The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

Mario and Link have been in dozens of Nintendo games. Combined they have sold close to 3 million games. Both have had their ups and downs, but the question remains who is the king of Nintendo?

Video games make good Movies. Video Games also make good fake Movie trailers. They are hilarious and coming from video games you would never expect. So check them out!

"At the end of the trailer, the figure vanishes from sight, leaving diamond-shaped particles in his wake. Many have rightly compared this visual effect to what happens when Twilight creatures dissipate - they too leave behind small particles, although these particles are blackened, presumably an aftereffect of a long stay in the Twilight Realm. Could this similarity be a bona fide connection? Could this strange man be an ancestor of the Twili?"

"We live in a global world. We can travel distances that would once have taken years to span in less than 24 hours. We can communicate with people on completely different continents virtually instantly via the Almighty Internetz. We all contribute to a world economy by buying goods manufactured in and imported from foreign countries. Whereas the world was once sharply divided between East and West, now we see a blending, a deep connection, that binds us together in the world community. [...] S..."

"Since there are literally hundreds of thousands of games out there, it’s no easy task for lead characters to make a lasting impression on the player. Once in a while however, you'll come across a leader that's different. Somehow, that character manages to set himself apart from the others."

The title sounds somewhat of a fairy tale story don't you think? Well good, because IGN take a look back at games that most young Fantasy RPG veterans have grown to love. A name that have become beholden to Nintendo ever since it's inception in 1983 on the Famicom Disk System. So sit back, relax and read on for a little history lesson on one of our favorite RPG Fantasy heroes - Link.

"“Princess Zelda”. Almost every Zelda game contains some reference to its namesake, the Princess of Hyrule, Zelda. Whether she is masquerading as Sheik or Tetra, if she is there in person or in spirit, or if we see her in the game or in a flashback, Zelda is always “Princess” Zelda. It’s as if Nintendo made the word “Princess” her first name and “Zelda” her surname.

I will admit that I am quite the Princess Zelda fan, and often find myself wondering why we see her acting in the role of the ..."

"We've heard that "two brains are better than one," and while video games heroes are able to handle themselves, it's hard to deny the strength in numbers and the power of teamwork. Sidekicks are a valuable resource to many aspiring heroes, and if you think about it, even some villains need them around. These partners not only watch your back, but they also assist you in finding key items and coming up with strategies to defeat your enemies. Despite minor annoyances, it's safe to admit that ..."

"“Tell me something – Do you ever feel a strange sadness as night falls?”

Strange sadness. Better words could not be found to describe the most recent of the console Zelda games, Twilight Princess. A melancholy air pervades the tale, much like the Twilight creeping over the land. Unlike the twilight though, the gloom doesn’t recede with the coming of the hero, or the fall of Ganondorf. Rather, it seems to stay all the way through, leaving gamers with the feeling that despite their best effo..."

"A project nearly eight months in the making, Zelda Informer is proud to present our staffs Top 5 Zelda Game listing. It's always a great debate on what games are truly the cream of the crop, but these 5 titles, no matter how many re-votes, discussions, and debates... always rose to the top of the pile."

Amazon.com recently made additional discounts on several best-selling Nintendo DS games, either matching or beating the best prices ever available for these titles. Discounted games include Pokemon HeartGold ($30), Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box ($25), The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks ($20), Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story ($25), Bejeweled Twist ($13) and Mario Kart DS: ($27)

"Last night, the GAME British Academy Video Games Awards ceremony took place in London, with a number of shocking results. While few would argue that Batman: Arkham Asylum found itself up against some tough competition for the coveted Game of the Year award, the fact that Rocksteady Studios walked away with the award will certainly be a boon to UK videogame development. However, another winner is now going to be a benefit to the UK’s gaming public, as the UK’s largest high street videogames re..."

With the BAFTA Awards coming up late this week (March 19), AAG's Ian Crane looks at the nominees and does some predictions of his own as to which game will win what category at the famous awards later this week.

