Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 All-Play

"Sometime last week Major Nelson made a post detailing a Gillette/EA even being held on Febuary 3rd at the UCF Arena (Orlando, FL). Though on short notice, I went ahead and called into work and charged the batteries for my camera. The basic concept of the even is that the best players in EA Sports titles were to face the real life athletes in the games. Decent enough concept, there was no charge for the event, and it was only a 15 minute drive from my house."

"So, what of the Wii for the future? At Nometet.com we hope that game developers will wise up to what’s good about the Wii, and make a game where you can wave your Wiimote about and make your own moves, where you can use the balance board to shift the centre of gravity of your character, leading to a sweet game not unlike Mirror’s Edge only a lot more advanced. We predict said game will arrive at the same time as the nuclear apolocalypse. Or when people stop worrying about Sarah Palin. The apo..."

Darius Rucker, frontman for Hootie & the Blowfish, is a dedicated gamer. He's also buddies with Tiger Woods, and revealed an interesting fact about the golf champ's gaming habits.

In pretty god damn hilarious and sad news, EA has been caught using the Xbox 360 version of Tiger Woods 09 in the Wii version commercials. EA claims that the Nintendo footage "would not be of broadcast quality" so opted to lie to consumers on what product they would be receiving if they bought based on the graphical quality shown in the commercials.

"What that has to do with the Xbox Live event “Champions of Gaming” and in what order I’m not entirely sure, but then perhaps that has more to do with a well hydrated party, followed by an equally assured hangover, than anything to do with games.

I’d like to say Tiger, Federer and company were there… but even if they were I suspect the enthusiasm around the bar at Microsoft’s Australian offices may have quickly scared them off or at least had their handlers scrambling."

"Great news. Two of the OXCGN Team will be there to represent the site yet another major Gaming Event being held this Friday evening at Microsoft’s Head Office in Sydney. They will have a chance to play against the “Pro’s” in their own respective fields, as well as other games being held during the Tournament.

Sith Lord Jim and GrathiusXR will be doing the honours for the site, plus reporting back from the event the next day. Promises of great food, good drink, lots of Xbox360 Girls . . . ..."

"EA Mobile, a division of Electronic Arts Inc, today announced its autumn mobile games lineup for Europe, featuring top sporting titles and action packed racers to brighten up those long dark nights. Kicking off the new lineup is EA SPORTS FIFA 09..."

There's been a couple of reviews of the new golfing game, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09. It includes a lot of playable celebrities, courses and minigames to keep you entertained for a long time!

This new one is a discussion between two guys and it's pretty in depth!

Great discussion of such things as graphics and gameplay.

Recently released, it looks to be big.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 (of course, a golfing game) is available on most of the top consoles out there released a couple of weeks back.

The player may choose who to play with from a vast list of professional players. It also has a generous list of different courses to play at, so as not to get too boring or repetitive.

So here's another review for the new game from the Tiger.

"So now Mr. Woods is back with his golf game update, can we expect to see any kind of improvements to warrant yet another full price Tiger title on our game shelf?
Well, the improvements here are not in gameplay, but in connectivity and interaction – small but vital elements that deepen the PGA Tour experience in quite a profound and entertaining way."

Playing as Tiger just doesn't seem to please people enough like it once did according to EA and they've gone even further in keeping the long running franchise going. The '09 version will see the inclusion of a performance coach in the form of Hank Haney who coaches Tiger Woods in the real world. Is it enough to keep it from running dry though?

"Tiger Woods has had something of a peculiar relationship with the Nintendo Wii, given that both the 2007 and 2008 versions of his PGA Tour games were released within six months of one another. With the inevitable 2009 build on the horizon, you’ll not be surprised to hear that developer Electronic Arts is promising the most feature-packed edition of the series."
