"PushStartSelect: "I find stories with a female lead fascinating most of the time because it’s a good twist on your stereotypical story revolving around a guy character. A lot of key dynamics change, and emotions are brought about for various reasons. This isn’t to say they are weaker or anything like that, but different and its cool. So here are five female lead games that I think should see a return in some shape or form soon!""

With fall releases in full swing the crew at Goozernation looks back to their ever growing backlog which includes games such as Red Dead Redemption, Fallout New Vegas, Goldeneye 007, Enslaved, Borderlands, Bulletstorm, LA Noire, and Metal Gear Solid 4. The bigger question here is how can a gamer find anytime to play this stuff and how did these games end up in the backlog?

"Elementary my dear readers, I go into games with Low Expectations! Yeah, it doesn't sound like the best course of action, but many times I end up pleasantly surprised and end up really enjoying the games, probably more than if I had played them expecting greatness. I'm going to key you into a few of these games I expected very little from and how they ended up being some great titles and how one of them even made its way into my favorites."

"Last week’s Electronic Theatre Sunday Special was the run down of Top Ten Videogame Heroes; featuring the protagonist you loved like Sam Fisher, Sonic the Hedgehog and Link. So to prove that the games industry isn’t just a man’s game, this week we focus on the Top Ten Videogame Heroines. Ten of the females that got you hot under the collar, and not in the Dead or Alive Paradise way, but stayed on track with the heroic mission which faced them have been chosen for this week’s feature article."

GoHastings.com has discounted WET video game for Playstation 3 to $19.99. This is $40 off retail and over 50% the cheapest price that was ever available.

""Nothing but love to the people who wrote these games, but in all seriousness, what was the process by which these games were picked? I’m sure that I haven’t been exposed to the intricacies of the vast number of genres of entertainment. I’m sure my bias to the hectic nature of explosions and fallen gun shells beset with the drama of fallen comrades and tragic pasts keep me from enjoying the subtle beauteousness of The Sound of Music and what not. I’m also positive that I know nothing about wh..."

""With Bayonetta strutting into stores this week, it's time to take a look at the toughest female characters gaming has provided gaming with over the years. We're talking ladies of steel; the kind that don't need to be suffering with hormonal pains to rip your head off. Gone is the insistent need to shop and the power to chat your body into a vacant boredom – these girls have far more pressing matters to get on with. By 'pressing,' we mean they are out saving the world or imprinting their high..."

"The Gypsy Pistoleros have announced that Bethesda Softworks’ recently-released Action game, WET, will be the sole sponsor of their 2009 October UK Tour. Four tracks from the band’s forthcoming album, Hotel de la Muerte, are featured in WET, a highly stylized game developed by Artificial Mind & Movement (A2M) for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3."

WET was only just released, with mixed reviews, but already it looks as though a movie adaptation is being considered. In a recent interview with multiplayerblog.mtv.com, Ruby's voice-actress Eliza Dushku voiced her thoughts on the possibility of a WET movie being made.

"You really have to approach WET exactly as you would a grindhouse film. It's violent, ridiculous and prefers style over substance one hundred percent of the time. Case in point: Rubi herself. She's an unfeeling killer with an awful attitude—a real cold, hard bitch. The developers dangle her in front of you as a desirable sex object, even giving you a tantalizingly brief chance to fetishize her during a torture scene when she's wearing only a tank-top and thong."

All Age Gaming's John Elliott takes a look at the world of Rubi. You take her role in Bethesda's latest game, WET. With her gorgeous looks and the games Quentin Tarrantino-esque style action, does WET shine or does it leave you dry? Read our full review to find out.

All Age Gaming's Phong Nguyen bring's us the 12th AAG "The Week That Was". This week he discusses Halo 3: ODST's sales performance, the Uncharted 2 MP demo, Playstation Home update, Wii Fit Plus and New Super Mario Bros release dates and more!

"WET’s protagonist Rubi might be the love child of Max Payne and Laura Croft. She is a sexy, acrobatic and violent female mercenary out for revenge. Except Rubi doesn’t need wussy health packs to restore energy.

No, she takes a swig of whisky, throws the bottle in the air and shoots it.

WET is evocative of the work of Quentin Tarantino, specifically Kill Bill. The story, penned by 24 writer Duppy Demitrius, is thick with stylized violence, adrenaline-pumping action sequences and over-the..."