"Lets look at the complaints about Zelda that have been uttered since Ocarina of Time. Majora's Mask's 3 Day system makes the game unaccessible and the game is "too hard". Oracle of Seasons and Ages were not made by Nintendo, the boss fights are too difficult, and the combined ending was too convoluted to expect anyone to experience it. Four Swords and by extension The Minish Cap is too easy. Twilight Princess is too much like Ocarina of Time. Phantom Hourglass is too cartoony, stylus controls..."

"Sailing with Hourglass' Linebeck was constant joyous freedom, a treat so effervescent that even the game's third-act fetch-quest couldn't stop the fun. But riding the titular Spirit Tracks brought everyone's least favorite filler genre - wahey, it's a rail-shooter! - to Zelda."

"Spirit Tracks has been out for just over two months and it's safe to say the game has been a wild success, at least In the United States. While not everyone likes the game, it did enough to convince many gamers that it is indeed worthy of being a Zelda title. Like every game there are always ideas and concepts that didn't make the cut. Some of them because they were silly, others due to time constraints, and still others for varying other reasons. Recently, some concept art was released to th..."

"With The Legend of Zelda series being one of the most successful gaming franchises to date, what I am about to say will probably come as a shock, but none the less, it is all true. In its current state, The Legend of Zelda franchise will not ever be, and is not currently respected by the average hardcore gamer. It is my intention to state what elements of the game that needs changed to bring the series up to par and make it more worthy of respect. While stating all of this however, I will not..."

"The shortlist for the BAFTA GAME Award 2009 has been announced and you - the British public - will decide who nabs the prize.

Last year 60,000 gamers voted, with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare crowned the eventual winner. This time around the sequel could repeat the feat, but will face stiff competition from the likes of Batman: Arkham Asylum and FIFA 10."

For the first time since Christmas, Amazon is again discounted Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks for Nintendo DS to $25. That's $10 off retail and the best price available at this moment.

"Bombs have a rich history in the Zelda world. They have been around ever since the series was created, and have only not appeared in one title to date (The Adventure of Link). There are 14 different types of bombs created over the years and there are surely more to come. They have been used to find hidden passage ways, solve puzzles, and to defeat enemies. The bomb has truly become a staple in Link's arsenal, so it's time to go through the history of this now legendary item."

"Darksiders is considered by many to be a great game, albeit one that suffers from an intense case of plagiarism. Comparisons to the The Legend of Zelda run amok, with even the game's developer, Vigil, happily confessing to borrowing gameplay elements from the classic Nintendo franchise.

Let us at least try and be honest here. If you've played one Zelda game, you've played them all. Some stupid little elf starts off doing nothing, goes to a dungeon, gets a boomerang, gets a hookshot, gets ..."

"As 2009 came to a close, we posted a weeklong look at our favorite games of 2009. However, those 40 titles (including the eight we ultimately chose to honor as "The Best of the Best") were far from the only good games released last year. And did our picks match up with the rest of the game industry? But most importantly, what we really wanted to know was which game was truly the best game of 2009."

The Nintendo DS had another big year in 2009 with a strong lineup of exclusive games. So which of the DS-only titles tat was released last year are worth playing?

"For the USA the first 10 listed are:
1. New Super Mario Bros. (Wii)
2. Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board (Wii)
3. Wii Sports Resort with Wii MotionPlus Accessory (Wii)
4. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360)
5. Wii Play with Wii Remote (Wii)
6. Assassin's Creed II (Xbox 360)
7. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PS3)
8. Wii Fit Plus (Wii)
9. Left 4 Dead 2 (Xbox 360)
10. The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (DS)"

Amazon just put on sale The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games video games for Nintendo DS. All 4 games are at $25 which is $10-$15 off regular price. This is the best price for these hot games I have every seen. Deal would not last long.

"Christmas will have come and gone in January, but doesn’t mean you can stop spending money! The Spawn Kill cast minus a couple of us — that’s Molotov Cupcake, Tigresa, K-Tuck, The Herp, and Snarkasaur — discusses the cornucopia of games being released Q1 of 2010 and various subjects that coincide with the games coming out as well as our subsequently drained bank accounts. Also on the agenda as usual is what we’ve been playing as well as a couple short news snippets."

