We have just created a new section for the site called "AAG's Developer Profiles". Each fortnight we will pick a developer to profile so that our readers can get an insight into the developers that make the games we know and love. Our first developer profile is on the great SCE Santa Monica Studio. Enjoy.

Dylan Jobe, the director of Warhawk, comments about how much of an impact of freeing up more RAM has on Playstation 3 development in addition to providing an update on the latest status of his next title.

Warhawk is one of the best mutliplayer games this generation, and how can you make it better when you have conquered land and air? Why by going to space of course. Rumors about LightBox Interactive Studio, made up of members form Icognito, are hard at work on a new version of Warhawk. If this is true, this could be one of the best multiplayer games ever.

"A couple days ago I visited with Incognito studio director Dylan Jobe (you know him well) about the Warhawk space that launches today in PlayStation Home. Dylan was nice enough to walk us through the Warhawk Command Center, and specifically through the Sand Table where you can lay out strategies for all Warhawk maps. It’s all really slick, and Dylan goes into some great detail about how it all works."

"In years past, NeoGAF has done their favorite moments in gaming, using only MS Paint to show you. Looking back at 2008 brings us some of the coolest moments, great memories that can look amusing to just plain epic, even when in Paint. I purposely left out the names of the games as half the fun is guessing (but if you can’t figure it out, right click and hit properties to see the file name where I put the game)."

"Wait we still IN 2008?

The Christmas episode of Sony’s Pulse has given us the lowdown on which of the raft of games available on the PlayStation Network sold best in the last twelve months. Quite surprisingly - given the nature of the game - PAIN takes the number one spot, with the likes of the confusing flOw and the bizarrely-named High Stakes Poker Edition helping to fill out the rest of the places.

Strangely theres no mention of WipEout HD or PixelJunk Eden, but they could be slow-bu..."

Saturday on November 8th there seems to be a special one day Sony deals going on at Walmart. Some deals including buying a 80GB PS3 and get a free $100 Gift Card which you can get some games for free since you won't be using your money but the card. And 3 PS3 titles will be going to Greatest hits which is Resistance, Warhawk and MotorStorm at $19.82. So check out Walmart on Saturday the 8th starting at 8am.

Thursday came and went, and brought with it a number of new updates to the playstation store, however it seems that many people have forgotten about the store entirely with the Tokyo Game Show currently underway. However the folks over at the Playstation Blog surely haven't forgotten and have posted the latest US additions to the store.

Included in the update are demos for the much awaited Warhawk as well as pay-to-use themes. Be sure to take a look at the incredibly large list of updates ...

The brand new warhawk patch finally been released. And this one is worth the download, whether you plan on playing it or not. The patch will add retroactive trophies. Meaning if you have already unlocked the trophy, you don't have to go through and do it again! In other good news, the patch also adds Jetpacks. That's right, the ones that let you fly! The jet packs will be dispensed in certain areas and only a certain amount are released at a time. That way you don't have every player battling...

"As revealed at Leipzig, Warhawk Operation: Fallen Star is coming this week. A new update on the PlayStation.blog confirms a few new details: like the 30 new map configurations, many of which accommodate the new jetpack. "In total there are 10 new layouts for Tau Crater and since the jetpack is a massive, game-changing addition to Warhawk, we included a crap-ton of bonus layouts for the original game too - there are 30 bonus layouts that add jetpacks into the Warhawk's original content.""

"The third expansion pack for the PSN-exclusive Warhawk is coming by month's end. Operation Fallen Star introduces Tau Crater, a remote, forested level that is the site of a crashed Chernovan warship containing experimental technology. This new pack adds the Infrantry Jetpack and ten new battlefields, most likely variations of the Tau Crater level. Of course, a free summer update will add a few new features, not forgetting Trophies."

It has only been a month since the 1.4 update which added 2 new game modes. Well now Director Dylan Jobe has posted all the juicy details for it's next big update v1.5.

So what will we be seeing on the battlefield and more importantly when will we be seeing it?
Ingame Music (through the XMB), Trophies, Tutorials, New Paint Schemes and Insignias and the lucky few that participated in the GGL Tournament will get an exclusive Katana Blade.

More info below.

