Tony Hawk's Proving Ground

Tony Hawk's Proving Ground

Gaming has hit a bit of a slump in terms of design and innovation. Endless sequels plague the release calendar, and will kill the industry. This isn't the first time that something like this has happened, but I welcome the fallout and eventual recovery that will come.

James Walker has had it. This goes past Bobby Kotick's recent dropping Sony support threats. This has been a long time coming. Someone needs to call Bobby out on the things he is doing with what was a company we all could at the very least say used to be "better than EA"

""The skateboard controller will redefine sports games by offering players a true skateboarding experience, hands-free, playing with friends and family at home or online in a variety of different locations.""

"Neversoft plans to release more sequels to the "Guitar Hero" series — including the much-ballyhooed "Guitar Hero: Metallica" set for release during the first quarter of this year — but the company has let the Tony Hawk series go to another developer.

"It's probably best for the franchise ... it's time for someone else to add fresh ideas to it," Jewett said."

"Activision is remaining tight-lipped regarding rumours today that Neversoft has been taken off the Tony Hawks franchise.

The rumours suggest that the Neversoft-created series is now in the hands of new developer Robomodo, who has already disclosed that it's working on an as-yet unnamed game for Activision.

But Activision on the matter that it "does not comment on rumour and speculation".

It seems likely enough to us, considering Activision has gone on record that it's looking to inj..."

Activision has announced that Call of Duty 5 is in the works for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii and PS2. We could also be seeing two new Guitar Hero titles this year, along with another title for Tony Hawks and a new James Bond game set to accompany the new movie coming out in Autumn. A sequel for Marvel Ultimate Alliance and a new Spider Man game have also been mentioned, although there aren't many details for these games yet.

"Activision and Vivendi, has revealed that it will be making new games in franchises like Call of Duty and Guitar Hero "on an annual basis".

It's a move that sounds a lot like rival publishing behemoth EA's strategy of pumping out new versions of its core titles every year. EA has been criticised by some gamers for focusing on this model of publishing over high quality new games.

Speaking in a conference call today, Robert Kotick, chairman and CEO of Activision, said: "You can expect vir..."

"In stark contrast to the recent skate demo, Tony Hawk's Proving Ground suggests that there's nothing at all wrong with the classic button-intensive style of unrealistic sports gaming. Yes, this is yet another Tony Hawk game where people launch themselves dozens of feet into the air, grind across buses, and finally end up crashing headfirst into a telephone pole. Ah, Tony, how I've missed you."

Activision Inc. confirmed the company's E3 videogame line-up, which includes Bee Movie Game, based on the upcoming computer-animated comedy from DreamWorks Animation, Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare, id Software's Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, Spider-Man: Friend or Foe and Tony Hawk's Proving Ground.