"It should come as no surprise that a game with as blatant a title as WET contains absolutely no subtlety whatsoever. Thankfully, as a counter to all the innuendo, WET is defined at the beginning of the game as ‘hands wet with blood;’ everyone is guilty, or something over wrought like that. This is not a game about water skiing or the creepy girls from Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball (though Rubi does fill out her leather pants quite nicely). WET is a game about shooting people, often, i..."

"Artifical Mind and Movement, the developers behind such kid games as Happy Feet, Chicken Little, and Ice Age are straying from their normal formula with WET, an action game published by Bethesda Softworks. Does this foray into the unknown end with success, or should the sword be put away?"

"Cumulating twenty years of experience in the industry, Mr. Leece has held positions at LucasArts, Interplay Productions and was President of the Take-Two label Gotham Games. An expert in sales, licensing, publishing and business development in the gamer and casual games markets, he has published and/or licensed such products as Max Payne, Duke Nukem, Halo, Conflict: Desert Storm, Celebrity Death Match and Piglet's Big Game."

"As Rubi, you’ll make use of a variety of impressive maneuvers in bullet time to annihilate waves of enemies throughout the campaign that has her caught in the middle of a war between two drug syndicates. The foes that you’ll encounter aren’t overly cunning or difficult and you’ll be able to take them out with relative ease. But the goal is to do so with STYLE."

Gametrailers recently reviewed WET, and they thought it was okay, saying that "if you don't take the game too seriously, you will have some fun with it"...

WET is a highly-stylized third person shooter that seamlessly blends gun play, sword kills and over-the-top acrobatics to create the interactive action experience, but is it good?

Not exactly the most highly anticipated game of 2009, WET was originally dropped by Activision Blizzard in 2008, then picked up by Bethesda. Released on Tuesday, there's still very little out there relative to other titles.

Well, it's a decent game, but there are so many flaws that cannot be ignored; every game has its ups and downs. Glitchy walls, cumbersome controls, an amazing soundtrack and a rather neat use of film scratch...

lvlone.com podcast 5 talks about new game releases, how the Madden curse strikes again and names some anticipated games got pushed from 2009 to 2010. They also give their recommendation for the week. Check the link for full details

"WET is the culmination of many years worth of investment in adapting that which makes movies successful into videogames. With character structure and plot development as familiar as any Action-Thriller, Artificial Mind & Movement have created a game that any adult will understand within seconds, and be able to enjoy within minutes."

"We've seen this layout; a girl with two pistols, a bad attitude and who seems pissed at the world, can only lead to one thing. She’s Danger to anyone who stands in the way, but before you think this is just another game with a badass chick, you might want to think again.

Rubi, a mercenary, who isn’t much the cutesy, lovable character, is voiced by Eliza Dushku the star from Doll House. This foul-mouthed babe uses guns and a sword to get the job done. When a wealthy man hires her to get his..."

All Age Gaming's Ian Crane brings us another preview, this time for the Bethesda game WET. Taking the role of Rubi, is WET a game to look forward when released? Read on for some initial thoughts on the game.

Eliza Dushku, famous for her role in the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer and many other movies, is also the voice actress for the upcoming game WET. She has spoken about her belief about the ever growing popularity of video games. She has said that it has become more acceptable for adults to play video games, which a lot of the general population still think it's childish. So it's okay you guys, you can come out of your gaming closet.

"Published by Bethesda Softworks and developed by Artificial Mind and Movement (AM2), the game looks like it turned the blender on shooter meets acrobatic action games with a '70s-style vibe that could only be described as "inspired by the movie genius of Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino.""

"Developed at Artificial Mind and Movement, WET throws players into a heart-pounding, adrenaline-pumping adventure of double crosses and paybacks in which they’ll take on the role of problem fixer, Rubi Malone. Use Rubi’s dual pistols or samurai sword during any acrobatic move as you take on countless enemies in a number of exotic locations around the globe."

This is a must download of The Bender this week. We preview EVERYTHING that will happen and E3 (and even things that might not happen). Six new WET screenshots to whet your appetite -- get it? ;) -- are in from the game's new publisher Bethesda, depicting "Rage Mode", car hopping, and other such things. The entire game should look like Rage Mode if you ask us. Pretty.

"The fate of the game was imperiled by The Great Vivendi Franchise Culling of 2008, though we're pleased to hear it won't be wandering the vaporware wasteland much longer -- according to the release, Wet is set to moisten PS3s and Xbox 360s come this fall.

As an interesting aside, the press release also reveals that Buffy vet and current Dollhouse star Eliza Dushku will provide the pipes for Wet's armed-to-the-teeth protagonist, Rubi Malone. Oh, you picked Faith to voice your sassy, violent..."