Warhawk is still one of the PS3's most popular shooters despite its age, and the loyal players who have stuck with the game are going to get some treats. If look at some of the Trophies listed for the game's patch so far you can find some very big hints. Including mentions of the new map pack as well as the title suggests a Jetpack. This is not confirmed however and the picture whether intentionally or not looks fake.

Reports from SCEE claim that the Warhawk trophies will be arriving to the Playstation 3 (via a 1.5 patch download) on August 27th. There is said that there will be over 50 different trophies that you can get though it will depend on how many extension packs you have already downloaded into the game. The Platinum Trophy is however still said to be available to get with out any of the packs according to Dylan Jobe.

Could a bundle pack of Operation Omega Dawn & Operation Broken Mirror be coming soon together in a cheaper package? Well if CVG are right, then the answer is yes. A pack which should contain both of the aforementioned add-ons to Warhawk should be coming soon, retailing at £4.99 (compared to the £3.99 that many gamers paid for each of the add-ons).

As for when it's coming out.. unfortunately no date has been announced, but CVG are certainly hopeful about it being this month.

Kru Edit:...

Warhawk's developers may have gone quiet recently but recent announcements made by game director Dylan Jobe show there still kicking. A Warhawk tournament is underway with cool prizes (see images below), a new update is on the way which is suggested to include support for more servers and larger map layouts. But the most interesting piece of news comes in the form of a clue left by Dylan Jobe pointing towards further upgrades to Warhawk. The image (posted to the left) has already had huge amo...

A few weeks ago a document was discovered which was apparently a schedule for PSN content. This list included such items as Warhawk: Operation Broken Mirror (already released), a update for Lair, a Resistance 2 trailer and a mystery item titled Ratchet: Quest for Booty. Due to some digging several of these items have been confirmed and as such the rest of list can be somewhat trusted.

"Most of our readers and Warhawk aficionados know that we recently held a contest for players in the US to submit their own insignias and aircraft paint schemes. The response was fantastic and we received a ton of entries. Thus why it has taken us so damn long to review them all, then pick the winners, contact them, and secure all the paper work required by our lawyers.

Welp… the winners are now selected and integrated with the upcoming Warhawk v1.3 update!

Before we reveal the new ..."

An interview with Sony's John Hight revealed new information about the Playstation Store, Warhawk, and much more. It has now been confirmed that the Playstation Store will get a redesign in April. He has also stated that the new Warhawk expansion (Broken Mirror) should be out by April of this year!

Another thing he was asked about was why the Japanese store seems to have more content (Specifically PS1 games) than the US Store, to which he replied that the US will be getting it soon.

What could make Home better? When developers go the extra mile to make some amazing stuff that is all in Home. Resistance Fall Of Man will have a interactive "Home". Much like the Insomniac Musuem found in the R&C games. You will be able to view levels that never made it into the game, listen to hidden radio messages that will give more detail on the story and much more.

Uncharted takes it a step further. There will be "Homes" that are designed as the levels that are found in uncharted. Le...

You love Warhawk? Well here is some news which is going to make your day. Dylan Jobe the creator of the game has just revealed some vital details on what the v1.3 update offers. In short it adds two new weapons on Warhawks already impressive arsenal, adds new VOIP options and paint jobs and most importantly Home integration! This could well be a indicator that Home is much closer to release than we suspect. Could Home be on everyone's PS3 by March? Only time will tell. Oh and it also includes...

"Not to be outdone by its rivals, Sony has bolstered its online store with a pretty decent smattering of new content. Leading the way in this latest update is PSone classic Warhawk, which will set fans back a modest $5.99 USD, while free playable demos of Snakeball and BlackSite: Area 51 are also available for those looking to take titles for a test run."

The new Warhawk Omega Dawn pack is coming out on the 20th that you know. But it has just been announced that the free game update will be coming out on the 19th worldwide 10:00 GMT. But by far the biggest news is that INCOGNITO are already hard at work on the next patch, which not only will fix glitches and resolves balancing issues but will also feature new content, for free! Apparently it has something to do with players

As some may Remember, Warhawk was originally a classic PS1 game. Recently, Warhawk for PSP and PS3 has appeared on the ESRB website with an E rating. Could this mean that Sony is going to release a downloadable version of Warhawk over the Playstation Network? It wouldn't be too surprising, considering the success of the Playstation 3 version of the game.

