Throughout the course of gaming history, there have been several titles that revolutionized the medium, introducing new gameplay elements and allowing players to do things never thought possible within the realm of a video game. Bright Hub presents five of the most innovative games to ever hit gaming systems.
"Now what is the similarity between RPG, FPS, RTS, and TBS games? All of these game genres have game titles that are competing with each other. There are many good games out there but they have stiff competition with other games. The Sims on the other hand have little or no competition. It competes with its previous installments of the series."
""And so maybe sometimes the Lord compels people who desperately needs to pee to stay in their kitchen eating TV Dinners until hot urine soaks their floor and they weep in shame. And, really, who can blame Him?""

Bobby Kotick: I missed my chance to buy The Sims
During the mid-nineties, Maxis founder Will Wright was struggling to alleviate his company’s rapid decline in fortunes, despite initial soaring success with PC title SimCity.
Faced with a growing need to be acquired, Wright established his own floor at Maxis and began work on a new project, one he hoped would return the firm’s fortunes. That project was The Sims.
And one ..."
The Sims, a game which would eventually spawn one of the most prolific franchises in gaming history, was released on 4 February, 2000: ten years ago today.
"Last week, information surfaced that Edge of Reality's upcoming slate may have unexpectedly been lightened. According to the LinkedIn profile of a former developer, Sega pulled the plug earlier this year on Cipher Complex, an espionage-themed modern-day action game originally announced in 2006. And though neither Sega nor Edge of Reality confirmed that situation, the studio remains at work on a number of high-profile projects for Electronic Arts.
When you're a Sim, you're a Sim for life.

"As demonstrated by this handy chart, the clear purpose of every Sims game is in fact, to kill all your Sims. It may sound sadistic and cruel, but I guess that’s why video games were invented, so we don’t do this kind of thing in real life.
And by “this kind of thing” I mean build a room made entirely of fireplaces or kill our paperboys with swords. Not content with being merely tragic, these 10 Sim deaths are truly bizarre."
Will Wright is a legend in the gaming industry and you're now able to send in your questions to him! In case you don't know who he is, he is the co-founder of Maxis and created the game almost all of us know, SimCity.
Later on, Wright would help create The Sims, which has sold over 100 million copies, making it the best selling gaming franchise in the world! He is also helping in the development of Spore, where you're able to create your own beasts. The game will hit stores on September 7t...
"The add-on takes the Sims out of the suburbs and puts them into a busy apartment building. New character types fill the assortment of coffee shops and playgrounds that surround your flat.
You can 'choose' from five new buildings that range from converted lofts to roomy and posh studios or luxury apartments that come with a butler.
The new pack will be out in August, 2008."
"If were not jumping through hoops trying to save a kingdom, were fetching some rare Crystal Sword of Infinite Necromancy all out of the kindness of our hearts. What do we get in return? Ah, gee thanks for risking life and limb to do a big ol fancypants favor for me and restoring our world to what it once was from the Dark Ruler of Naught. Heres a medal, young adventurer. Never mind our bustling cleavage. Now get the hell out, street rat. Sorry bout the hard-on.
Whaaaaaa? Faster than..."
"The top-selling video game of all time has just surpassed another milestone, as EA announced that The Sims, which has been released in more than 20 different languages, has now sold 100 million copies the world over since it sprang from the mind of super-developer Will Wright in 2000. The first game's expansion-laden release was followed by The Sims 2 in the fall of 2004, while the recently announced The Sims 3 will drop sometime in 2009, for the first time letting sims venture beyond their f..."
The first details of The Sims 3 have been revealed. Introducing a free roaming world where you can go to work, communicate with neighbours (Sims don't talk English) along the way and pump some iron in the gym. This is one of the main new aspects of the game and should be interesting to dive in and check out. More new features are an inventory system and also clearly stated objectives.
There are also a wider range of body types to select from with the developer saying "near infinite" of bod...
Game Daily has listed and noticed ten games that may not mean to be creepy, but when you get into the little details, you might think, "What the heck is this?" and feel a weird chill run up your spine. Or not. Nonetheless, go to the source to read the list. Most you may not heard of,(at least I haven't) but when you read the 'Creepy Factor' you'll understand. Games range from Flatout to Carnival Games and All-Pro Football.
"Word today out of Hollywood uber-rag Variety is that The Sims, the top-selling PC game of all time, will soon grace the silver screen at a theater near you. 20th Century Fox acquired the motion picture rights to Electronic Arts' world-dominating franchise with the intention of translating the property into a live-action film.
"The Sims has done an interactive version of an old story, which is what it's like to have infinite power and how do you deal with it," said Rod Humble, head of Sims ..."
