Well, Nintendo's biggest heavy hitter is out now as of yesterday, but that doesn't mean you should ignore the rest of the titles that come out this week. Also, pay attention to the Virtual Console, with some quality releases there too.

Konami is currently holding a tournament for Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 with a top prize of £50'000. Apparently the player used screens from a previous unofficial map to convince the admins that he had won a real match in the tournament, a match that never actually happened.
FIFA or PES - the eternal footballing question. PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 - the current hardware question. Hmm, how about PES and Wii - an undeniably potent combination oozing sporting possibility and innovative value? Konami might be on the right track with PES 2008 for Wii.

EA have announced that FIFA 08 is the first 2007 title to top one million in sales for the UK. The reason they have said that the title has done so well is for one, the new games engine, in game licenses and of course the FA Cup being added. Such additional help that FIFA have had to reach this target also is to Konami who have had multiple problems with there title including port problems that effect the game play.

Konami revealed that it will use the Games Convention in Leipzig to give football fans and games players across Europe the first chance to try out the PS3 version of PES 2008 at 9:00am on August 23rd. This will give them a chance to reveal there new Teamvision set up which offers a unique system of artificial intelligence that adapts according to an individuals style of play to create the balanced and strategic play of a high stakes match.
