Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

As of today, Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob have four new brothers. Or four new pets, depending on how you look at it. Nickelodeon has acquired the global rights for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for $60 million. Considered one of the most successful franchises in the past 25 years, the Turtles have had a successful run in cartoons, movies, toy lines, and of course video games.

"0 Ubisoft have today announced that it will launch an all-new, original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) videogame – the first that is not tied to a TMNT movie, television show or comic book – which will be a four-player action fighting title. The game is being developed by Game Arts, noted for working on the critically acclaimed Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii."

"We here at IGN have several favorite Xbox Live Arcade games. Puzzle Quest, Undertow, Pac-Man Championship Edition, Prince of Persia Classic… We could go on.

It would appear that the masses do not share our taste in downloadable games, though, as none of these titles made the list of top ten XBLA games for 2007.

Major Nelson has released the list over on his blog. It seems most gamers overwhelmingly favor retro games over original content."
