying to analyse the last bit of details. Well you probably missed a few things, and IGN take you through a tour of the video and show you a lot of stuff you probably missed.

"Before you expect a bias answer to the question above, I adore both types of graphical output, and you could never get me to decide between the two. Since I have remembered, my choice of console games haven’t just lay within the simplicity of seeing if it is good or not, but also the visual feast too. This may not always be the best way to go shopping for games, but some masterpieces are idolised by their gameplay, story and design, and then by their graphical output; the two prime examples b..."

"Although it was surrounded by two hours worth of major announcements and unveilings, the trailer for Team Ico's first PS3 project, The Last Guardian was, for many, the highlight of Sony's E3 press conference yesterday. In fact, we're sure many have been watching the trailer over and over non-stop since the conference.

Well hit the pause button! We've got some actual details on the game thanks to a lengthy Famitsu interview with director Fumito Ueda."

""As you may well know, PlayStation LifeStyle leaked the first trailer of Project Trico, now officially known as The Last Guardian, a few weeks before E3. The third game from the creator of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian had been developed under a shroud of secrecy for many years, and no one was more surprised about the leak than Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony WorldWide Studios.""

Here is the trailer for Team ICO's next game The Last Guardian (aka "Trico") :

Trico was merely rumoured a fortnight ago, with a trailer being shown (which was then said to have been an old build)... well it seems the trailer was indeed this years E3 trailer, and the final name of the game will not be Trico, but The Last Guardian.

The trailer, whilst including scenes from the first leaked trailer, also showed many new scenes...

Just a few days ago, the gamers were shocked by leaked footage of the new game 'Project Trico' which is a spiritual successor to SotC and Ico. Now details are surfing about the game. Such as when the video was original created, some possible controls schemes and how the game could be very different in the end.

"This is very early footage the next game from Team ICO. As with most early footage you can expect graphical enhancements for the final product. Some of these elements, such as the main character, or scenarios you see here may not make the final cut.

"

PlayStation LifeStyle has exclusive screenshots of Project Trico, the third game from the developers of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. The game looks to be focusing on a young boy and a baby griffon, both of whom need the other to survive.