"As previously report, the addon pack adds 3 key things to Warhawk: a new map called "Omega Factory", a new aircraft called "KT-424 Combat Dropship", and modifications of the five original layouts. The addon pack is currently going through global testing and is still on schedule for a December release. The patch will be a free download while the addon pack will cost $7.99."

Ah yes the Warhawk expansion is soon upon us. Someone has graciously allowed us a preview of what our money will be buying. In these screens it shows off the new level in night time and the drop ship. Click the link to view the other screen shots.

"The battle began this August when Warhawk™ went online on PLAYSTATION®Network (PSN). Since then, the fighting has spanned the globe as PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) gamers of all nationalities battle for supremacy in this world of multiplayer military confrontation. Whether you’re fending for yourself or enlisting in a team of Eucadian or Chernovan forces to wage war on foot, at the controls of a tank or from the cockpit of the fearsome Warhawk, there’s non-stop action ahead ..."

The patch was intended to fix bugs such as stats not updating and incorrect rankings however it seems the patch actually just corrupts the game for those who downloaded the game in Europe.

When starting Warhawk you get prompted to install the new patch. Once the patch is installed you get sent back to the XMB. Starting Warhawk agian results in an error message:

Warhawk, the online game that have gamers pushing to get into servers on their Playstation 3's, has sold just over 110,000 copies in the first week. This makes it one of the fastest selling games on the console, but then again, there hasn't been many mind blowing games for the PS3.

Just when you started to think that Japanese consumers get a better deal on everything when it comes to Japanese Console Games... well you'd better think again, as this proves that living in Japan doesn't always mean that you will get all the games that are released (as is the case with Square-Enix and their need to re-release an updated game).

Warhawk which is being sold in the US and Europe (well will eventually) as either a downloadable off the PSN or a Blu-Ray game will only be coming...

It seems that Warhawk, the recently released exclusive Playstation 3 game, is frustrating gamers. The Online gaming seems to be the problem. The online servers of the game seem to be too crowded, preventing gamers to get into an online game. Thus, gamers are waiting an average 15 minutes just to start playing.

"It’s all been a bit quiet on the PlayStation 3 front for Sony this year, with major attention getter Metal Gear Solid 4 being pushed back into 2008, Home apparently not yet ready, and Little Big Planet also tantalisingly just out of reach.

However, that doesn’t mean the Japanese electronics giant is lacking for ‘oomph’ titles between now and when the above titans do finally arrive… and Warhawk is believed to be one of them. So jump in your virtual cockpit, power up your review engines..."

A fair amount of gamers have reported that Warhawk has froze on them while playing. People on the MaxConsole forums has announced that while attempting to play it three times, two of the times it has frozen. Other gamers on various gaming forums has also confirmed this. Gametrailers has set up a recent poll and 35/126 gamers had the game frozen. Just a small percentage, but enough to get people complaining.

IGN has come around to review the Playstation 3 game, Warhawk. They give it a great score of 8.8 out of 10. They review it for 3 long pages, coming to conclusion that that the graphics, presentation, sound and lasting appeal are near perfect and the gameplay is fantastic, scoring well above average, but the game requires you to take a big learning step as there is no tutorial. Go to the source for the full review.

Were you and any of your friends planning on buying Warhawk, and simply downloading it onto each other's consoles? Unfortunately that wont be possible. You can by all means download it on upto five consoles, however only the account that was used to buy the game will be able to play on it... so if you have a sibling with another account, I'm afraid they will have to use your account to play WarHawk as well. Found on the screen before you download the game is a little snippet

1up reviews Warhawk, the game for the Playstation 3 and they give it a 8.5 out of 10 for being 'equally excellent' on foot, on wings and on wheels. They say that even if it only has five maps and four game types, it is more complex than it seems, added to the 'addictive mix of on-foot, vehicle, and airborne combat '. Go to the source for the full review.

Someone on the Playstation 3 forums has been talking about how he recently got Warhawk and when he started it up and installed it, he noticed it took up nearly 800MB of space. If you want to save more space on your hardrive, don't bother with the blu-ray.

According to an article at Three Speech, everyone waiting to get their grubby little mits on Warhawk is going to have to wait another few days. The original release on the PSN for download was August 28th. Now it's been pushed back until August 30th.

