Go Fanboy is following up on the rumor they posted last week regarding the upcoming announcement of a Valkyrie Profile sequel. While details were sketchy last month, the site is reporting that the game is coming out, except as a PS3 exclusive. This contradicts the site's earlier announcement that it would be on Xbox 360.
Available on video game developer tri-Ace's home page is a link to a teaser page for a new RPG title that is presumably in development by the studio. The countdown timer is currently set to finish on April 10th. The teaser page can be found here.
tri-Ace's most recent projects were the Xbox 360 RPG Star Ocean: The Last Hope, and Nintendo DS SRPG Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume.
It's all about the DS this week, fellas, ladies. Sure, there's a few notables for the other platforms (Rune Factory: Frontier on the Wii, Resistance: Retribution on PSP), but none of them can top a whopping six high profile titles, and of such a great variety. Three RPGs, one RTS, one shooter, one racer, and GTA: Chinatown Wars? Never been a better time to be a DS owner than now..
Only a couple of screenshots have been in supply since the game's announcement, but now we have a whole batch for Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume, the upcoming RPG from tri-Ace.

Covenant is set to release March 17 in North America and April 3 in Europe.

Japanese newssite GPara has Media Create's top thirty software rankings for the week of November 10th to November 16th. This week's top ten is an eye-opener, and is pretty weird compared to other weeks.

She's naughty isn't she? A piece of artwork advertising for Valkyrie Profile in Japan has caused quite the stir. It seems she's depicted... not wearing any underwear. The pose isn't helping her cause any.
This was noticed by an employee at the store, who decided to put up an accompanying sign displaying "Lenneth, the War of Not Wearing". Go to the source to read the sign's translation.
In a press release today, Square Enix announced two new games that were added to their North American 1st Quarter 2009 lineup. Joining the already-announced Star Ocean: Second Evolution (January 6th) for the PSP and Star Ocean: The Last Hope (March 3rd) for the Xbox 360 are a duo of Nintendo DS games: Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride and Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume.

New screenshots for the upcoming tri-Ace/Square Enix RPG, Valkyrie Profile: The Accused One, have made their way to the internet. The screenshots and article detail the game's Action Point System, which determines what moves can be used--every attack or spell is assigned a number of points, and each character has 100 AP to use in his/her repertoire. It looks as if it is the same type of system utilized in Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria, but confined to a grid.

Square Enix has announced that there will be a limited edition version of tri-Ace's upcoming RPG for the Nintendo DS: Valkyrie Profile: The Accused One. It will include 48-page hardcover art book titled "Visual Profile -Premium Edition-", that will be around the same size as a DS package. The art is led by Kou and You Yoshinari, and there will also be an original short story. The game's site has also updated with some images and a new movie.
