"They say everyone learns from mistakes, but what if you could correct them before they even happened? That’s exactly what these following 5 games all have in common, as each title has revealed a world of parallel universes, where an accident, mistake or history itself can be re-written."

"Bullet-time has become a staple of action video games over the past ten years, and a lot of thanks can go to the sci-fi blockbuster, the Matrix. The art of slowing down time in order to act faster, or respond more precisely, has slipped it’s way into a number of our favourite games, and we’re here to pay homage to these time-bending experiences."

"While many people are excited about the re-mastered version that will arrive via Xbox Live Arcade, I’m still hoping to see a true sequel that will live up to the lineage of the original Perfect Dark."

"Time for Part 2, finding ten 360 games you haven’t played but really should. It would be nice if there was no need to write articles like this and all great games got the attention they deserve, but a lot of the financial success of a game is reliant on their marketing budget.

This means if the game isn’t a sequel to an established franchise or isn’t being pimped at trade conventions (like the upcoming E3 for example) it will often be overlooked, so it shouldn’t be surprising that these la..."

"Shooters truly are a haven for folks that enjoy inflicting massive amounts of pain on the enemies they encounter in games (read: not in real life). It’s good, harmless fun and a nice way to release some pent-up frustration without causing any property damage (or doing anything else you shouldn’t do that would land you in hot water).

Of course, there are certain weapons that are much more adept than others for this purpose. So here is a look at some of the most sinister weapons that we’ve c..."

"See if you can guess what game we’re talking about: in the war-torn near future, a supersolider - outfitted in skin-tight armor - wages battle against legions of aliens/other supersoldiers. To protect his scar-ridden face, he dons a nondescript, yet sleek helmet, thereby rendering him mute and indistinguishable from everything else on sale. Give up? It’s a trick question.

You might remember our feature on the world’s most generic game character where we created our own Frankenstein-like wo..."

"Right, this is strange. The day after my rant about the PS3 not needing an in-game XMB, we get two things on the Playstation Store that ironically address the themes of discussion. High Velocity Bowling supports custom soundtracks, and the TimeShift demo allows you to bring up your friends list and read your messages.

Strange aye? It’s as if Sony was watching me write my rant, and is now putting the finger up to me and saying “suck on that!” I’m sorry Sony, you know better *cowers*.

So..."

"All those U.S. parents unable to understand and appreciate the usual ‘E for Everyone’ and ‘T for Teen’ and ‘M for Mature’ guidelines slapped onto all videogame packaging (which are provided for parents by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board) should probably think twice before purchasing the following for pesky ankle biters below the age of 17 or 18..."

Last week, I got off easy; I got away with only putting four of that pretty large list of notables in the title. With the games releasing this week, it looks like that's not possible. This is how you know it's the holidays.

That said, there are plenty of good games that came out last week, coming out this week, and will come out in the upcoming weeks. Console allegiances be damned; we're all gamers, and let's enjoy all these games. Defense Forces need not apply. Support good games!

"Well that was random wasn’t it?

A demo for TimeShift was released on the Xbox Live Marketplace recently today. The demo weighs in at 581.78 MB to be exact. Here is how the Marketplace describes the game:

“Dr. Aiden Krone has made a Time Jump across the space-time continuum – a reckless act with frightening consequences. Now, a disturbing alternate reality has evolved within the bleak and rain-soaked Alpha District. Armed with the experimental Beta Suit, you alone are able to slow, sto..."

IGN takes a look at 10 games that may get overlooked this year. Judging from hands-on impressions, these games are coming along very nicely. But for some reason, they aren't very popular. Either way, these are ten titles that you won't want to miss.

    10) Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness
    9) BlackSite: Area 51
    8) Fury
    7) TimeShift
    6) The Settlers: Rise of an Empire
    5) Hannah Montana: Music Jam
    4) Jeanne d'Arc
    3) Tabula Rasa
    2) Braid
    1) Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

The down and dirty version of the interview is that developers, across the board, when dealing with multi-console releases, are experience severe difficulty in developing for the PS3 because of the vastly different architecture that offers no real advantage at this time. F.E.A.R. will be receiving another expansion pack for the PC and the XBOX 360 will receive a combination pack that will include both expansions. The PS3 will NOT receive any expansions for F.E.A.R. because of the delay and di...

"After two delays and rumours that the project had been abandoned all together, Sierra Entertainment has today given the official nod that first-person shooter TimeShift will be released for the Microsoft Xbox 360 and PC on October 30. PlayStation 3 owners, however, will be left twiddling their thumbs until December before they can get their hands on it."

"One of the most overlooked games at this year’s E3 would probably have to be Time Shift. It’s not that the game is bad or uninventive, it’s just that there were way too many big games and not enough time for this game to get the proper coverage it deserved. So that’s why we’re bringing you some of the screenshots from the E3 business and media summit.

For those who are unfamiliar with this game, it’s basically an entire game based on the conceptual physics of bullet-time: time can be slow..."

"What remains from the previous game is as follows: You're still a guy with a fancy suit who can bend time in multiple directions, and you're still fighting alongside a ragtag rebellion against a nefarious, imperialist chrome dome named Krone. Just about everything else is different, though. You're not playing as square-jawed Colonel Swift anymore; the newly redesigned main character is encased in a full-body suit that makes him look like a high-tech cybernetic ninja. In fact, the entire story..."
