There was excitement all around with Star Wars fans when some leaked footage was displayed for the world to see. OXCGN writer looks at the death of yet another development studio, this time Free Radical Design. Those great guys behind the time honoured Timesplitters franchise.
But feel flat on their recent outing, HAZE, which garnered poor reviews from both gamers and the industry. What if they had of simply focused on Timesplitters 4, which had been in production for well over a year, what will happen to the playful shooter of old, will we only see serious shooters lining the shelves from now on?

Free Radical has recently revealed the concept art for their upcoming game TimeSplitters 4, and if a chainsaw-wielding nun, a 4-wheeled cat with bling, and a dismembered transvestite monkey don't interest you in the slightest, then I don't know what will!

In yet another sign that the game is on the way Free Radical have released a teaser trailer showcasing the famous monkey which has become an icon of the games. It also parodies a certain series of Science Fiction films which you should all be familiar with. Go to the source to watch it.
In a sure sign that the company is working on the game, a poll has appeared on the Free Radical website asking which platform Timesplitters 4 should be on. The choices are the PS3, 360, Wii, PC, or something different. The Wii is currently leading but the point may well be moot if it is multiplatform like the others.
So cast your vote and let your voice be heard. Where should the Timesplitters franchise go?
Timesplitters 4 is now confirmed and it's expected to be released on the Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360. Dave Doak also said that you won't hear any other announcements about Timesplitters 4 anytime soon as it's still in it's preliminary stages of development.