"Having Zelda's spirit with you as you guide Link through mystical temples, vast landscapes and villages has a direct impact on the gameplay. With her, players can control hulking suits of armour known as Phantoms, allowing you to direct both Link and these new allies in order to battle enemies, solve puzzles and uncover secrets. Zelda also rides alongside Link on his customisable train, as you travel across vast worlds, offering wisdom that will help you discover new areas and items."

Icrontic's ceaselessly cheerful CB Droege introduces us to this weeks' featured new releases in the world of gaming, including The Saboteur, Hello Kitty Online, Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, and Pixeljunk Shooter.

"With the usual deluge of video game releases in the third and fourth quarter, combined with the continuing sagging economy, gamers may have an even harder time this holiday season coming up with the cash for all the games they want. In case you're hoping Santa (or, as the case may be, Hanukkah Harry) will bring you a sleighful of goodies this year, here's a little help making up those lists of yours."

"Lets look at things objectively first. Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma have both staked claims that Link is you. It's often the reason given that if voice acting were to happen, no one wants Link to talk. Often times it the reasoning we have for him not having as much emotion as someone who is saving the world should have. Developer intent is that Link is us, so thus, he must be. Not so fast."

"The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks launches across Europe on 11th December 2009. Make sure you hit the right note by blowing into the Nintendo DS microphone, and use the Stylus and Touch Screen to set the right pitch and play the correct melodies on your Spirit Pipes."

The barrage of Spirit Tracks news, previews, and gameplay footage continues! The nice people over at Games Radar have taken taken the time to publish a writeup of the hour and a half they spent playing Spirit Tracks, complete with screens and other juicy bits of information -- and yes, there are spoilers.

For those who can't get enough Spirit Tracks, Writer/Editor Craig Harris, over at IGN, recently published a preview of the game.

Be warned, the article details much of the game's plot and characters' involvement. If you want to avoid spoiling the game for yourself, you would be wise to steer clear of this one.

And when you're finished reading, come discuss the article in the Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks forum!

The Zelda craze is now in full effect, as Nintendo launches the official English website for Spirit Tracks.

Nothing new to be said, other than it's up and contains information on how you can reserve your copy of the game.

"It was among the most outrageous incidents in videogame history: in 1986, Princess Zelda was kidnapped from the land of Hyrule, setting off an intrepid rescue adventure for young hero Link. Unfortunately for Zelda, this offence has been repeated more than a dozen times since, leaving her largely out of sight while Link traversed dark dungeons and confronted monstrous enemies alone in order to save her. This time, in the new Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi adventure The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tr..."

The bundle offer is only available through participating retailers in the UK.

"This year's holiday season may be a looking a bit bleak due to many anticipated titles making the jump to 2010, but that didn't stop Nintendo from releasing a list that should appeal to just about everyone.

It's a pretty big list, but I'll talk about a couple of noteworthy items. First off, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks for the Nintendo DS received a release date of December 7. Along with the list, the game's boxart was also revealed. In case you're not in the know, Spirit Tracks is t..."

There have been alot of games delayed or cancelled this year. But that doesn't mean there still aren't any games worth checking out in the next few months.

A guy made a video on YouTube doing what I remember GameTrailers did quite a while ago, explaining the Zelda timeline. This guy did a complete job imo, very well done, and should be watched. However, he has received a response from Nintendo about this timeline saying.. there is no timeline. I've included the original video and the response in the quote.

Nintendo's newest Zelda title, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, has the series' iconic hero out of the water and onto the railway, in this new adventure for the Nintendo DS.

The new Zelda game heading for shelves later this year for the DS entitled Spirit Tracks has just had a trailer released for it. This trailer shows us that instead of a ship we will now presumably travel around on a train.

It boasts features from the previous DS Zelda game and also has practically the same graphics system, it looks fantastic and i am eagerly awaiting more news for this game.

During Satoru Iwata's keyboard at the 2009 Game Developer's Conference today, Nintendo has announced a new title for the Nintendo DS: The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. The game will feature Link on a railroad-building adventure, where he has the ability to create and control enemies to fend off other enemies. It is reportedly an extension of Phantom Hourglass's boat system.