Not a bad deal if you ask me, considering you'll still get it almost a month before it's on the shelves thanks to the Playstation Network.

According to a scan of the Playstation Magazine, Warhawk never achieved full flight, getting a low 6.5 out of 10. You can probably read part of the review to get in on a little information, but if you trust PSM, then your best bet is to save your money or rent.

"One thing the Playstation 3 has an abundance of are over the top action titles from Resistance Fall of Man to GRAW2. This aint a bad thing by any means, so when we hear that the development team behind the outrageous Twisted Metal series where bringing back Warhawk to our beloved console, we certainly had something to be excited about. Warhawk is Sony Computer Entertainments answer to the lack of air to ground flight titles currently available across all platforms this generation and are hopi..."

Less than a month till the US release of Warhawk, the PS3's first online-only Game. And with that, the guys at the Sony Blog have brought us, a quick Question and Answer session with them about the game.

And don't think they've left out any detail about it, they've tried to answer most questions that they were asked. The biggest question of course must be whether or not the Warhawk supports the XMB buddy list... well the answer is YES. Any buddy on your friends list on the PSN, will show u...

This isn't just a preview by anybody, it IS from the editors of the Semi-Official Playstation blog, ThreeSpeech, and as such this is a Semi-Official Preview. For those that don't know, Warhawk will be releasing at the end of August on two mediums - Disc and Download via the PSN Store.

Now for the details from the preview, which you should read yourself, but here are the quick highlights:

  1. You can choose to either host your own server, join one that somebody has already made, or join a dedica...

"Hi Everyone – It’s been a while since I’ve made a post, but since some of you guys posted comments wanting me to jump back on, *and* the very interesting pricing debate/discussion that has been going on recently, well … here I am with a couple of important updates!?

First off, has Warhawk gone “gold”??

Hells Ya! The PSN and Blu-ray versions have gone “GOLD,” completely finished and will go on sale August 28th … just a few weeks away! We’re all really proud of the game, and tho..."

"WarHawk, one of the most anticipated title's for the PS3 has finally received a release date for later this summer. WarHawk is releasing to both the PSN store and shipping to retailer store shelves this August 22nd. The Blu-Ray version of the game will be priced at 59.99$ USD."

"The build that the beta players played on some weeks ago was by far not even close to the final version. When Warhawk launches this fall you will notice several updates:
آ A huge graphical update- Were talking about something around Gears of War
Expanded player limit to 32 vs. 32 in team matches
Lots of downloadable content on launch
6 new weapons ( 1 from Insomniac’s popular PS3 shooter Resistance)
4 new vehicles

Possibly Warhawk could turn out to be a suprise hit."

As previously seen on GameGrep, a $59.99 price tag has been put on Warhawk's bundle package. The Package itself will, as previously known, include a Jabra Bluetooth Headset. I personally use a type of Jabra Headset, and must admit that they are extremely reliable.

As for more details revealing to the package that wasn't known before.... well firstly if you take a look at the screenshot below, you may be able to read the details from the box on the right hand side. If not.... here they are...

"With Sony's press conference in the past, we've created a roundup of all the small, but significant, announcements and confirmations. This year, Sony allowed very little time for the audience to ponder and absorb, so a lot of the groundbreaking revelations were not emphasised. This was of course a good thing, as it showed that Sony had a lot of things to say. So aside from the major announcements, such as MGS4, Haze and UT3 exclusivity, here are the other tidbits:

- 200 games on Blu-ray an..."

"The prizefight between these two powerful works-in-progress pits Sony ’s big online-only affair against Microsoft’s multiplayer addiction. Which sandbox game takes the prize in beta form? Matt Swider of Gaming Target judges the public betas of these system sellers in 12 rounds."

"UPDATE: Sony's released an official statement that confirms the $59.99 price tag for Warhawk, but doesn't specify what's happening with the downloadable version. For that, we'll have to wait a little longer.

The highly anticipated title Warhawk, a PLAYSTATION 3 exclusive, will be available both as a downloadable title via PLAYSTATION Network and at retail stores as a Blu-ray disc on August 28, 2007. The Blu-ray version will retail at stores for $59.99 and will be bundled with a Jabra Bluet..."
