"TopWare Interactive is releasing Two Worlds II: Velvet GOTY Edition this October. The original game was developed by Reality Pump and released in July. Garnering slightly average reviews across the board it’s a real surprise that the game is receiving a GOTY Edition. However, that hasn’t stopped the publisher releasing the game in snazzy fashion."
"It appears that another recognizable name in video game publishing is bordering on shutting down. This speculation of a shutdown comes as news of the publisher delaying future releases has started trickling down through distributors and retailers. Sources at multiple retail giants are reporting that the company’s upcoming PC title Stronghold 3 is being delayed indefinitely."
Continuing their advertising mini-series for Two Worlds II, episode VII of Sordahon's Journey debuted today. In this episode, one of Sordahon's co-workers realizes that they share a similar interest.
"No sooner did David and Pat heal from their ailments than Andy and Nick are stricken ill. Yet the whole crew manages to blast through this magickal podcast. When not wizarding in Two Worlds 2, Venetica, Magicka, Rift, or Dragon Age Origins, we talk Killzone 3, Stacking, EVE Online, and discuss what went wrong with Gran Turismo 5's seasonal events.
There's a tiny bit of important gaming news. Later, we answer some user emails pertaining to the upcoming cyberpunk zombie dinosaur game revolut..."
Chapter 3 of Two Worlds II focuses on a lot of walking, slow-movie zombies, and talking. Lots (and lots) of talking. Decidedly shorter than the previous chapter, and draped in a depressing curse, the chapter focuses on story more than action.
SideQuesting - Though plagued by control issues and a non-existent story, the first Chapter introduces the player to an incredibly intricate and immersive customization and crafting system.
SideQuesting - With a great amount of variety in both location and types of quests, as well as the crafting system coming into its own, the second Chapter of the game is thoroughly enjoyable.
"Overall Two Worlds II is a major improvement over the original. The problem is that the original was so bad, that almost anything would have been an improvement. The game’s graphics are nice, but still flawed. The generic RPG soundtrack will push away a lot of gamers after less than an hour of gameplay."
From my experience with this title it has lived up to the hype of it's record pre-order and first week sales figures. Some reviews have been way more negative then realistic. That is why I have gone through most of the game-play to pass on to my readers whats really going on up in here. It is a very addictive game with many hours of non repetitive play so give it a read and give it a chance.
"Two Worlds, developed by Reality Pump and published by SouthPeak Interactive in 2007, was a RPG that was notable more for its flaws than its strengths. GameZone talks with Reality Pump Chairman Miroslaw Dymek about his hopes for the sequel, about what makes it better than the original, and about whether or not gamers should give the series a second chance."
Two Worlds II is finally in stores and it trys to make improvements on it's predecessor. Check out our full review to see if the changes were enough for you to purchase.
"Is it possible to talk about an open-world fantasy RPG without mentioning The Elder Scrolls series, particularly Oblivion? Ideally, Oblivion wouldn’t come up once in this review, but one of the primary goals of Two Worlds II is to brazenly dethrone Oblivion as the king of the genre, and as such the comparisons are openly invited. Two Worlds II simply isn’t as good as Oblivion. Despite a slightly different combat style and a third-person perspective, it’s virtually the same game but less polis..."
Two Worlds II is really knocking it out of the park. These sales are impressive for a rebound from a game a lot of people didn't like last time. There must be a reason everyone had pre-ordered and has swarmed to pick it up on the first day of it's release which is today. It is looking like it will be a hit but there is only one way to find out for yourself go pick it up.
"When Two Worlds was released in 2007, it was almost impossible not to compare it to the open world fantasy juggernaut that was Oblivion. Sure it shared many similar gaming conventions, but in the end, Two Worlds was a complete mess of bugs, terrible voice-acting (which is even mocked in the second game by an NPC) and unresponsive controls. Three years later and we have a sequel from the same developer, but rather than compare it to the five year old Oblivion, the main question is whether or n..."
"If no one in space can hear you scream, then you’d be forgiven for not knowing that Electronic Arts plans to release Dead Space 2 this week. Of course, if the necromorphs infected you with a desire for more Dead Space after one of their previous games, you’re likely bouncing off the walls of your home as if there wasn’t any gravity inside.
A pair of RPGs round out the rest of the major new releases this week. Square Enix will be bringing action RPG Lord of Arcana to the PSP while SouthPeak..."

"We get in a nice short cast before the rush of new games for 2011 hits, but there is still plenty to talk about. Ghost Trick, Gran Turismo 5, Mass Effect 2, Monster Hunter Tri, Borderlands, 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors, Two Worlds 2, iCarus, and more.
As always we cover the week in gaming news, and some rumors as well. At the tail of the show we chat about TV shows, books, and movies. What more could you want, seriously tell us what you want more of."
The creative developer of Two Worlds II takes you behind the scenes and explains the alternate path they took while creating this sequel to Two worlds. As he explains in this video there are a lot of changes that will make this version far superior than the original.
"Standing in conversation with a young Orcish maiden, two things cross my mind. Firstly, I wonder if she needs the bathroom - she seems to be shuffling on the spot an awful lot. Secondly, I begin to wonder if every woman in Antaloor is tall, busty, slim, and issued with physics-defying cleavage-revealing clothes by default. I realize that she doesn’t need the bathroom at all – her animations to give her some life during conversation have just been a little misjudged. The clothes, though. Well,..."
This trailer from South Peak just released shows the calamitous activities that took place in the five years that have elapsed between the events of Two Worlds and Two Worlds II.
"The game industry is constantly evolving where trends come and go while the names typically stay the same. Despite the players always jockeying for first place in the eyes of the consumer, most of those players stick around once they enter the industry. EA, Take 2 and SouthPeak are examples."
